Affordable. Efficient. Amazing results for laser hair removal (if you can handle the pain). Highly recommend Mila! I just finished my 3rd laser hair removal session for lower legs (knees included) and underarms. About 4-6 weeks in between sessions depending on hair growth. FYI laser hair removal isn't exactly permanent, it does significantly reduce hair, but results depend on your own baseline hair growth. After 3 sessions, there's pretty much no more leg hair (maybe a few light coloured strands left). Will probably need 1-2 more sessions for underarms though. My skin usually reacts poorly to shaving with red bumps lasting a week, so my usual method used to be waxing legs every 3-4 weeks. I really love the results, no more hassle, but it is kind of painful. Bearable, but it's like a stinging/intense prickly feeling, especially in places with more concentrated hair growth. Pain is about 3/5 on average, some spots hitting a 4/5. It took about 45min for both legs, and less than 30min for both underarms. I'd recommend booking them back to back to make it one longer appointment and get it over with. Mila is super efficient and experienced. They have full transparency of their prices online, and you can book online as well. Spa itself is quite small, no frills, it's basically just a small room with a heated bed and some music. She is always able to fit me in, even on short notice, and does an amazing job - very quick, very thorough and reasonably priced. If I could give this 0 stars I would. One of the worst experiences I've ever had dealing with people. I bought a groupon, booked through their website with my name and phone number, and when I arrived they would not let me use the groupon because technically I had been there before. Just because I had been in the back room already, I wasn't a new customer. They told me I'd have to pay an extra $25 to get the appointment I wanted. Both ladies were ganging up continuing to tell me I could not use my groupon although I had given an explanation. Never going back to this place again solely because of their service. Back story: I had purchased a groupon specifically with a worker who had groupon service separately under her name. I did not know they were part of the same company because it was solely through her. Therefore I was a new client of hers. When I bought this Groupon, they specified to new clients which I thought I was because I hadn't booked through them or their website before. This has happened before with another groupon but the company told me immediately that I wasn't able to use the groupon over the phone. They had it in their records and reached out to me. However these people did not care. Claimed they were too busy to attend to every single one of their customers yet when I walked in one lady was sitting on the couch just on her phone. Mind you, I had booked my appointment a week in advance and they texted me several times about reminders. How long does it really take to check if a person has been there before? There are other spas that will gladly tend to all their customers regardless of how busy they are. Don't spend your money here when all they want from you is more money in the end. read more

I've NEVER had this happen to me before and I will NEVER return for your services. --- More Details: Used the $19 Groupon for a Brazilian two days ago and had the WORST experience. I've done Brazilians before, so I'm prepared for a little pain here and there but this time it was unbearable. I didn't understand why it hurt so much. Despite telling the waxer several times that the wax was too hot, the temperature was not adjusted after my requests. I could see her turning the knobs but it didn't feel any different. My body was flinching throughout the process and I had to hold in my breath and make small talk to forget about the pain. I didn't realize how bad the experience was until AFTER I left the salon when I discovered there were blotches of red, dried skin peeling (wait, what?!). More towards the delicate areas it was darker (brown/purple) and extremely dry. When I put pressure on the left side, it feels sore but the right side is perfectly normal. Today I'm going to buy some Aloe Vera to soothe this area. I should have known better this Groupon had its flaws. Definitely going to salons that have hundreds of stellar reviews instead of a place with only a handful of reviews. I'm appalled they treat their customers like this. Definitely not the place to go for waxing. Purchased the $19 brazillian from Groupon (I should have known better) and my experience was the furthest thing from pleasant. The esthetician did not crack one smile, spoke very abruptly, and laughed and almost rolled her eyes when I winced in pain at the shotty wax job she was providing me with. Her lack of personality made it a really awkward experience. I was left with broken hairs, ingrowns and some bleeding! I bought the Brazilian groupon and also decided to do the full leg. The appointment was supposed to be at 3 but the lady didn't come get me until 10 after. She was kind of short with me at first, not overly friendly but warmed up after awhile. This was my first Brazilian so I have no basis for comparison but the lady was very nice once she warmed up. We chatted, she waxed me, we had a few