Vandal Hookah Lounge - Purple drink and espresso martini - Hookah Bars Near Me - New Orleans, Louisiana

I don't smoke hookah, but my cousin loves it, so we popped in here to check it out. This is cute spot. There's a bar area and then another more spacious area. I would describe it as "Instagramable;" there's some nice photo ops. There was a group celebrating a birthday, so it was fun to watch them. My cousin ordered tacos, she said they were good. We had a couple of good drinks. There was a cocktail that was like a soft serve margarita. Super cute. The server was nice. She took photos for us. read more

This is undoubtedly the best hookah lounge in the area. I visited to smoke some hookah and was thoroughly impressed by everything. They offer a wide variety of flavors, including fruit heads! What truly stood out to me was the exceptional service provided by my waitress. I was incredibly sweet, attentive, and welcoming. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great experience. read more

Our group of 15 needed a place to celebrate a birthday and vibe for our first night in New Orleans. The Vandal did not disappoint. We were seated in a large u-shaped section in their covered patio area. What a beautiful space and the DJ was fantastic. We ordered several hookahs, food and bottle service and everything was top-tier. My favorite was the Thai Shrimp. The shrimp are breaded and HUGE with a sweet chili sauce. My hubby had the Sweet Chili plate which came with shrimp and fried rice with a garlic sauce...so good! Our server for the night was Natalia and I really have to give her props. She managed a crew of 15 with ease and everyone was happy. Next time we are in NOLA, Vandal is on the list! read more

Awesome place with great selection. The staff is NOT friendly and clearly wants to leave 10 min before closing. Amazing selection of flavors, drinks, and food. I found it very off putting related to the staff. I am shocked at how unfriendly they are. Ambiance is interesting inside, kinda trendy. Lots of drinks to choose from on the menu. However, again, I have never been to a place that treats customers the way they do. PS automatic gratuity is added; they don't have to treat you well because they make their money regardless. read more

Good music, nice happy hour ($1 wings on Thursdays!) and solid hookah. Have been a few times and always have a great time! Food-wise, I've only had the wings but they're cooked well and every flavor I've tried has been A+. The service honestly depends on the night, but it's worth a visit. read more

Really nice spot. Came here to watch the Super Bowl and was not disappointed. The food was really good and fresh. Literally steaming off the plate. Great flavors and great hookah. The inside was a nice size. From what I saw the patio was really good too. If you are looking for a nice chill vibe and hookah lounge come here. The service was a little iffy. Idk if they have new staff or what but they were doing what they could. I would def be back. Oh and their red velvet cake was sooooooo good. The only down fall is you have to pay 3 dollars for trash Fiji water. I don't even like Fiji. Y'all should get more of a variety of water. And the mocktail was good but not 9$ good. read more

Was visiting and stopped by to check out Vandal's happy hour because I've heard good things about them. When we walked in the restaurant was pretty empty so we were told to sit where we wanted. The bartender brought menus to our table, but it took a while for a server to come. Once we were able to put in our orders we sat and waited for about 45min and never even received a drink. We finally found the server and she said they had a system issue, but she never came and told or updated us. We asked how much longer it would be and she couldn't say. She also said that they couldn't just make our drinks, hookah, and food without a ticket. She claimed she was speaking to the manager on the phone to try to figure it out. A bartender then came up to our table and made our drinks. We ended up moving out to the patio because it looked like they were getting all the service out there. As soon as we moved our order started coming out to us. This was definitely not a good experience for my first time. The service was lacking! read more

Security was solid and friendly. They worked on getting us a table for a large group and it was pleasant from start to finish. For a party you do have to put a card on file and you can only pay with one card. The lamb was good and the drinks were good as well. Dj playing music and just an overall nice spot. read more

Great hangout spot in New Orleans. If you like hookah, good drinks, good food, and good vibes you definitely should pay a visit to Vandals Hookah Lounge. Such a nice place with a great ambiance. They they indoor and outdoor seating, you can even purchase sections. My friend is a hookah pro and she swears that Vandals has the best hookahs and flavors (she recommends blueberry mint) in New Orleans. I personally like their drinks and fries. They have great service, my only complaint is that you get your table for only 2 hours so plan accordingly. Also, there is no parking lot so be prepared to park in the street. read more

Suggested by locals , good pick , pulled up for happy hour $10 Hookah and $3 drinks . I don't smoke, so I didn't partake in hookah, but my people enjoyed it. Drinks I ordered along with others this vodka spritzer, it was alright. Ordered the 75-cent wings they were delicious, or we were just hungry. Seasoned fries were a table pleaser . Service was good and attentive. The vibe and the music were a hit. It's decorated trendy, a great place for large gatherings with friends and family.. read more

