To say that the staff is Inept, would be a gross understatement, but I can't think of another word right now. I'll start with the ED. People hacking and wheezing all over and nobody wearing a mask. The nurse is wearing one but unconcerned for anyone else. I came in for chest pain/difficulty breathing and back pain. Being asked to explain my issues to 7 different staff members is Not conducive to my current condition. My O2 was in the high 80's and they didn't even see fit to give me oxygen, at any point, during my hospital stay. I need the ultrasound machine for an IV, my veins are small and deep and I have thick skin. Somehow, there is a brand new "Hospital Policy" here that the nurse "Must tourniquet and try to stick patients 2X before they'll even try ultrasound". That's what my nurse told me. Now, either she's sadistic, needs practice or didn't have anybody and didn't want to say. Either way, you Need to start Listening To Your Patients, the. first. time. We know these things about ourselves to avoid personal pain/discomfort and avoid staff wasting unnecessary time. But she did it anyway. Poked me 2X, coworker poked me 1X then, I still had to wait another 35min for someone that knew what they were doing to get an IV in me. After I got some meds and fluids, I didn't see anybody again until I was told I'd be admitted. The transporter was the Only shining light! He was nice, respectful of my things and space and was pleasant the entire time. The daytime nurses on the floor are seriously disinterested in patient care. As I sit here, I asked my nurse for 1of my home meds, it's already been approved by the doc, and I've been waiting on 1 pill for 55min now. My night nurse brought it in to me in less than 10. I know, "it's busier during the day", "patients are awake during the day", "blah,blah,blah". I didn't ask for special meds. I didn't ask for extra. I didn't even ask for an extra dose. Just my pill. The one I take every day. The one that's on my approved list. And nothing. My antibiotics are 90min late and they're just hanging on the IV pole in my room. No sense of urgency. No sense of responsibility. No sense of patient comfort. The Doctors are nice and they seem to care. The team seems to be on the same page with my treatment and plan for discharge. The kitchen should close, fire all of the degenerate staff, burn it down and start over. Seriously, Nobody knows their ass from their forehead and they're not afraid to advertise it. Putting stuff on my tray I'm allergic to. Keeping things from my diet that I'm Not allergic to and that's if I even got a meal at all! (Happened 2X I didn't even get a meal) Can't even read the ingredients on their food boxes sides of their bulk food boxes to tell the difference. Most people stress about getting the wrong meds, I'm worried about getting 2 very specific ingredients. And they're not common. All I hear with my food allergies is, "Oh. That's unique." So, HOW DO YOU MISS IT?!?! There's that and the no utensils, no drinks, wrong items and things from menus that I didn't even know existed ending up on my plate, everything else was awesome! i believe i was basically pushed out within 5 minutes of meeting this " nurse that had a shift change at 3 or 4 o'clock in the morning due to no insurance by a nurse that didnt even care for me. after being told i would be admitted 4 times. my o2 sats continued to stay at 92 % the same thing i was being admitted for until it went to admin to be approved for admittance. i was completly out of it sleeping drooling because the duoneb was helping . i explained that duo neb is the only thing that helps why would they prescribe me something i already told them didnt help. then i called this am because i like most people didnt read the discharge papers was told to go back and be seen. not on your life.because obviously vallewise hospital didnt care about mine. i shouldve known when my mother was told she had bronchitis for 6 months.we took her to a different hospital they diagnosed her with medistinal cancer . a big ol tumor in the middle of her chest that leads to lung cancer. the only reason we didnt sue is because my mom was a kind hearted person that loved and trusted her doctor. we are merly a medical record number and a pay check. remember your oath to do no harm. thats why i left the medical business! thats exactly what this is. question everything if you have a gut feeling trust yourself before anyone else. oh yea hippa is to protect them not you do t sign it! read more

