Absolutely by far the worst experience with a repair shop in my history of 20+ years of fleet management in the trucking industry, dealing with 100's of shops throughout North America. It took them 12 days to complete 16.5 hours of work and the problem is still not corrected. Despite booking the job 1 week in advance. Continually misled on timeline and work being completed as promised. Dishonest timelines and commitments that they never intended on meeting, no communication unless I phoned them or showed up at the door questioning. Refused to reply to my email concerns in writing and called to argue the timeline despite vehicle GPS reports showing the truck was moved offsite to a parking lot nearby for multiple days ... I would not let them touch even a wheelbarrow to repair. Dishonest and unethical business practices. read more

Phoned for a quote on servicing the kingpins on my '48 ford truck, specifically pressing the old seized kingpins and bushings out, and pressing and reaming the new hub bushings in. I said I had already dropped the axle out, and would show up at the shop with the axle over my shoulder, and replacement parts in hand. The person I was talking to said they'd have to inquire for an estimate and would phone me back. A week later VAF phoned back to inform me that my scheduled kingpin service was good to go for the next day. I said this is not what I was asking for, and could I please get a number on the job as explained above. I was quoted $1950, for what's essentially ten minutes with a press and a single routine machining operation, a service which i received elsewhere for $200. This is made doubly bizzare by the fact that I bought the entire truck for $1800. Now perhaps they simply prefer working on fleet contracts or commercial vehicles and didn't want to deal with servicing some random obsolete hot rod, but I certainly would've appreciated it if they'd simply said so, instead of trying to tacitly entrap me into blindly showing up paying ten times the cost of a very basic job because they resented the very idea of it. Duplicitous or incompetent, I don't care. Don't deal with these people. read more

For a frame repair shop these guys sure seem to have a hard time getting it right. Took my personal vehicle here with an already pre fabricated replacement section in to be cut and welded into place and was told this would be no problem as they have done this exact thing on the same vehicle before. After returning to pick up my vehicle the welds looked terrible and they actually cut a section of my rock sliders off and did a poor job of reattaching. The welds on the replacement piece were no better- filled with pock marks and missed sections making it look like an amateur had done this. After being promised this would be remedied I returned to find that it was somewhat better and was painted black. Didn't find out till a few months later going under to do my own undercoating and wire wheeling the welds that they were still full of holes and sections still missed. Would not go here again. read more

So I go into VAF to get some work done on my truck and after discussing the work and the estimate I assume everything would be taken care of... Firstly, it was a half done job since half of the discussed items were not even finished. Secondly, I got charged $800 of which $400.64 (i.e. $100.16/hr x4) was for having 4 lightbulbs changed i.e. 4 bulbs for the Rear side lights, installing a 20ft reflector tape on deck, a spot of welding around the back of the truck and for "replacing" a burnt fuse for the Heater which they say worked then stopped working so it still doesn't work but I still get charged for it? So how can they justify 4 hours of work for changing 4 lightbulbs, a spot of welding and a installing some reflector tape? What kind of people even go as far as to charging someone for something they tried to fix but didn't fix but still find it alright for them to charge for making an attempt to fix it? The estimate cost around $700plus taxes originally for all the work that was supposed to be done and the work mentioned here is only around 2/3 of what was supposed to be done and I still get charged $730 plus taxes? Turns out this place is a ripoff with unexperienced people if they deem it appropriate to overcharge people for work that is half done. My advice? Don't get taken advantage of by these people who claim to be the best... Save yourself the time and money and shop around. read more

As you can see in their reply, Vancouver Axle and Frame reached out after my first review and explained that there was an error in my inspection. When I contacted them, they were very nice and apologetic, and they sent me a check to reimburse the full cost of my inspection. I do appreciate that. read more

If u want to get ripped off, go here! I took my motorhome here for a simple wheel alignment that I was told would be $300, ended up costing over $700. They also tried to upscale me on other work, which I did not buy into. Would not recommend this place to anyone and will not be back. read more

Worst customer experience I hope to have in my lifetime. Keep any disagreement to yourself unless you are prepared to have the lady who owns this business put her hands on you! 6 hours for a 2 hour appointment, physically assaulted and my truck drives worse than when i brought it in for a simple wheel alignment. This review is in addition to my original review posted July 31,2017 and in reply to a comment by Vancouver Axle & frame owner Ken M. His justification for why my vehicle sat for 2 weeks with nothing being done on it is a complete fabrication. I was never presented an estimate to repair the problem and it certainly wasn't me declining to have the work done due to costs. I would have been happy to have any work done so I could get some use out of my motorhome before the entire summer was lost while waiting for this shop to accomplish anything. The second justification that it was a safety issue is also false. The emergency brake and auto park brake operate the exact same drum brake on the drive shaft. Kal tire was able to adjust the emergency brake and have it working properly in 30 minutes. If the owner of the company is willing to lie to cover up for the incompetence of his staff is it any wonder such shoddy work practises are tolerated. Once again if you have any sense never take a vehicle to this place to have anything done. This is actually the second time I have had my motorhome in this shop I had it there in the fall of 2016 as well. At that time I had some extensive brake work. Just a couple of items from that job. First of all the mechanics got their greasy hands all over the motorhome drapes and ruined them. They had them dry cleaned but that didn't fix the problem, they are still covered in grease stains. Second they released the vehicle again after weeks of waiting for repairs to be completed. I found after driving the vehicle for a short time that the brakes still did not fell proper. I took the vehicle back in and they then told me that the master cylinder was by passing. They had just finished replacing this part as they previously said that this was part of the problem. So after supposedly fixing the brakes and road testing the vehicle everything was supposed to be fine. Obviously everything wasn't fine and they released an unsafe motorhome out on the road. I could go on and on but I'm not trying to write a novel. The old adage fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me obviously comes to mind. read more
