I've always had "bad experiences" with dentists before, but Vanessa Gloor has now officially changed that for me! (: She's incredibly caring, kind, patient, understanding, practical and knowledgeable. When I first arrived, she made me feel SO welcomed and comfortable, that I actually couldn't wait to get in the dental chair - for once! Haha We were able to address major issues right away, and schedule a follow up for further treatment within an incredibly reasonable amount of time, (not more than a week)! Even with COVID impacting her practice by not having an assistant, you wouldn't even know it by how tentative, friendly and calming her energy is. She's truly a gem, and I feel incredibly blessed to have discovered her - especially with the impact of COVID on our society today. I honestly cannot wait to see her again, and I truly never thought I would ever say that about a dentist! Haha If you are looking for excellent, friendly, and personalized dental care, then please give Dr. Gloor a try! You will not regret it, nor will you be displeased! (: read more

I'm not sure if this reflects on her practice, but just a warning to not send your teens to work for Vanessa Gloor. She specifically recruits high school students as assistants so she can take her stress and anger out on them. She will constantly belittle and yell at your teens for no reason. I called the school to remove her post for teen job options but please do not let your kids work for her. read more

my experience has been extremely unpleasant. She seemed to have the tendency to talk down to her young assistants and allow her dog in the room even during oral practices (without asking if the patient is allergic). Her payroll seems to be very disorganized. read more

Finally a dentist as good as the family dentist from my childhood! Dr. Gloor is truly a gentle and kind dentist - great with my kids, compassionate to people with fear or aversion to dentistry. Just as important, she has integrity and does not "over-diagnose". When I came to her, I had a sore tooth that already had a filling and I even said to her that I was worried I would need a root canal. She tested in many ways and then informed me I just needed to have the filling filed down a little. She did this for a reasonable charge and my tooth felt fine after a few days. I went back to her for a check-up, and she gave my teeth a clean bill of health. I was stunned. My previous dentist had told me that I had a lot of work that needed to be done and we had started on her list, and then she moved out of town. So I expected to hear about cavities. Dr. Gloor told me that many dentist "over-diagnose", which is the industry's polite way of saying that dentists LIE about people needing work on healthy teeth so they can make more money! I had no idea this was done! I will be eternally grateful to Dr. Gloor for her honest assessment of my teeth. My kids have been going to Dr. Gloor since they were little (about 9 years ago) and they feel very comfortable with her, including my daughter who used to have a real fear of dentists. I remember at her first appointment Dr. Gloor started by chatting with her in the waiting room before going in to the room with all the scary dental equipment. Dr. Gloor explains what she is going to do so you know what's coming. Dr. Gloor also seems to keep up with the latest technology, including newer x-ray machines that use less radiation. I sometimes still miss my first dentist, Dr. Warren Chan in Concord, but now my family and I again have a dentist who truly takes care of us. read more

She's certainly gentle and concerned about making things (mostly) pain free and comfortable. However, her billing practices are disorganized and far worse than any dentist I've ever dealt with, and I've been a patient with many over the years. read more

Most wonderful dentist I've ever met, and I've met many more than the average person because I've moved a lot. I felt so comfortable in her office. Kim is great and helped me feel welcome. Dr. Gloor really taught me a lot about how to take better care of my teeth, did a great cleaning & exam, and was very kind. I'd recommend her to anyone. read more

Dr Gloor has been taking care of my teeth for several years now. Before Dr Gloor, my teeth was in a state of disarray and now, strong and healthy. She is very pleasant to work with. The small garden and the colored fluorescent light covers are really nice too look at while Dr Gloor makes sure my teeth are in tip top shape. Her staff is also great and the magazine selection in the lobby is awesome while you wait (which isn't too long) for your appointment. read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Gloor for several years. Every visit to her office has been pleasant. She takes great care in making sure that her patients are comfortable. With soft music (of your choosing) it's a very peaceful environment. I've always been self conscious about my stained and crooked front teeth. Dr. Gloor explained a procedure that would correct them and could be completed in a few visits. I had the procedure done and I couldn't be happier! The cost was extremely reasonable especially considering more expensive alternatives. I recommend Dr. Gloor to anyone seeking a gentle and caring dentist. read more

Dr. Gloor, Cindy and Kelly make the best team you could ask for in a dentist office. I have been seeing Dr. Gloor every 6 months for at least 10 years now. You will be glad you came as you will find straight talk about your dental needs. She has a small office that has all the dental services you might need available. My wife and kids love them too! You won't regret scheduling your appointment. read more

I love this woman. As someone who has a real fear of dentists she has made me feel welcomed, comfortable and completely in control. Her gentle, yet firm demeanor gives you the information you need and the helping hand you want. read more