laughs. She gave me a membership card and a set price for future waxes. I'm a regular client in Green Spa since 2012. Sometimes I try facial in other different places but always come back to Green Spa. I really like Olga, she is very responsible, gentle and takes care about my skin well. She always gives some tips how to care about my skin at home. I have some acne problems and usually ask for deep pore cleansing, and yesterday I tried some peeling. I even don't remember what kind of peeling it was, because I trust Olga my face and sometimes forget to ask what is she doing now, so today my skin is very-very clean, I almost don't have acne, what I had yesterday. Also I come there for manicure and pedicure with Olga or Mila, sometimes it takes long time but I always have nice result in the end. Now they have new girl who works there, I saw her gel nails work and wanna try it next week. I'd like to add that one of them is from Belarus, it's another country in East Europe near Russia and Ukraine. People in Belarus speak in different language. I speak Russian and Ukrainian and my intonation is softer, but I can feel people with strong pronunciation, and can say they are kind and friendly, you can be sure they're doing all their best. Wish I could give 0 stars to this place. Please save yourself the trip and your money! I had an appointment at 3 pm and was on my way to the salon. I sent a text to the manager saying there was traffic and that I would be there soon. I got there at 3:05 and they don't tell you that the salon is inside another salon unless you do your own research. They try to lure you in with their $25 Brazilian wax but even if they gave it away for free I wouldn't go with them. When I got there I went to the front desk lady and told her I had an appointment. She looked at me and said that she wasn't going to help me. And she continued to talk in her language with whoever was there. I interrupted her and asked why and she said because I was late. I told her that I had sent a text and that I had driven 45 minutes from Burnaby in the traffic on a Saturday for this appointment. She told me that my appointment was at 3 pm not 3:05 and that she wasn't going to help me. I asked her if she had anything later on since I had come such a long way and she said she could take me in 4:45 but if I wasn't there at exactly that time she would leave and not wait one more minute. Such poor customer service and such a rude person in general. This whole time she was raising her voice at me and everyone was staring and she didn't care that she was humiliating a customer. Please help yourself and don't go. Pay $10-20 more and go somewhere with proper customer service and make your experience more enjoyable. read more

I had been to your Spa once before back in Dec2013 and got a brazilian & underarm wax, Great job. This time I had the same plus lip and eyebrows done by Olga. I didn't realize this until I got home but she had ripped off several layers of my upper lip making it red sore and scab for several days. She also ripped off some of my skin right by where I urinate from making is bleed and sting while I peed for 2-3 days. It pains me to let you know this, since one of your technicians lives in my building. I was suppose to have my appt with her on that Friday, but Olga filled in since I didn't know she worked there. I left on holidays the next day. They wrote back this COP OUT!! We are thankful for the chance to respond to your review and have the opportunity to do so with your feedback through Groupon. This is honestly the best spa I've ever been to, a hidden gem. The staff is very caring, knowledgable and accommodating (Mila and Ia are especially lovely!). I've been getting facials, sugaring, and nail service here for more than a year now and have always walked out of the salon very happy. Their deep pore facial is about 1.5hrs long and it's the best thing I've ever done for my face, I highly recommend it if you have acne-prone skin. For less than $100, you get a full service with extractions, peeling, Darsonval treatment, which is unbelievable. I've been struggling to find a GOOD cosmetician who cares and doesn't charge you a fortune, and I am so glad I came across this place. Their sugaring service is so very attentive to detail, in my years living in Vancouver I've never encountered someone being so careful and attentive. Their nail service is also unparalleled, they really go out of their way to make every cuticle look perfect. And all of that - for a VERY reasonable price, which is so rare to find in Downtown Vancouver. Yes, it might be a little hard to find them because it's a salon within a salon, but it's a hidden gem of Vancouver Downtown, I swear. I visited Vancouver Green Spa with a Groupon for a Brazillian wax. I avoided shaving for 5 days beforehand, which I know is long enough, especially if hot wax is being used. The woman came in, looked at my bikini and said "Ohhhh..." (as if I weren't uncomfortable enough). She told me that she couldn't do it until the hair was 7mm (which they could have mentioned when I set up the appointment), and asked me to come back in 2 weeks. She wrote a note on a card for me to bring when I came back. However, I didn't want to wait another 2 weeks and had wasted time going there, so I emailed