Each time I shop here, it feels like I'm the one bringing the good vibes instead of being met with them. It's disappointing, especially since this is my local store and one I really wanted to enjoy. My wife and I had a very disappointing experience at the Smart & Final in Huntington Park (Store…read more#790) today around 9:00-9:30 a.m. My wife was standing in line at the only open register preparing to check out when an assistant manager named Blanca (last name unknown) opened another register. She attempted to get my wife's attention to let her know the register was open, but at that moment my wife was briefly on her phone trying to download the Smart & Final app and did not hear her. Instead of speaking up politely, waiting a moment, or assisting other customers, Blanca snapped her fingers directly in my wife's face to get her attention. This was extremely rude, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable--especially from a member of management. We have been shopping at Smart & Final for over 25 years and have frequented this specific location since it first opened, as we live just up the street. In all those years, we have never experienced behavior like this from any employee. That made this incident especially disappointing. Snapping fingers at a customer is disrespectful and not how anyone should be treated while shopping. Management should be setting the example for professionalism and customer service, not doing the opposite. We would appreciate hearing from Smart & Final corporate regarding how this situation will be addressed and what steps will be taken to ensure customers are treated with respect moving forward.

Going to all those stores helps me appreciate the great value that is provided by Food 4 Less. Everything that you can get at Ralphs you can get at F4L and at a better price. The store isn't the most attractive to the eye, but for the most part it stays pretty well kept and there aren't food products thrown on the floor. Sure you might not find dragon fruit or some of your more exotic greens but they have a very good variety. Also, if you want alcohol this is the place to visit. At Ralphs when a bottle of Ciroc is on "sale" it is priced at $30. At F4L you can get the same bottle when it is on sale for $20. That is just one of the many examples of the saving you can have at this place. The lines sometimes can get long but unlike El Super on State and Firestone the lines actually move here and the people working the registers are really nice. There are a couple of guys that could use a smile in their lives, but for the most part everyone is nice and attentive. I go out of my way to do my grocery shopping here on the weekends because they deserve it.