I was finally released by this hospital at 1:30pm after being there from 3am due to high blood pressure and heart rate that was 'alarming' to some. Full disclosure, I broke a glass bowl and a picture frame whilst in a 'hoardy' family spat and cops were called. I told the cop I broke the picture of us and off to jail with me! Mind you these things were not thrown to harm but to prove hoarding is breaking our family to bits. Needless to say, my blood pressure was through the roof at the point that a cop is telling me to get out of the tub and speak with him outside. It only got worse when I was in a jail cell. So they took me to this hospital to make my vital signs lower to a healthier level for intake. Fancy cuffs on a hospital bed attached to a 47 yr old 5ft tall gal that broke glass on purpose. The nurses and the doctor alike looked at me with such distain that you'd think I must be a baby killer. They pumped me full of liquids and something to calm down. Still not sure what as they faxed the jail paperwork partially containing SOMEONE ELSE'S LOG PAGES, HIPAA violation!!!! Need the bathroom? they got a button for that....did not work for me though. After an hour wait, I had to ask the cop outside my door to let them know I was going to pee the bed if I did not get disconnected to get to the bathroom. Upon return, the doctor asked me when my last cycle was, I told him 3 weeks, so I am due. Next test he presses on my abdomen, and I wince and say ouch as he presses on my ovary that is swollen. He takes this as it must be something elevating my levels so I must get a CT scan. A butt load of tests later they say 'all negative, we just don't know why your levels will not come down.' For the tenth time I tell them; I am going to jail, that is why I cannot calm. Finally, after just watching tv and sitting still for hours, my levels started to decrease. It was rather telling how my levels would go up while they were standing there judging me. When the doctor on the next shift (better manners) released me, she said I would be discharged. This was at 9ish. 1:30pm rolls around and the resting bitch face of all bitch faces comes in and takes my vitals one final time and then proceeds to RIP out the IV tubing like one would rip a package of meat open. I could not help but yelp 'you're a brute!' Only then did she realize she is in a nurse uniform abusing power she should not have. I am disgusted with the stigma and the ignorant actions of this hospital staff. Micheal Campbell, I have all your medical info in my hand due to this place, but I will not tell, unlike the professionals at this hospital that are bound by the law but break them as they look down their nose at others. Valley Wise does not follow state law regarding contacting inpatients. they hire the lowest common denominator of people whom make zero effort to actually help those in their care. They create there policies that are not in the patients best interest. With few choices in the state, hard to go to other facilitates for our loved ones in need, so just be prepared to deal with room temperature IQ workers. maybe it's just weekends but patients are there 24/7 so they should in vest in teaching them better. choose a different facility if your given a choice. read more

One of the worst hospitals you can go to if you want your health concerns to be taken seriously. My father sat waiting for bloodwork to occur for 5 hours, they took someone else back with the same last name due to negligence and preformed blood work on them. My father after the 5 hours asked what had occurred asked what was happening since they did nothing to him, a doctor came and told us he had already told my dad he's fine, and that his kidney levels are fine and he could leave. Pure negligence, giving a diagnosis with no treatment, blood work, or testing. Then they have the audacity to give us attitude because my father could be dying and they do nothing. My mother went in for an infection that ended her life due to malpractice on behalf of the hospital staff, she was given medication for a medical condition she was NEVER diagnosis that caused her to go into two cardiac attack in the same day which caused her death at the end due to poor care on behalf of the hospital nurses, lack of food provided to her body, which weakens her immune system with so much medication given to her none stop over and over while their nurse manager and her coworkers were busy dancing goofy off on the hallway of ICU while my mother was getting multiple seizure after seizure and nothing was being done because of the lack of knowledge and staffing that can actually help my mother, it was clear that none of the nurses care about what was going on with my mother. She was just a number in their hospital, I strongly believe that their job is to just sedate their patients administer fentanyl which at the end of the day it does more damage from what I research and which at the end of the day killed my mother, they weren't concerned about saving her life but to keep her calm, and asleep 24/7 until her death which they achieved. Don't bring your love ones to this hospital, poor service on behalf of their nurses and doctors, and the hospital come back was always her medical record as an excuse why she wasn't going to walk away from the hospital, they didn't care to help my mom recover or to save my mother's life , they actually made all her other health issues get worse, at the end of the day the hospital cleans their hands with using