this is about Midas- Surry-BC: sharing my experience a mother with two kids, totally misleading info from the manager of this branch. I took day off and stock there had no choice with two kids at school. they play with customer make excuse- to have a chance run the actual show when you stick there for the whole days. to be honest, their approach feels more like a tightly controlled group that misleads others through selective or unclear information. Especially the manager, who constantly tries to present himself in a positive light, yet the overall conduct seems highly questionable. In my opinion, their behavior resembles a form of modern exploitation -- taking advantage of others under the appearance of professionalism. I had a very disappointing experience. They initially provided misleading information just to get me to bring my car in. I took a day off and once I arrived, they started changing the story and caused unnecessary delays. What should have been a simple job turned into a full day wasted. It felt very unprofessional and inconsiderate of the customer's time and trust. read more

If it's hard to make money from oil change. Charge more, but upfront. Ford Hallmark charge more for oil change. But they are honest and inform you what oil you will get and how much for labour, all upfront. read more

I want to say i pulled in here and was frantic one of the hottests days in june and my AC was making my van overheat . I have physical challenges and walk with crutches the genteman the tuesday mannager was very comforting . He helped me to calm down and assured me he would do everything he could to get me going again. He was polite and compasionet and i am so greatful that he took me right away and fixed the Ac issue . They change my lug nuts on my van in which they broke, charge me $15 for 1, and I just found out when I got a flat tire that its not the same as the other ones. I can't take it out and replace the tires. Every time you go there, there is always something they will offer to change. Ending up paying over $100 every oil change. They see a woman walk in, and figure how much they can rip you off for!! I went in to get a front end wheel noise fixed I figured was the wheel bearing. Paid $43.55 for a diagnostic to tell me that they are both extremely worn out, and that it will cost $933 to have them fixed!! WOW! I instead took it to Budget (152 & Fraser Hwy), and turns out, only 1 needed to be fixed, and my grand total was just $321.83 (taxes included). Even if I did get both sides done, I would have still been over charged by $300 at Midas! And, no one I called could figure out how they were coming up with such high prices for the parts they were quoting. Ridiculous!! read more

My son's Honda CRV is a 2002 so is a bit long in the tooth, but it's what he has and needs it to work in a remote location. Today it had a problem with a bad wheel bearing and the e-brake assemble was toast. Because everything was seized they had to torch off part of the assembly. Knowing my son had limited finances and needed the vehicle they sourced out a whole assembly used but in good shape. They fixed the problems for a reasonable price. Best service ever! I have had the pleasure of having Sanjay work on my 2000 Alero and 2000 Malibu and after the first time I will not go anywhere else! Total rip off asshole of a so called manager (33 years of customer experience? Really?) in this surrey b.c. location. Instead of just talking to me, the manager here decide to dictate to me in a yelling manner without even giving me a chance to reply. First, the sale happened at Tuesday. the salesman doesn't tell me about the replacement parts are third party part which I assume I would think they would use oem part especially when they have to custom order and wait for 3 days. Second, only to find out I was charged $49 for hour worth of labour (which was just oil and air filter) which is ridiculous. (mostly it takes 10 minutes max to do but waited hour for it anyway (but I was 30 min late to appointment so I digress) Cabin air filter I was reluctant to replace because my car was only 39k and 4 years old(still smells fine interior) but agreed to do it anyway and prepaid at Tuesday While waiting I saw the box of cabin air filter on my car without any official car logo so I safely assumed it was third party, not oem. (at this I couldn't trust midas) And only to find out that I am literally getting lectured and at first and told lie that I can't get refund for my unwanted cabin air filter and labour which he finally agreed after (it was 12pm on Friday and they can't do refund till Monday because all the people who do financial left? Really? At this time? ) also, as a customer, I should be easily entitled for a refund for a service they DIDN'T DO, no? Why make a huge annoying fuss about it? At this point in waiting, a lady comes in for her service. She ask why I look so angry and I responded what happened. At that point the manager threatened to kick me out for "bad mouthing HIS business". I didn't want to deal any more bullshit so I stop talking even though lady asked first, and clearly it was on personal level I still paid for the oil and air filter because they did do but refusing to refund my unwanted cabin filter change and labour (at first) made me mad and the manager was plain rude and angry period and it made me also angry. So basically I prepaid about $350 and got $102 back and literally paid nearly $250 for a simple air filter and oil change (midas advertised as one hundred and some change dollars plus taxes). If I were to be charged this much, should've just went to official dealership anyway and pay extra without having to deal with bullshit. Lessson learned. I came in to get the wheel bearing replaced on my car. The service was friendly and entertaining while I was in the shop. The owner Bobby was very friendly and took me to my car to show me the issue. While they waited for the parts they got my car ready to commence repairs as soon as the parts arrived so there be no delay. It was refreshing to see and very appreciated. They made me feel very relaxed and welcome even in the midst of Covid 19. I will happily return to this shop. read more

Avoid this vendor by all means. The store manager is a crook. Do not take your vehicle for an estimate because they asked you to sign an agreement that they will pre charge you for whatever they have to do on looking at your car. I was trapped by signing the agreement because I know I only need to replace the rotor and break pads. He told me the cost will be waived if I choose to fix by them. After he looked at the car , he said he will check the computer he showed me they have two options to choose from , the regular pads and premium pads. He lied to me about the vendor doesn't have any regular pads in stock but only the premium pads which will cost over 700. And if I don't wanna go for that option i have to pay for the estimate I just signed. After I stupidly agreed to put the premium pads in my car , he pretended he ordered the parts online then made me waited for over an hour to start working on it. During that waiting period I didn't see any parts delivery guy show up. They simply went to the back and used whatever in the stock. The pads didn't last long since they advertised free pads for life just pay labour. That's just another one to rip you off over and over again. read more

first time i was there they said have to change my brake drum and brakes. charged 600$+ estimated time to picm up 4 pm. had to wait in shop til 6 pm got home and found out they didnt connect handbrake. called them,they asked me to come on monday. when arrived they told me they were too busy so come on saturday next time i was there they charged me 63$ for oil change." 39$ advertised" and didnt accept my 10$ discount coupon provided by them. third time never to go to that shop read more
