When I was out of town my check engine light went on and a local shop there did a quick once over…read more There wasn't anything discernible so he turned off the notification but did tell me that if it were to come on again to have it checked out. A few days later it came back on and I stopped at my dealership to see about setting up a diagnostic test to get to the bottom of it. The dealership wouldn't be able to get me in for over a week and estimated that if it was what they thought it was I would be looking at about $1500 to fix it. I definitely don't have that in savings to throw around so I asked friends and family in the area I live if they knew anyone and two people recommended Newton Auto Care. I called them the next morning and Ken was able to get me in on the Saturday which was just a couple of days later. Again, my car ran quite well and nothing discernible from the diagnostic tests but he did reaffirm what the dealership said could be the issue and that it would cost about $1000. Whew, already $500 less which was a relief. I don't have that much socked away but it's easier to meet that than 1500. Ken turned off the notification, sent me on my way and told me to come back if/when it comes on again. Well a week and a half later that lovely check engine light came on again. I stopped in on my way to the WA for work and Ken was able to squeeze me in the next day (Saturday). In the end it was even less than Ken originally quoted and they stand by their work. Funny enough, the check engine light came on again but looks like it's left over sediment from the fuel injector flush that needs to be worked out but when I called to let Ken know he told me to just come on in and they'd check it out. They know a satisfied and happy customer is likely to come back so while the rates may be lower than a dealership one is not compromising on the work ethic. I will definitely be back. It also helps that I can walk home from there if they need to work on my car for a few hours. Thanks to Ken and Geoff for all their hard work, care and trying to help me understand what's up.

( Cost over $2300 to replace). - brought the cost to the attention of Bob the service manager. - Bob push the blame and said he already refund me the fund for the diagnostic and didn't charge for the work. "For what work? My vehicle is not fix." - I will not use them ever again - I am out more then $2300.

this is about Midas- Surry-BC: sharing my experience a mother with two kids, totally misleading…read moreinfo from the manager of this branch. I took day off and stock there had no choice with two kids at school. they play with customer make excuse- to have a chance run the actual show when you stick there for the whole days. to be honest, their approach feels more like a tightly controlled group that misleads others through selective or unclear information. Especially the manager, who constantly tries to present himself in a positive light, yet the overall conduct seems highly questionable. In my opinion, their behavior resembles a form of modern exploitation -- taking advantage of others under the appearance of professionalism. I had a very disappointing experience. They initially provided misleading information just to get me to bring my car in. I took a day off and once I arrived, they started changing the story and caused unnecessary delays. What should have been a simple job turned into a full day wasted. It felt very unprofessional and inconsiderate of the customer's time and trust.