them and asked if they could just refund the amount instead. They told me that they couldn't because "the Groupon was already redeemed. " Basically, they charged me for a service that they didn't give me, then refused to give me my money back. Great place for a quick wax. Conveniently located downtown this is a good in-and-out during lunch time place. Went in for a Brazilian thinking it might take half an hour or so, but ended out in and out within 20 minutes. The estheticians are quite skillful and you can tell by the way they apply the wax and they pretty much use around 10 strips for the whole service. I will say though if your skin is quite sensitive I would definitely make it known prior to the service. I find hot wax not the most gentle form of hair removal (try to look elsewhere for a place that uses hard wax) but I didn't have any prior issues with lifting so I was fine with the quality of the waxing service. I was sent home with a after-care cream (aloe mixed with something) which was appreciated. They are located at the back of a salon so it's a little awkward that you have to walk through a salon to get to the actual business. If you are located downtown and need a quick wax - this is definitely the place to go. There are always Groupons available for this place also so check before you book your appointment! After my service they also offered me a discount with my next rebooking which was a good incentive to come back consistently. read more

Came in today for a wax appointment. I was 10 mins late for my appointment (appointment tim 4:30). Called at 4:30 to tell her I was finding parking and If anyone knows Downtown Vancouver parking is a shit show after 3pm. I had even left 15 mins early to find parking but it was that bad. Any ways despite calling her to let her know I was running late. She called me at 4:41 (as I was walking in the doors) telling me she can't take me because her next client had already arrived. After a mini brawl I told her I would wait for the next client to be done however the next client was polite and very nice (unlike this employee) let me go ahead of her. When the employee was waxing me, I apologized again for being late ( note that there was no apology on her end ) and than asked her what time was the next clients appointment. She said 5pm. WTH ladyyy why were you freaking out on me, what kind of customer service is this. Our appointment ended 2mins over 5pm. See the thing is the appointment it self wasn't bad, I did leave bleeding tho. ( UPDATE: definitely have scars from the wax!!!!!)But the customer service was terrible and definitely won't be coming back. For a place that offers a service you should know how to treat a first time customer and how to respond to this situation. What a shame! read more

I went to the Green Spa today to redeem my groupon for an express facial & a spa manicure w/paraffin treatment & I will definitely go back here. The service was exemplary from my phone call making the reservation, the greeting upon entering the spa to the services provided. Really nice atmosphere and professional service! My esthetician, Mila was great. She worked with care on both my nails and facial. I never felt rushed. I usually (due to bad experiences) ask that my nails be cut and filed the same length and style (why anyone would ever vary the length and style of nails beats me but it's happened) but didn't here & wasn't disappointed! Mila even recommended a few different shades in the same family of nail polish I selected and tried each one out for me. My nails look great & she went out of her way to ensure that they were uniform!! Love that!!! My express facial was great and didn't feel like an express one at all. I've been looking for a regular salon for a while now & I think I just found the place! I was also given 50% off for the next service I use at the salon. I went it for my first Brazilian and was very surprised at how well it went! I bought the deal on Groupon and from the previous reviews expected a mediocre experience. Although I agree that the experience was painful, my aesthetician, Lena, was very professional and helpful. The conversation we had during the procedure was pleasant and the whole session took less than 20 minutes. She also gave me some cream and instructed me on what to do for the next couple days. I tried their wax here with a groupon and the end result was pretty good. I didn't get the oil or cream that the other review mentioned though, which leads me to wonder whether as a groupon customer I really received the full service (which you would need for any groupon type deal in order to determine whether you would come back and pay full price for the goods or service, so this kind of irks me a bit). It was a very hygenic place and pretty good on the pain monitor. I do have to say though it was quite difficult to understand the esthetician on the phone due to her heavy Russian accent and the room was a bit strange because there were two beds in the same room and separated by a cloth drape. I was the only one in there during my appointment, but I would feel a bit awkward if there were two people getting waxes as you would be able to hear everything (and potentially see through the seams) the other person as well. I tried the Brazilian wax, although