The service could have been better. We sat at our table for about 10-15 minutes and then had to ask another waiter before someone acknowledged us. Once we finally got our waiter, I ordered the shrimp fried rice (can't remember the exact name of the dish) the shrimp had a weird taste so I picked them out and ate the fried rice. I got a French 75 that was really good! We also ordered hookah. This is a good chill place to go and have drinks and conversation. Could be even better if the customer service was better. read more

I like to do hookah occasionally, so I looked into hookah lounges in New Orleans & found Vandal. When you enter there's a dim lite cozy seating area with a bar. They have two restrooms towards the back & there larger side is outside. There is a covering above, but not covering the whole top so air is still circulating. The space is big. They have a DJ & some tv screens as well. The drinks are reasonably priced ($13-$17) as well as the hookah. They also have someone coming around to change the coal so you never get that burnt smoke flavor. I would definitely return. read more

I can't help but give this place 5 stars! They allowed us to book LAST MINUTE section for a watch party on a Wednesday and then double back and allowed us to book a party two days later on a Friday. They were soooooooo accommodating, extremely sweet, & I had a blast. To be honest, I can't speak to the food, but everyone was inhaling it. read more

My cousins and I came here as a group of 8! It's a cute and vibey spot! The appetizers and food in general were pretty good. The hookah did seem a little harsh but overall it was a good experience for a chill night. This was my first time at Vandal. Ambiance very amazing picture ready for sure. Our waitress was very attentive and nice. She offer a drink that was suppose to be top tier but after 3 drinks still no buzz. Order chicken wing very good and tasty I will say but not worth the prize. We also order a hookah wasn't to fond on the rule being two people pre hookah and a $5 charge for ice. Over off $159 for 2 people wasn't worth it the pictures were the highlight read more

I've passed this place more times than I can count but finally decided to give them a chance on a girl's day out. After being rained out of our brunch spot, we headed there to continue our fun. The place was cute and after being rained on, we were happy to hear they had a closed in patio: well semi closed because some spots had water pouring through the ceiling. We grabbed a dry table and placed an order. Our server was really nice and a new hire. She had the unpleasant job of telling us that only 2 people per hookah: what a money grab. Then she was set on promoting this blueberry lemon drop. $130 later for 2 people and I didn't have a single buzz and felt like I had wasted money. It was worth the try. The highlight was the wings and the photo areas. Pretty expensive pics. read more

First time here, and would definitely try again. Pros: the hookah was on point and was hitting smooth and strong without being overly harsh. I don't smoke regularly, so this is a major plus for me. The staff was friendly and inviting, and the ambiance was sultry. Even the patrons were attractive, making me feel a little out of place. Definitely dress up a bit and pretend to be cool. Another positive is the unisex bathrooms with UV hand dryers. Cons: we ordered the spinach goat cheese pizza which needed to be put under the broiler for a few minutes: it was cold and tasted store bought. Another negative was the configuration of chairs and heaters in the outdoor area: it was hard to maneuver around without bumping into other people, and with COVID, the tent and closeness can't be the best idea...definitely needed more airflow and separation. Will come back for another try and for the above average hookah. read more

So for starters I'm not a hookah fan. Just has never been my thing but I went with some friends and thoroughly enjoyed myself. The food was good, the outside patio was BOMB and the staff was super friendly/quick. I also did try the hookah and I actually liked it. They had a ton of flavors to choose from but they all sounded cool to me.. I think we had watermelon and mint but I could be wrong so don't take my word for it. Either way, definitely check them out. vibes were mid. It has potential to be decent but it was pretty dead when we came. Also our check came out with someone else's meal on it and the server (Sophie) told us once we questioned her (after the fact) that the person had payed her in cash and that because the person was around us she tacked it on to our bill. Shady for sure, would not return and would not recommend. There's def better places to chill at anyway. read more

I give this place 3 stars because it was majorly overpriced. The food is expensive and so are the drinks. The hookah is moderately priced. They charge a mandatory 18% gratuity and a $10 service charge; also if you order water the only option is Fuji water at $6 a bottle... all of which I thought was ridiculous. The drinks are watered down and the hookah was weak. However the atmosphere was nice, I did enjoy the vibe of the place. Music was nice, it was not over crowded and there were fans outside to help cool down from the extreme Nola summer heat. read more
