The form allows them to automatically charge whatever insurance does not cover directly to the card on file. In our case, we never received a bill or invoice from the clinic before the charge appeared on our card. When we called to ask about it, we were told they rely on the Explanation of Benefits (EOB) from insurance as the "notice" and that they do not send bills before charging the card. This was surprising because the EOB itself clearly states to wait for a bill from the provider before paying. Most medical practices send a statement or invoice first so patients can review the charges. It also seems risky to rely solely on insurance EOBs as notification, since insurance companies are not always timely with mailing them and mail can easily be delayed or lost. Interestingly, the clinic was able to send an email thanking us for the payment after the charge was processed, but no communication or billing statement beforehand. Additionally, when I called to ask about the charge, the staff discussed my husband's billing information with me without verifying who I was. I personally do have permission from my husband to discuss his account, but they never asked for my name or confirmed that authorization, which raises concerns about how patient information is being verified before it's shared. While this may technically be allowed under their authorization form, it can still be very unexpected for patients who assume they will receive a bill from the provider before any charge is processed. I would recommend carefully reviewing their financial agreement and monitoring your insurance EOBs closely if you choose to be seen here.

Since when did this became their policy? So if you don't fully understand what the comment means, IF YOUR INSURANCE IS OUT OF NETWORK AND YOU DIDNT CAL YOUR INSURANCE TO CHECK YOU WILL BE RECEIVING A BILL that would most likely have been covered or had a higher coverage rate had you gone to an in network Dr. So if this isn't a problem for you make sure you always verify with your insurance because they can be in network for one visit but for a future appointment no longer be in network.

I have been a patient of Dr. Dedinsky for almost 25 years of my life. I came upon his name from my…read moremom when I was searching for a family doctor to see on a regular basis. It's strange in a sense, since Dr. Dedinsky prior to opening up his own practice was an understudy to my moms doctor. My mom loved her doctor and somehow knew that if Dr. Dedinsky learned from her doctor, that this doctor would be just as good. After he opened up his own medical office he started taking care of my father. I started seeing him not too long after. Since my first initial visit, the fact that he was taking very good care of my father, I realize that my mom was right about telling me to go see him. In my lifetime I have been fortunate to have had two other really good doctors. Those two are long gone and they were great in a sense that they took the time to listen to you, as does Dr. Dedinsky. I really don't know why I am writing to tell you this story, other than maybe as one gets older, one stops to realize that people come upon your life to have a positive impact on you. This doctor does what he does because of my mom's doctor. Wants to listen to you, and has concern for your well being. Just as a warning to others, there is a mandatory nonsense pain class required for pain patients, a…read moreweekly class in the afternoons. I don't know how they can possibly convince people who work to attend those ridiculous classes. For instance, and I still have the handouts to prove this, the entire point of one class was to teach us about neuroplasticity, by doing exercises such as padding our heads and rubbing our tummies, and then changing the direction of the rub. This would supposedly reprogram our brains so that our pain would be better. It's a ludicrous money grab and I really think that they should not be charging insurance for those classes. I think they advertise it is complementary, but we all know that hours of professionals' time is not free. Additionally, although I was forgetting about that, having not been there since Dr Stearns unfortunately passed away, I called to inquire about how long they were booking out for ablation treatments, since this is what I normally received, after the initial appointment. The receptionist couldn't answer the question, and told me that I would need to speak with christina, and she could tell me, and I quote, what the average time to schedule a procedure is. I had waited 10 minutes on hold to speak with the receptionist, and then when he transferred me to christina, it was another 7 minutes, at which point the receptionist returned and said Christina would not be able to answer the question. When I was there before, I felt it was obvious that the office staff was poorly trained and unprofessional, and this on top of everything else made me decide to cancel my appointment. Good riddance.
