The staff were constantly speaking loudly to one another in languages like Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Filipino, or others, which is completely unacceptable. It feels unsafe and irritating. The branch is very large and open, but there are still too few ATMs in all the branches. This one had only 3, and one of them was broken. There was an umbrella placed a good distance from the front door, opposite the ATMs, and the branch was also very clean.

I am his power of attorney and every time I had to do anything it was hard. My mother passed away on the day she passed he wanted to take money out of the bank and had trouble with the debit machine. I felt like the teller was looking at me like I was doing something wrong. He is in a wheelchair and has a brain injury. My mom had an investment (RRSP) it took 3 months to get out. I have to split the investment with my sisters. I am hoping the taxes will go into the estate. The person at the bank says it will go on my taxes. I guess I will see when I do my taxes. There has been ongoing issues with this bank that I haven't had with the other two banks I deal with. When the estate is settled I will be closing all the accounts and will just deal with the other two banks where it has been very easy to deal with.

To do any of these transactions in person, you need to book an appointment with a banker. It is not usually easily done at a teller window. Worth noting, a bit more time is needed. The interest rates were very competitive last year but now I find them lagging behind. Another disapointment that they were closed on the Saturday prior to Labor Day. As I peered through the closed doors, others too questioned why the lights were not on. If there were any signs posted I must have missed seeing them two days earlier. We all felt a bit frustrated and stupid. Oh well, overall, this has been a fairly solid credit union to do business with.

I always thought it is only street parking but found out there is customer parking at the rear on the side road from Joyce. It's across from the employee parking lot. Just register your car plate when inside the branch. It's 30 minutes parking. The branch was quiet when I was there. The staff was new but very earnest in trying to help. I was there to exchange some old notes and it did take a while as their system was down. He was most apologetic about it. I was not in a hurry so I was fine with the wait. As it was close to Chinese new year, the staff gave me a pack of red envelopes for the season. Nice! Quite unexpected.

I wasn't even using the debit features. Just to have money deposited and pay like a few bills a month. I ended up downgrading to $4 plan and just use it for random deposits and moved my banking to RBC which offered unlimited everything and was $1 cheaper. BMO was better on the debit card speediness but then again RBC got hit with postal strike so it might not be their fault on that. Having a separate card just for online debits is a tad weird for RBC but they are $1 cheaper....

I have never had a bad experience here, and their hours of operation are really good, just don't come on Sunday cause you won't get anything.
