Can't say I've done a comparison since, but judging by the long line ups, I would assume they are still the best for your foreign currency needs. They carry EVERYTHING. Just call beforehand and check that they have enough in stock if you're needing some of the less popular currency. They are also super helpful and can either order you more or direct you to one of the other branches that will have what you need. This is also one of the better locations because it's easy to find parking. My only issue was that I wish their hours were a bit longer.

Yes, this place is at Crystal mall, but the access is on the outside of the mall on the Kingsway side, and it's a very secure place, you enter a door, where it is locked, and they are watching you, then you hear a buzzer to get to the next location which is to change your money. I have never had a bad experience here, and their hours of operation are really good, just don't come on Sunday cause you won't get anything.

Whenever I'm flying off to the likes of Asia and needing 'their' currency, I can go change money at…read moremy bank..... or I can come here, and all the time this place wins, due to the fact they carry Asian currency, and that their rate is real good. They are open on Saturday, which is always a plus, instead of me fighting through a lineup at the bank, or needing to order the funds, which takes a day or two, time I don't have, or choose to have to wait for money! You'll find this place not inside Crystal mall, but along the middle corridor (think Sunshine Cafe, as it's across from there, or next to Mr. Zhang's). As with every money exhange place, they are behind some protective glass (like a shield to keep you at bay!) and all of your dealings are in a tiny small hold, throw money in, sign paper agreeing to the exchange, take money, and run..... or go into the mall and eat at the food court!

I'm sharing this based on my personal experience. A transfer from Iran was sent on September 26, and I didn't receive it in Vancouver until October 10 -- far slower than what Vanex promised. During that delay, there was no proper customer service, no clear explanations, and not even a simple apology for the inconvenience. I had to constantly follow up just to get basic updates. It felt like once they received the money, the urgency and care completely disappeared. When you're dealing with essential funds, reliability and transparency should be the top priority -- sadly, that wasn't the case here. This review reflects what actually happened to me. And if Vanex claims my information is false, I have all the chat screenshots ready and will update this review again.

Warning to others: Vanex has shown repeated broken promises, refusal to refund, and threatening behavior. Protect yourself and avoid this company for any financial transactions. I strongly warn everyone against using Vanex. I trusted them with my money transfer, but despite repeated promises that the funds would be delivered to Iran, nothing was received. Each time I followed up, they gave excuses and refused to provide a proper answer. When I asked for a refund, they denied it. Even worse, the manager threatened me during this process -- and recorded. When the police became involved, Police advised me that others have had similar complaints and Police recommended to avoid further dealings with them.

However, what keeps this from being 5 stars is a rather cold and unfriendly welcome. The woman behind the counter did the exchange but showed no friendliness. Also, although I checked the rate on their website before I went in, I got less than the rate quoted. I know exchange rates fluctuate but this was a very rapid drop. Also, the owner was there and walked right past us as we were leaving, but instead of acknowledging us in any way, he averted his eyes and looked at the floor. Is it just too much effort to look at your customers and say "Thanks for coming in," or similar or even just a friendly smile? We felt completely unwelcome and will go elsewhere for future currency exchanges. How you treat your customers DOES matter.

For some of the 1 oz Maples and other non-Maples, I was offered less than the advertised buyback price, even though when I bought them a few months ago from the same business, they charged me the same selling price regardless of whether they were Maples or not. More specifically, they bought them back at the US 1 oz round price, which was less than the Maple price. Disgusting sleight of hand antic by VBCE.

The lady who helped me was friendly and inside was clean and air conditioned (a surprisingly rare thing here). Please note that the location on Yelp is wrong.