not as part of the Groupon experience. The spa environment was clean. The aesthetician was abrupt, but friendly and efficient. I liked her no-nonsense approach to waxing. The pain level was very tolerable. The price was very reasonable for the quality of the services. The area where I have serious concerns is DOUBLE DIPPING in the wax jar which is also used for other clients. The aesthetician described that she only does this for the "surrounding areas" and that once the more "sensitive zones" are waxed, she makes sure to use once-only dipping. This is exactly what occurred. I'm not sure I feel comfortable with this, and how hygienic and safe it is to double dip, even for the "less sensitive" areas. This is the only reason I am giving 2 stars, as the rest of the service was excellent for the competitive price. However, safety and hygiene are nonnegotiable necessities in a spa service, and it exceeded my comfort level. I'm not sure I will return. read more

I never usually write reviews, but this is an exception. Bought a Groupon for Brazilian wax. After calling and calling and callllling to try claim before a beach vacation, no one returned my call, and so when I got the reminder about my Groupon expiring shortly after my return I was already irritated. The lady was friendly and very talkative - with basic English (she was Russian), but because I was pregnant she took her time to wax in very small sections (to lessen the pain she said). The Brazilian took 1 hour!! I was uncomfortable and in pain for 1 hr. 2 minutes more and I would have told her to just stop and leave it as it was. I felt as though she was slapping the wax on and nothing about it was strategic/planned. The rooms are small with dry walling in between which keeps no sound/movement in (the wall shook a little at one point). ??? Having had really good Brazilians in the past (also being pregnant), the money (even $19) and pain was definitely not worth the result I received - broken hairs, not at all smooth, bleeding, sore for a day. I don't write reviews often but I think this experience merited one. I just want to start off by saying that the ladies that work there seem very nice and interested in their jobs. I went there with a friend and we both shared a mutual opinion about this spa. We had purchased vouchers so we could try out this spa and we appreciated that the ladies that did our pedicures didn't seem to treat us any differently than a full-paying customer. Now... the bad part. I'm pretty sure the ladies that work there aren't registered estheticians. When we sat down for our pedis, an extra lady in plain clothes came & sat & watched the whole time. We were never introduced nor did she speak, except to communicate with our estheticians in Russian. I believe this was her "training." Scary. We also didn't appreciate the fact that the ladies all spoke in Russian to each other and very minimally to us in English. Not the greatest feeling having people who are supposed to be assisting/pampering you speaking in a foreign language the whole time. Other reasons why we both won't be back include the fact that my friend's esthetician actually nicked her while cutting her toenail. It actually bled!! My friend was too good a sport and downplayed it but she said later that it did hurt and it stung pretty badly when her feet were scrubbed & placed in paraffin wax. My gripe is about the fact that, despite placing a small dryer over my feet for a solid 20 minutes, i still ended up with my nailpolish chipping as I walked out the door. Totally unacceptable. Yes, we got a decent deal with the voucher, and yes the estheticians did spend longer than usual on our pedis, but after tax & tip (yes, we still tipped them- felt badly not doing so), and not getting the best pedis, this "deal" simply wasn't worth it. Not sure about the other reviews on here (since it was after reading those that we decided to buy the deal) but I would say pass on any future deals. There are too many great salons & spas out there that will give you better service with a better outcome! ps. we were also given 50% coupons but we won't be back even at that price. Absolutely appalling customer service!! I was given a groupon for a pedicure. Unfortunately I let it expire... However it says in plain print the value paid for the groupon (45$) will never expire!! Sounds good right? I thought I would pay the difference and get my toes done for my upcoming family event. When I called no one answered. Then an hour later I get called back (weird who calls back call display numbers they don't know). The woman on the phone is very short with me once she finds out it is a groupon. She cuts me off part way through my inquiry and tells me "no no no you can only use that for a Brazilian!" Ummm I'm not letting anyone but my husband near my beaver lady!! I let her know that it clearly states pedicure and I'm not interested in being waxed. She continues on to adamantly refuse to let me use the amount of the groupon paid to her place of business because she is really busy this time of year. I said well that's nice for her but she took the money for the groupon and now she is refusing the service. She told me my groupon is over a year expired which is not true (it's 3 months expired )and she wouldn't allow me to use it.