her medical record as an excuse why she was a weak person unworthy of living, even though they didn't express it in words, but their actions were clear as water. Unethical activity by the billing department here! I visited the ER in April 2023. I gave them my out of network insurance card, as I am from California and my health provider has no facilities in Arizona. I kept receiving bills in the mail from them, and I called both and them and my insurance company, and I was told to disregard the bills. Fast forward a few months, and they then threaten to send me to collections even after my insurance has contacted them about paying the bill, with both myself and my insurance on the phone with these people. They then told me they would call me back with the results of their "investigation", and never did. Now they have reported me to collections for a debt I do not owe. I will be getting attorneys to deal with this now. Beware of these scam artists, they want you to pay the bill rather then your insurance so they can upcharge you. read more

i went in having a severe asthma attack and kept getting told to "calm down" I COULDNT BREATHE. anyways, i get in and they do my vitals and have me wait in the lobby (im still unable to breathe) and i wait for 2 HOURS and then i get called to do my vitals AGAIN???? after 2 hours and they let me know that ill be waiting in the lobby a bit longer. at this point my boyfriend and i had calmed me down. they are insanely useless and do not care whether it is a life or death situations. I then Went to dignity health in Tempe and they helped me in 15 mins...and I was treated way better. The Pandemic doesn't even give you the right to stop 1 visitor from coming in with the patient. Took my mother to the ER because she's suffering pain and can barely eat any food. Just moved here from Chandler and this was our first hospital experience here in Phoenix. We come in to a waiting room where it's only 3 people so we're grateful we could probably get in sooner than we thought. It's so quiet and there's a desk of security guards and man and a woman. They look directly at us, no greeting, any hint of acknowledgement besides eye contact. Which was our first red flag because what hospital barely recognizes potential patients coming in? No guide or direction coming in either on if we need to check in or what. We sit for almost ten minutes waiting, when two people come in, one limping, and they are speaking with the people up at the desk. Confused, my mother goes to the desk asking do we check in here. The lady says something along the lines of do we need to see a doctor. My mother claims yes but didn't know if we checked in anywhere as no one spoke to her as she walked in. The lady claims they don't call people over or greet them as people just walk in, or they are visiting someone. Well my question is, how would you know if you don't ask? You're telling me you just sit up at the front desk for an EMERGENCY unit and don't say anything? The staff was so apathetic I think if a patient came in bleeding they wouldn't even ask if you needed to see someone. Anyways we push past that, we get in to the room with a nurse who barely introduce themselves just tells us what to do. Another female nurse comes in and barely acknowledges my mother, a patient, on the bed. No signs of empathy or communication strengths apparently. She puts something around my mothers arm not even telling her what it's for. The man put some clips on my moms body and once he's done he yanks it off her?? Once they done they usher her to go back to the waiting room with some sort of wrap around my moms arm. Why not just let her stay in the room im throughly confused. We go back and after waiting a few minutes we decided to go elsewhere where we would receive proper care and some type of empathy a hospital staff is supposed to have. My mom tells the front staff this and the nurse just throws his hands up in the air as if to say 'oh well'. I have NEVER in my life seen such apathetic nurses and staff. All I can describe this place as a whole is sloppy. The care providers are great BUT it is poorly managed from the administration to the billing. Very unprofessional. Very unpleasant to work with as they seem to be unreasonably difficult to communicate with. Billing is coding things very improperly and they are taking advantage of people's pockets instead of billing t insurance properly. I have left and taken my business elsewhere. I came to the new location they opened up cause the other location was closed. I went in for my throat feeling like it was closing up. And I got into a room pretty quick but it took over a hour for me to even be seen/checked on after that. And it took a long time between visits. And they really didn't do anything for me. The other location was more quick and efficient than this new location. The staff was really rude too. If I could give this 0 stars I would. My wife had a bad experience via a previous doctor from a different center, so