*Check the expiration dates! Store is big and has a great selection of fresh produce. Carries many staples that can't easily be sourced locally. One of the security guards is incredibly ignorant but just ignore him and do your thing. Rent a cop acted like he was "allowing" me to shop with my service animal. Pedro has been with me for the last 11 years and goes where I go. Helps when I need help. I just ignored him as the oranges deserve more attention. I thought about educating him regarding both federal and California law pertaining to service animals but I'm sure his high school teachers tried to reach him as well to no avail. I think the produce here is the best in HP and while I don't need anything in bulk this is still my go-to for staples. Rude security guard or not. Also, half off rotisserie chicken at night! read more

My wife and I had a very disappointing experience at the Smart & Final in Huntington Park (Store #790) today around 9:00-9:30 a.m. My wife was standing in line at the only open register preparing to check out when an assistant manager named Blanca (last name unknown) opened another register. She attempted to get my wife's attention to let her know the register was open, but at that moment my wife was briefly on her phone trying to download the Smart & Final app and did not hear her. Instead of speaking up politely, waiting a moment, or assisting other customers, Blanca snapped her fingers directly in my wife's face to get her attention. This was extremely rude, unprofessional, and completely unacceptable--especially from a member of management. We have been shopping at Smart & Final for over 25 years and have frequented this specific location since it first opened, as we live just up the street. In all those years, we have never experienced behavior like this from any employee. That made this incident especially disappointing. Snapping fingers at a customer is disrespectful and not how anyone should be treated while shopping. Management should be setting the example for professionalism and customer service, not doing the opposite. We would appreciate hearing from Smart & Final corporate regarding how this situation will be addressed and what steps will be taken to ensure customers are treated with respect moving forward. read more

Pulled up a five minutes before closing at 10 to get milk that we ran out of and they already have the doors locked and will not let anyone in, having worked retail before we could never lock the doors until closing time. read more

This location is beyond terrible and borderline unsafe. I bought some pudding cups one night and just as I was about to eat one I noticed it had been expired for a week. I started checking dates on everything I buy there since then and they are constantly, and I do mean constantly, selling expired food. I've had to put back items like ground beef, baby food pouches and produce because they were expired/spoiled. We go there out of convenience because of the proximity to our home but tonight will be our last time. My 7 year old almost ate moldy strawberries that my husband just purchased hours prior. And yes, I have brought up the expired items issue to a worker multiple times and clearly nothing is being done about it. This location seriously needs to be shut down or at the very least inspected by a health inspector. read more

I come here periodically when I need something which other stores don't carry and my experience is usually ok. I always check the expiration dates because they tend to have short dated products especially in the milk section. But this item it was really bad, the sausages were 1 year expired !! How is it possible to have products which expired a year ago and you still have them up for sale ?! They were also out of stock on two key items I needed, first street floor wipes,, which were in sale and lasagna pasta. I had to go to another store to get them. read more

The customer service here is always terrible. Management, please keep an eye on a cashier named Yen, jenn, or yenn whatever her name is. This lady angrily threw my bags at me today. This incident happened around 2:50 pm in the smart and final next to the catholic church in florence. The moment I stepped towards the register i felt her malice instantly. Fire her immediately. She shouldnt be working if shes going to treat customers like garbage. I was going to tell her something but I was not going to waste my energy on her. If she hates her job so much she should get an education and work somewhere else. She keeps that up, one day she will meet the wrong customer who is going to put her in her place. read more

This location has a large variety and is well stocked. The other location that is also well stocked and has a large variety is the Montebello location. I visited on 8/31 at approximately 9 pm. I'd like to start by saying that the Security Officer greets customers and is very courteous. I love this place unlike the location in the City of Bell. The location in Bell has rude employees and a Security Officer that believes he is a cop, staring at people with an attitude without saying a word. The Huntington Park location is clean on the inside and outside. I recommend this location compared to others. read more

