PLEASE NOTE: This review only addresses ONE specific issue. Both Dr. Ho and her assistant Sue were every bit as kind and helpful as mentioned in all the other reviews. The office was appealing and professional, and as with others who've reviewed them, they were able to fit me in on very short notice. Even their pricing was extremely fair and reasonable. My ONLY issue concerns their treatment of a cold sore with a diode laser. After doing some online research, I called and was told that this was something with which they had experience, and that it would either prevent or shorten the duration of my cold sore. In fact, it did neither -- and, whether coincidentally or not, my cold sore actually lasted far LONGER than any I'd ever had. Since Dr. Ho had asked me to let know her the results, I did -- but it did cause me to wonder if, in fact, she perhaps did not have as much experience in this particular treatment as I'd been led to believe. I'm sure Dr. Ho is a wonderful dentist, and deserves all the 5-star reviews on this site. I just wanted to alert anyone who's considering going for this particular treatment that it may or may not work, so they won't be as disappointed as I was. read more

Both my parents are patients of Dr Ho, and they love her. Too bad I live in Orange County. Dr Ho really takes good care of my parents who are in their 60s. My dad doesn't have dental insurance, and he couldn't afford the out of pocket costs for his implants. Instead of pressuring him into getting it done, Dr Ho gave him other more affordable options. You think dentists are always out there to get your money? Not Dr Ho. She will give you a very honest opinion and never offer services that you don't need. Before each procedure, she will sit down with you and explain it to you. I'm so thankful that my parents have found a dentist they both can trust. read more

My experience with Dr. Ho was everything I could want from a dental visit. The reception staff were friendly and served me immediately. The facilities were clean and pleasant. Dr. Ho did a great job cleaning my teeth even though it has been a few years since my last dental visit, due to being out of the country for a few years. She was thorough in the cleaning and in the exam and took the time to clearly explain to me what she was doing along the way and how I could proactively improve care for my teeth. She patiently answered all of my questions and I learned some things about caring for my teeth that I had never known before. The unnerving sound of the drill, the pain and not knowing what they are doing to your teeth are all reasons why I am weary of going to the dentists. Dr. Ho really broke that barrier down for me. I can see why she gets such a high rating. I came in here due to some discomfort with a crown placed by another dentist, after my trust in him had been shaken. I was convinced it was infected and I was due for a big ordeal. She examined me thoroughly, listened to all of my concerns, and seemed extremely knowledgable. She also seemed somewhat dismayed at my previous treatment. She wound up filing the crown down a bit after taking the time to check my bite. She is very gentle and takes the time to really explain things...without you having to ask. Also Sue in the front office is terrific...very professional and thorough (I've never even had someone explain the "dental fact sheet" to me before...) and checked out all my insurance before I even arrived. I'll be becoming a patient here as soon as I need my next cleaning & xrays, and will update my review as necessary but really, we're off to a great start. read more

I have been a patient at Dr. Vanessa Ho's dental practice for the past 8 years. I have received nothing but the best service and care from her office. Right when you walk in, you are greeted by the nicest receptionist, Sue. She is so knowledgeable about insurance plans and is always great at getting me in when it fits my schedule. Then, you are escorted in to see Dr. Ho. She is very professional but also very personable. She takes time to explain all procedures to you and she always answers all my questions. She is up to date with the latest dental technologies. Digital x-rays, laser gum treatments, minimally invasive dental techniques, iPad education, you name it and she has it. I definitely recommend Dr. Ho to anyone looking for a dentist! read more

I highly recommend Dr. Ho. My kids aren't very excited about going to the dental visits, but she made the experience a positive one for them. She was really gentle, yet thorough. I needed to do this review a while ago, but wanted to make sure I could do it justice when I could devote the time to writing it. Long story short, prior to becoming a patient of Dr. Ho, I had an almost year long problem with a front tooth that started as a fairly simple procedure (previous veneer that chipped), escalating to endless visits to the dentist because of faulty veneers, more "drilling/prepping" and eventually turning into a full crown. It was a physically and emotionally traumatizing time because of the lack of communication about my procedure and essentially not having a front tooth for almost a year (imagine trying to put on and take off a temporary tooth just to eat and smile for almost a year). After all that, I finally got fed up and decided to find someone else who I could trust to fix this growing problem. I went to probably 5 dentists to compare and get opinions. Susan, Dr. Ho's office manager was truly amazing and comforting as a person who wasn't trying to get my business but actually make sure they could take care of my immediate needs as well as do the job right. She was one of the reasons why I trusted that office. Dr. Ho was transparent about my diagnosis but also encouraged me to find the person who I felt most comfortable with taking care of my needs. In a sea of LA dentists who are trying to sell you a fake fluorescent smile and charge you up the wazoo, Dr. Ho is the opposite. Not only that, she was confident that she could return my smile to it's normal state and was honest about everything. It was a rough start given my current situation but the final thing that sealed the deal with me was the lab they use for veneers/crowns/bridges/implants etc. I didn't want this fake perfect looking tooth, I wanted the most aesthetically natural tooth to fit in with my existing smile and one that could not be detected as a "crown". The technician is an absolute artist as well as a perfectionist in color matching, fit and aesthetics. I couldn't believe how perfect the shape of the tooth was and how it blended in perfectly. My smile has been restored, better than ever! My tooth still has some sensitivity after having had so many procedures but it's getting a little better as time goes on. I'm thankful that I stuck with my instinct and let Dr. Ho give me the best results that I could have ever asked for! I highly recommend this office if you are looking for honesty and the best care possible for your dental needs. read more

Dr. Ho is the best! She is highly skilled, a great professional, and very knowledgeable. She also takes the time to explain what's going on with your teeth and gums in a way that anyone can understand. Unlike other dentists, Dr. Ho teaches you how to solve the problem and helps you take better care of your teeth so you're better off in the long run. Dr. Vanessa Ho is the best dentist in Burbank!!!!!!!!!! I had an emergency and needed to find a dentist quit. I hadn't been to the dentist in years and called early in the morning and had an appointment within an hour. The love and warmth that Dr. Vanessa showed was astounding. She wants to make sure your in the best care and explains everything in detail and shows you everything. I was a smoker for almost 20 years (the cause for me to see a dentist) and she came up with options best suited for me. She could have taken advantage of me and saw the $$$ she would have gotten off me but that's not in her heart. What is in her heart is to help her patients in anyway she can. Honestly she changed my life, the road I was going I would have ended up really sick. I can't thank her enough for what she did for me. Dr. Ho's office is very comfy. When I am there I know I am in good hands. She is very gentle and super knowledgable. She helped me understand what was important about my teeth. Dr, Vanessa Ho is as good as a dentist can get. I have had probably two hundred Novocain shots in my life and she is the best by far. Her manner is caring and confident. Her staff is warm and efficient. Sue, the front desk manager, is so specific re: insurance/prices/billing, you always feel they are on your side. They make YOUR dental care the first priority and their "business" is not even an issue or a thought. You don't feel "it's a line". Also, Annie, Dr. Ho's assistant, is very sweet and attentive and that is comforting. I have also recommended a few friends to Dr. Ho. Even if I move out of Burbank (but still in SoCal) I'll be seeing Dr. Ho twice a year. I used to hate going to the dentist, now I don't mind it as much. read more