My visit with Dr. Gloor was amazing! I loved that we started our conversation with her asking how I feel about the dentist and what my previous experience had been. She put me at ease and we reworked my negative preconceived notions of the dentist! My cleaning was quick, painless, and even enjoyable! I've chosen to continue seeing Dr. Gloor for aligners and I look forward to working with her! read more

Dr. Vanessa Gloor is a SUPERIOR dentist! I have been her patient for years -- decades?-- and she has always done what needs to be done, with efficiency and concern. Previously, I had gone to dentists who were more interested in fixing their bank accounts than fixing my teeth, leaving me with some very expensive teeth! Vanessa has fixed what needs to be fixed, and supplied lots of good advice. She is also very conveniently located in Walnut Creek. She will be my dentist forever! read more

I came to Gloor for a cleaning only. I specified I only want a cleaning. She poked my gums several times while she was cleaning them. Then after I get back my claim form which was sent to the wrong P.O. Box. But then I notice I've been charged for extra services I didn't receive or ask for. I called her about it and we spoke about it saying she will fix it but the whole time she was being very rude. But guess what? It never got fixed and she just sent the bill with the extra services to the right PO Box this time and I got charged for it. This whole process took 5 months for nothing to be changed. Worst dentist I have ever been to with horrible billing practices. read more

Dr. Gloor provides far and away the best dental experience I've ever had. She is so sweet and welcoming. I recently had 8 fillings done in one sitting (don't judge me), and not once during the whole 2.5 hour procedure did I ever feel any pain. That is pretty impressive. She is friendly and really good about explaining everything she was doing. Sincerely love this woman and even though I am moving across the country, I will schedule my dental checkups with her whenever I'm back to visit my family. read more

I highly recommend Dr. Vanessa Gloor and her incredible colleague Kim! My experience as a new patient has been a positive one. I found the doctor through Yelp and called on a Saturday to book the first appointment. Kim was so accommodating and prompt with calling me back past working hours on a Saturday to book my appointment since I am a new patient. During the procedure, Dr. Gloor was very caring, understanding and gentle with my teeth and gums. She showed me how to properly floss my teeth, educated me on laser treatments. I like that the Doctor is up to speed on different trends in the dental industry. The dental office is so cozy with nice wallpaper, garden and is overall well put together. I felt welcomed and cared for. I appreciate this! Thank you! Wishing Dr. Gloor and Kim continued success and happiness! read more

I'm going to be honest, my experience with this has been negative, and not all of it Dr. Gloor's fault. However, I really needed to be seen the day of my appointment, and was turned away. Admittedly, I was late getting to the first appt, and had to reschedule, which Dr. Gloor graciously did, and I missed this 2nd appt. The day of the 2nd appointment I was depressed, and fell asleep and was horrified to realize I missed the one appointment I was so looking forward to. I realize this is wrong, and was grateful that she decided to give me one more chance, but this time I had to bring $120 with me if I wanted to be seen. Ok, I understand. The situation I am in is I am leery of dentists. I had my mouth wired shut twice years ago and the Dr. that did this procedure wasn't the most sensitive. It was a brutal experience and because of this I avoided dentists and am now suffering because my teeth are in terrible shape. I am in pain, and need to do something to fix this. This has been an emotional experience and I needed help. I drove an hour to get to Dr. Gloors office and made it exactly on time, but at the time my phone was dying and of course my car charger wasn't working. I had to stop on the side of the road on the freeway because I didn't want to miss my exit and my phone was dying. I sat there crying and to my embarrassment a CHP officer was at my window to see why I was there. I explained to him where I needed to go, and he was so very kind and told me to follow him off the freeway which I did. He then pointed me in the right direction and I am grateful for his help. I make it to Dr. Gloor's office at the exact time of my appt. but I needed to find out what suite she was in as there were a lot of offices, but my phone as I said was dying and took forever to load the number provided in the confirmation email I was sent didn't work. It took a while to get the suite number and by this time it is past my appointment time and when I got to her office I was turned away. I left and cried in my car, composed myself and it took a lot of courage but I went back into the office and told them I was willing to wait until after her 2 next patients were seen if she was willing. The receptionist, who was a sweet girl, really tried but was told no, and so I went home. There are times when things just don't go right. I understand Dr. Gloor's, and other dentists on the importance of being late, they have other patients that do show up on time, and being late interrupts this schedule and this isn't fair to everyone else. But I was willing to wait for everyone else to be seen even if it took hours. I must have really needed to be seen if I were willing to do this. I had driven an hour to get there, finally made it there and to be turned away was kind of cold. My apologies for my timing, it wasn't my intention to be late, but I really needed to be seen. I can't eat or talk just biting down causes extreme pain and the weekend was a long time to wait. I couldn't wait for this appointment, and to have to go all the way back home was so extremely disappointing. NOTE: I forgot to mention that the original appt time for today was for 3:15 which was made over the phone. In the confirmation email I received, the time was changed to 4:15 which was by then major commute time. Had the original time been the same I would have had sufficient time to get there. read more