I used to like coming here when it first opened but little by little I noticed that they would run out of a lot of products I used to come shop here for. One time I came and only found one item of what I had on my list. They also haven't had the roasted chickens anymore and I called to ask if they had any and they said their not gonna have any for another 2 months. I'm only gonna shop here for emergencies and hopefully they'll have the item I'm looking for in stock. read more

I've had to go multiple times for last minute event supplies. This location is a little further than me but I don't mind doing the drive because it's usually well stocked. Parking kind of sucks, they do have more parking on the upper level but with a toddler that's not very feasible. Various times I was helped by Marilyn she was so sweet and very engaged in conversation. She seemed very genuine and welcoming. read more

This store started off strong but the quality and services have declined. They were once fully stocked but not so much now ( especially on products on sale). I have have gone to this Smart and Final on the day the specials began and was told they the product was out of stock. Just started coming here since I moved down the street and it's very convenient buttt since going there the "fresh groceries" are not so fresh, all the veggies are rotten and it's been out of stock every time I go. Maybe I go at a bad time all the time but come on. I just want to to start throwing things away and I don't even work there, I've never in my life been to a grocery store with such products read more

I've lived in Cudahy since early last year and I've been trying to find a calm and clean grocery store nearby. The parking here is not terrible either. Bad customer service, went in for an order, they lack basic common sense. I went in for a Shipt order and was refused service because they couldn't comprehend what a technical issue meant. So I went to another lane, and I saw the same guy call another employee whose lane I didn't even check out at. Then they synchronized hanging up the other employee looked at me and I already knew he called to tell her not to service the Shipt order. Messing with front line workers, smh. And they call themselves managers super childish, and a waste of my time. So she couldn't comprehend English I guess, should've spoken in Spanish, and this isn't to be insensitive like I just don't get it. And the pettiness and disrespect, she the. Called him AGAIN to supposedly verify my story and what he had done, cause the customer is t always right here, guilty until proven innocent and of COURSE, he lied, didn't just lie but made up a completely phony response. Just walked in there and felt attacked, for no reason, even say like I was wrong, the way they disrespected me and handled the situation was childish and just wrong, super unprofessional esp for "managers". And they were aggressive. Something in the water here Canceled the order which sucks, but ain't nobody got time for that childish behavior. Shipt is aware, thankfully they have common sense. Wouldn't come here again for nothing will be calling the REAL manager in the morning to complain about their behavior read more

Occasionally, their lines can be long but it's okay, they seem to be understaffed whenever that occurs. The cashiers are friendly and work fast, I've had good interactions with many of them. Side note, the cashier Nancy is an absolute beauty. read more

I'm glad they have this S&F in HP. All the lazy idiots fight for parking at the lower level but just drive up to the upper level and you can park right next to the elevator and chill and avoid all the knuckleheads at the lower level parking. parking upstairs is just as close as parking downstairs, you just step into the elevator and go down. Unless you are such a fat, lazy, and have an empty vessel for a head, park upstairs during busy hours. They are doing a great job of keeping the place clean and graffiti free. The problem I have with this store is that about 50% or more of the things I come to buy here, take over two weeks to get back in stock. This is a combination of their contracted suppliers/stockers not restocking items that obviously sell well, as well as the store not keeping a good tab on the items that fall under its responsibility. It really is bad in that aspect. The other issue is they allow people with flat carts full, with 30 items or more, to use the 10 items or less, while there's people in the same line waiting with 2 or 3 items. The customers don't give a shit and the employees don't give a shit. read more

Horrible service, went in earlier this week to purchase some items and looked for the S&F brand IRIS 36ct. toilet paper that was on sale and were out of stock so I asked the cashier for a rain check, went back today to purchase that same item that was out of stock earlier this week and they did not honor the rain check because apparently they couldn't recognize the cashier's signature and was told that there was no mgr. that signed off on it, needless to say this was the last time I set foot there. I've had problems there b/4 where some of the cashier's that move like molasses to attend to their customers. Management should properly train these people when it comes to customer service and/or something as simple as a rain check. What a SAD scenario being that the store's new and pretty nice.
