The staff were constantly speaking loudly to one another in languages like Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Filipino, or others, which is completely unacceptable. It feels unsafe and irritating. The branch is very large and open, but there are still too few ATMs in all the branches. This one had only 3, and one of them was broken. There was an umbrella placed a good distance from the front door, opposite the ATMs, and the branch was also very clean.

I am his power of attorney and every time I had to do anything it was hard. My mother passed away on the day she passed he wanted to take money out of the bank and had trouble with the debit machine. I felt like the teller was looking at me like I was doing something wrong. He is in a wheelchair and has a brain injury. My mom had an investment (RRSP) it took 3 months to get out. I have to split the investment with my sisters. I am hoping the taxes will go into the estate. The person at the bank says it will go on my taxes. I guess I will see when I do my taxes. There has been ongoing issues with this bank that I haven't had with the other two banks I deal with. When the estate is settled I will be closing all the accounts and will just deal with the other two banks where it has been very easy to deal with.

To do any of these transactions in person, you need to book an appointment with a banker. It is not usually easily done at a teller window. Worth noting, a bit more time is needed. The interest rates were very competitive last year but now I find them lagging behind. Another disapointment that they were closed on the Saturday prior to Labor Day. As I peered through the closed doors, others too questioned why the lights were not on. If there were any signs posted I must have missed seeing them two days earlier. We all felt a bit frustrated and stupid. Oh well, overall, this has been a fairly solid credit union to do business with.

BMO CHARGES $1 MORE FOR MONTHLY BANKING FEES THAN OTHER BANKS..... almost $18 including taxes…read more... All so you can do E-TRANSFERS, BILL PAYMENTS AND DIRECT DEPOSITS seems a rip off. I wasn't even using the debit features. Just to have money deposited and pay like a few bills a month. I ended up downgrading to $4 plan and just use it for random deposits and moved my banking to RBC which offered unlimited everything and was $1 cheaper. BMO was better on the debit card speediness but then again RBC got hit with postal strike so it might not be their fault on that. Having a separate card just for online debits is a tad weird for RBC but they are $1 cheaper....

Last year I took a trip to Mexico and had no idea how much money to bring. Two tellers were nice enough to tell me to bring lots of $1 bills because it helps to get good service and the Tipping is very minimal such as one or two dollars. Little things like that really help me because service is everything! Overall they keep good tabs on my account and helped me to quickly raise my credit card limits and set up a new business bank account recently quite seamlessly. One thing I pointed out to the lady who helped me set up my business account several times though is that she told me it would take 1 hour to set up my business bank account when it actually took over 2 hours. I told her this was interfering with my business but she said it was my fault taking too long setting up my PIN number. I was not pleased with this but we still have a good relationship and she understands my concern and has made necessary changes to speed up the process for future meetings. And she has. Thank you Scotiabank. I highly recommend this Bank as a solid and stable support system for your personal or business income.

I don't know what is going on at this branch, but my experience over the past six months has been…read morecompletely unacceptable. First, I booked an appointment with a financial advisor who simply did not show up. No notice, no explanation -- just a complete waste of my time. Second, I attempted to transfer funds into this bank. I spent 30 minutes with an advisor and signed multiple documents. After I left, she called me asking me to come back because she had missed additional paperwork. I declined because I was already on a tight schedule. What is even more concerning is that later that same day, she removed our appointment record from the system, which looks like an attempt to cover up her mistake. Third, about two weeks ago, I visited the branch and provided a void cheque from another bank. I clearly instructed them to withdraw my Scotia mortgage payments from that account, as I plan to close my Scotia account. Two weeks later, this still has not been set up. Now I am at risk of missing a mortgage payment and damaging my credit score because of their negligence. Three serious failures in just six months at the same branch is beyond unacceptable. This level of incompetence and lack of accountability is extremely concerning, especially when dealing with something as critical as mortgage payments. I have completely lost confidence in this branch.