she was worried about going here but from the start the staff made her feel safe. For well over a year and a half, this location has been an insufferable nightmare when it comes to parking. The last three times I have been scheduled there I had to drive around what little parking they have for patients for 25-35 minutes, only to have to leave and cancel my appointment because there wasn't anywhere for me to get out of my vehicle. Medical offices book far more appointments than there are parking spots, leaving people to park blocks away and have to walk in the searing summer heat to get to a shuttle that only comes every 15 minutes. On the surface of things The Hospital is beautiful and efficient, but if you are homeless like this lady I was in the emergency room with it is completely unprofessional as far as security goes. An old caucasian that was in the ER with me laid down on the couch and nothing was said, A young latino couple moved to one of the small couches where the young latino lady laid down and put her head on her husbands lap and nothing was said, but when a young homeless latino woman came in requesting medical help she laid down on one of the small couches this big African American security guard went over and told her to " sit the fuck up or get out of his ER." She asked why he was being an "asshole" to her and he cursed at her again. Another Big African American security guard came over and he also cursed at her. In my opinion security personal are supposed to be professional that means treating the patients of the hospital with as much dignity as possible. I understand they need to get forceful sometimes but cursing at patients that are there to get medical help is COMPLETELY unprofessional. So that is why I am saying that I think the security at ValleyWise Hospital on Roosevelt and 24 st is the bottom of the barrel. They are unprofessional, and bullies. My girlfriend is African American I am caucasian, the reason I'm telling you this is because when we went there she arrived at 10:30pm by ambulance when I arrived there later I sat down beside her wrapped my arm around her shoulders and from that time on for 7 hours I felt like I was being mad dogged by both African American security guards. Once again in my opinion I think this was because they don't care if we are happy together or not I think they only saw the color difference. This is also unprofessional for a security team that is there to protect the rights of its patients and the hospital staff. My girlfriend and I sat there for 7 hours while others were taken back to rooms and other waiting rooms, why is that? They said it was because they were full but when we finally gave up and went home they took another patient back that arrived an hour after my girlfriend did. I've had 53 auguries. I'd say that makes me an expert on hospital care. Or in this case the high lack of any type of service. Once in with the dr. It was just a joke! I tried showing and telling her where it hurts I may as well said nothing! She completely ignored me never once even inspected the area I physically showed her. She literally looked at her assistant and told her to ask me if I wanted a bandaid on it !! On what ??whats wrong with me! I'm passing blood over here!!!idiots. The only time i saw the women behind the counter move was when the Indian women threaten to leave. Immediately all the ladies from behind the desk yelling at them to wait!! They ignored every patient in there so they could go beg for purses. Worst example of customer care that I've ever seen! They then just each sat and stroked their horse hair purses. They didn't give a shit about any patient in that place. At this point I was still miserable! They couldn't have cared less! These people get off on other peoples misery. I was minutes away from dying of a burst bladder. Their container holds 1L. I easily over flowed it by 300ml. Just set it there for them to do whatever with it. NOW, the guy after me had the right idea. He decided that seeing as the bowl was clean, but had no toilet paper! He figured out! Cover the outside of the bowl with shit! That's what he did! Looks like a big Hershey kiss! The smell was capable of homicide, that is a truth!! Oh. OH! Don't forget to order the Asian soup. You know the one. The that looks like it's covered in shit, so it would fit in with the rest of the place. