Great gallery, and equally great people. The gallery features distinguished art by artist Toni Lavalle.

Mission Galleria Riverside, CA…read more Date went 11/8/25 (Saturday) Time went 12:13pm (it was packed, and busier than I've seen it since my last two times I've came here) Atmosphere: I've been to 5 thrift/antiques stores in the Riverside/CA area in the past 2 days, and this one is by far the biggest and has the most to look at. There is literally something for everyone to buy in this 4 floor jammed packed store. Prices $ Mm this one is a bit tricky, while there are a lot of special pieces in this store I feel like there are some pieces that are overpriced (like fast fashion clothing items) juxtaposed to beloved and nostalgic beanie babies being priced for no more than $12.00 (which I expected the prices to be higher). So, honestly it's quite a hit and miss and dependent on your tastes. I'm not sure if this location haggles either as I have not purchased something from here yet. This is the only thing holding me back from eating it 5 stars. Worth it? I'd recommend this location to everyone honestly, even if it's just to kill time. My boyfriend and I spent around 3 hours in here easy, and I believed we may have met the owners (not sure) as well on the bottom floor organizing a display case. I can't remember the man's name, but I believe the woman's name was Jodi and they shared that they've been married for 30 years.

What stood out just as much as the artwork was the building itself, which is beautiful and full of character. I especially loved the courtyard, which provided a peaceful space to slow down and take everything in. The gift shop was also excellent, with a great selection of unique items that felt carefully chosen rather than generic museum souvenirs. Between the art, architecture, and atmosphere, it was a wonderful way to spend an afternoon appreciating creativity in a truly beautiful setting.

If you purchase a ticket to the Cheech, the RAM is included in your ticket price, or if you start at the RAM, the Cheech will be included that day. I came to the RAM this time around, specifically, for the 60 Miles East exhibit. This exhibit ends on 4/12, so make sure to swing by before then if you want to catch it. The exhibit contained many flyers, pictures, art, and even ticket stubs that brought me back to my childhood. It was in a clean and open space that made the experience enjoyable. This exhibit takes up only one room and there are other spaces to check out for additional art exhibits. I did notice less art, this time around, than in previous visits and many open spaces/walls were not taken up. Overall, I'm glad I got to enjoy this exhibit, before it ends, and it really highlights the Inland Empire's music scene as an important piece of diverse culture. Enjoy!

If you're in Southern California…read moreand looking for something fun, cultural, and honestly just good for the soul this summer, I highly recommend checking out the Cheech Marin Cultural Center right in the heart of downtown Riverside. The whole space is vibrant, colorful, and full of life. Every room pulls you in the murals, of the Chicano art, the storytelling, the history and creativity. It's one of those places where you walk in and immediately feel connected to something bigger. Whether you're doing a solo day visit on a date, or just exploring with family, this spot is worth the trip. The energy is warm, the exhibits are thoughtful, and the art is just flat‑out beautiful. Add it to your summer list you won't regret it. Enjoy

Once you are done with the downstairs, there's not much on the upstairs except for an art center and a few other minor things from his collections. I wish they would expand it at some point, or if there was some sort of discount or benefit for someone else who doesn't bank with Bank of America. Something that keeps the admission price lower.

I waited a bit, and the lady who works there came running up to open the door about 5-10 minutes after opening time. I wasn't upset about it at all...I understand things happen. So if you get there right at opening and the doors are still locked, give it a few minutes. I found the experience worth the small wait. This place makes phenomenal fruit wines, and I would definitely say that's their bread and butter. I'm usually a Cabernet Sauvignon drinker, but surprisingly, I didn't think their traditional reds and whites were as good as the fruit wines. The fruit wines were definitely the standout for me. The decor here is gorgeous! I was such a fan of the overall look and feel of the place. The service was also very kind and welcoming. This is a nice little hidden gem that I would recommend, especially if you're looking for a calm and relaxing place to enjoy some wine.

Overall, I loved the ambiance, the ample parking, and the fact that they host different events. Last night was line dancing, and it was so much fun! This was my second visit. The first time, I ordered a wine flight. The selections were okay, not necessarily my personal favorites, but it made for a cute photo. This time, I went straight to Princeton for guidance. After learning my palate, he recommended two wines. One wasn't for me, but the other? Absolutely amazing! It was a creation by Ana, who I believe is the manager, and I went from a tasting to, "I'll take the bottle!" At $28, it was absolutely worth it and honestly, worth even more. Shhh... that one might be my little secret!