Dr.Gloor and her staff make visiting the dentist a pleasant experience! My boys are 3 and 6 and actually LOVE GOING TO THE DENTIST! Her approach is gentle and creative with the kids. When I went in for a cleaning, it was almost like I was at the spa. Natalie Cole on in the background, they gave me a cloth for my forehead with my choice of essential oil. As a mom of 2 small kids, if I can go to the dentist and walk away feeling like I just treated myself to some relaxation, that's a bonus! She also has a dental laser, so she almost never has to use Novocaine or a drill! read more

Vanessa is a wonderful dentist and uses state of the art technology in her practice. The care and understanding that she has for her patients is unbelievable. I have several friends rave about her to me about how wonderful she is prior to me knowing her. I would highly recommend visiting and using Vanessa with your dentistry needs especially if you have had bad experiences like myself in the past with other dentists. Thank you Vanessa! read more

Dr. Gloor was highly recommended to me by a friend, and I'm even more impressed with her than I had anticipated. My ex-husband was my dentist until he retired in 2003, and since then I've been looking for an equally capable and ethical dentist to replace him. Dr. Gloor is gentle yet thorough, and she doesn't try to sell you something you don't need. I'm very pleased with her work, and am already recommending her to everyone I know! read more

Painless dentistry, who knew! I wish I had known about Dr Gloor years ago. I just found her a year ago and already I have had a cavity filled and a crown put in. When I cracked my tooth, I called her and she saw me right away. Unlike a lot of dentists these days she takes the time to give you personal service and makes sure you are comfortable and that the procedure is pain free. I mean pain free!!! Her laser is the greatest and so is her xray machine that takes pictures of your whole mouth. Seeing Dr. Gloor is the most relaxing experience one can have at the dentist. Her motto "see Dr. Gloor and smile more". :) I'm smiling. read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Vanessa Gloor for over ten years. My whole family is currently under her care. I must say that she is, by far, the best dentist I have ever known. She is gentle, caring, professional and reasonable, all at the same time. Dr. Gloor always has cutting edge technology and the latest techniques. Once, I had a crown come back from the lab just a slight shade off from what she had ordered. Despite the fact that it was a molar and not readily apparent, she recommended to wait for the reorder and get it right. My teeth look great & I'd recommend Vanessa Gloor in a heartbeat! read more

Dr. Gloor believes that going to the dentist shouldn't require courage. As a person who suffers from life-long dental-phobia, I lauged at this idea. But after my first appointment, I completely understood what she meant. Dr. Gloor does everything she can to make my visits comfortable, both physically and emotionally. She has educated me about oral care in ways that feel empowering, she's very positive and encouraging, and she puts me at ease with her welcoming demeanor and open communication. She is as skilled at caring for the whole patient as she is at dentistry. read more

Dr. Gloor has been instrumental in relieving my long time fear of dentists. She does wonderful work, is gentle, patient, caring and is a perfectionist. Both my husband and I have seen her for many years with consistently excellent results. Best of all Dr. Gloor's r office is just five minutes from our home. I am told by friends that she is also wonderful with children. I highly recommend Dr. Gloor. read more

I've only had pleasant experiences with Dr. Gloor and her staff. She is professional, friendly, and most certainly gentle while providing excellent dental care. Highly recommend this business read more

I found Dr. Gloor to be fake nice. You can tell that she's really trying to make you feel like she cares, but it doesn't at all come across as genuine. I don't like how she talked down to her assistant. She didn't seem to care that the patient was right there, she was rude and seemed to be trying to make the assistant look incompetent (which only backfired and made the doctor look bad). Also, as noted by other reviewers, her billing practices are lacking. She didn't know what my co-pay was supposed to be, if any. For no reason that I could see, she insisted on taking "study models" even though I didn't want any products that would require them (night guard, bleaching trays, etc.) It seemed like she was just trying to pad the insurance bill. On a side note, her dog seemed nice but I don't think that animals (other than service dogs) should be in a professional dental or medical office. He seems to have free reign of the office, including the treatment areas. This seems like an OSHA violation.... Overall assessment is that I won't be returning. read more