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!! The same people handling the shit we're handling the food!would I recommend? I am a Traveling Phlebotomist from Baltimore, Maryland who was there for about a month at the Comprehensive Medical Center from October to November. During my time there, I tried to use my expertise to help the lab grow and run as smoothly as possible. Well unfortunately, my contract was terminated on Nov 15th due to hearsay from other techs, and personal feelings towards me and my way of working. And I'm not sure if you were aware of my termination, but the execution was very unprofessional and unexpected. The day I was terminated, there was a staff meeting with both Courtney and Brian and NEITHER one came to me. I got a text from my recruiter while still in the building that my contract was terminated and to turn in my badge. Courtney spoke to me about issues with staff because apparently, I didn't want to do something from weeks back and using profanity in front of patients. It didn't come from the Lead because she wasn't there yet. I signed a form for a test that was mislabeled; I missed it because I was doing both pc and drawing blood. It got so bad that I missed a specimen stability because i had too much to do and techs in my ear telling me what to do. One particular tech (Odalsis) has an attitude and thinks she runs the lab; would say under handed remarks or try to have me to do more things than one. I had to stop and tell her, I can't to both Pc and Phlebotomy. But of course, I can't say anything to her because I'm a male and older than her. I'm going to be Honestly; my Race played a big part and the fact I don't speak Spanish was also challenging. I tried to the best of ability to understand while still keeping it professional and keep the flow going. Odalis even went to Courtney to complain about what? and this particular day; she was gone for about 30mins or more while we struggling to keep up with patients. I expressed this to Courtney, and it seem like she didn't care how I felt just wanted me to work. I had to speak to Courtney herself before because of her attitude when asking a question and got smart with me. It became a Hostile work environment, and I should have said something once it did. One thing for certain I am a Professional and have been doing this work for Years without complaint nor termination. They took the words of an 18yr old who only been working for 3 months and nowhere near professional to dictate my Livelihood. Not only defamed my character but left me without a job. I had to find my way back home to Maryland and pay off where I was staying to work there. Had I not had the money, I would have been stranded in Phoenix. I was embarrassed and my feelings were hurt, because I genuinely was liking the area and what it had to offer. Once the Lead (Saida) came, my comfortability went out the window and I actually wanted to end my contract myself. Saida was probably the most difficult person I have had as a Lead. She didn't want to listen to anything I had to offer, advise etc. Everything I would suggest, she would have a negative attitude to everything. She listens to Respond and Not Understand, and I have express to Courtney as well. I met you once in the lab with some ideas; and you appreciated them. Yet those same ideas were shot down by Saida for whatever reason. Even a couple staff members also told me they don't like working with her because her attitude and leadership skills are not up to par. I just find it even more interesting that when they finally hired a couple people; they didn't show up for Orientation but still had a job the next week. Hired again, and decided to let me go because they fully staffed. Leana was the tech that honestly helped me out and kept me sane. She even invited me to her Thanksgiving that I wasn't able to be a part of. Leana should have been Lead in my eyes; not someone from Peoria who only sees less than 50 pts a day. The experience I had at ValleyWise was overall was not what I had expected nor ever want to experience again. Just for future references if you want a traveler; make sure they fit the criteria you are looking for and can work under a hostile environment. You have a Lab with Great Potential, but not if it's operated by staff who don't Respect, Appreciate nor Understand others who are there to provide much needed help. I didn't want to leave an online review or anything. I wanted to go straight to the person who oversees the department, so this situation won't happen to another traveler. read more

Es el peor hospital ,viví la pesadilla más espantosa por la negligencia del personal, no tienen compasión ni empatía Monique la representante del "excelent service" es de lo peor no les importa la salud ni la vida de la gente solo sirven para cobrar cantidades ridículas por el pésimo servicio y las sucias instalaciones gente como ella no deberían trabajar aquí. It was my primary hospital but I can't go here anymore. They keep you on hold for ungodly long, then they transfer you and you'll be on hold again. Then if you opt in for their call back system, they never call you back. If you stay on hold, they hang up on you. If they do finally answer, they put you on hold again. Their website boasts setting up appointments but it doesn't actually let you. I can't get an appointment for myself, I can't get cardiology to call me back, I can't get pediatrics to even answer their phones. I can't believe this place is even in business. I'm finding a new hospital and never coming here again, not that I could even get in to see them in the first place! read more
