I want to first give a huge shout out to Dr. Eberly, and their two adorable and caring medical peeps Minerva and Xiomara. Okay let me start with my injury @ the age of 21 I was playing running back during a championship football game when a 285 pound lineman blew out both my knees causing them to both hyperextend which also destroyed cartilages in both my knees and also tearing an ACL ligament in my left knee. I did not go to the hospital emergency room (STUBBORN!!) if I had gone to the ER and put a cast on I'd probably be fine. But instead for one year experiencing many popping of the knee along with PAIN, ACE BANDAGE, ICE and SWELLING!! You can imagine how much more injury I caused because I'm very athletic doing all kinds of sports that you can dream of. Finally After a year passed I had a total of 6 Arthroscopic knee surgeries done during a 30 year span on my knees due to torn cartilages and one of the surgeries was an ACL reconstructive knee surgery on my left knee. Obviously, after time I was diagnosed with osteoporosis and whatever medical terms...lol. How I heard about Dr. Eberly was my mom had surgery done on both her knees successfully thanks to Dr. Eberly!! Keep in mind my mom was almost 90 years old!! My mom happen to mentioned my situation to Dr. Eberly. She told him my medical insurance would not do any knee replacements due to my A1C level being over 7.0 or below also I had some psoriasis on my knee as well. Dr. Eberly asked my mom if it was Kaiser Permanente who was denying the surgery? The answer was yes. My first left knee surgery occurred on 02/25/2021 (granddaughter birthday) I was 63. My second knee surgery was done 08/01/2023. Obtw, my Kaiser doctor which is retired now said, "I would probably need both full knee replacements @ the age of 55" pretty close estimate since I was in my 20's back then. Oh I also forgot to mention I've experienced a triple bypass heart surgery 2025. Currently "2026" my future goals now are bicycle racing w/ nephew & friends etc., golfing, scuba diving. I live in California so I plan to visit Dr. Eberly and crew whenever possible to let them know how grateful I am having a second chance in life with my new titanium knees..lol. Maybe I can scuba dive while I'm down there near the ocean. I've been referring people that need knee surgeries to Dr. Eberly. And to others I haven't met I recommend Dr. Eberly to anyone. Thanks for your time. God bless. David. read more

My family has trusted Dr. Eberly for years! He has fixed up my dad's knees and my shoulders. I see a lot of reviews talking about wait times, but the special thing about Dr. Eberly is he takes the time to explain exactly what's happening with your ailment and how he intends to treat it. He is very thorough and actually cares about his patients, which is hard to find these days. I've never once felt rushed, which is a breath of fresh air in today's medical field! read more

My wife & I, both had helpful & understanding advice with Dr. Eberly & his professional sincere staff. Both our surgeries went very well & we received great care. We were highly recommended by our primary doctor to meet with Dr. Eberly, So glad we did. read more

Dr. Eberly performed nano knee surgery on my mother and everything went well. Very pleased with his great knowledge and service he provided. One should consider this operation if they have knee problems for their own good and should invest in themselves. Thank you Dr. Eberly. read more

After about 30 years of knee issues, I went to Dr. Eberly for advice. After reviewing my x-rays, he told me my knee was in bad shape. He was very straight forward in explaining the Nano knee replacement procedure. He and his office staff were very helpful in scheduling the surgery. I received clear instructions on what to do pre-surgery and post-surgery. I returned home with an 8 x 4-inch bandage covering the incision. I used the walker for a day and a half, then walked on my own. I've been home now for four days and walk with a limp, but I can drive and do most things on my own. Four days after surgery I was able to remove my bandage and take a shower. For the little pain I have (and I mean little), I take Tylenol. I would be remiss if I did not mention the excellent service provided by the staff at PIH hospital in Downey. read more

Just went in a couple days ago and safe to say this will continue to be my go to orthopedic office for myself and family members, I spoke to some of the patients and one of the patients traveled from Canada to come see Dr Eberly because one of his friends had knee surgery and had an amazing outcome. Dr Eberly and his staff continue to be just as awesome! read more

"A L." wrote on 3/16/19, "Shame on those that give this office a bad rating due to waiting time." Perhaps Dr. Eberly is a great doctor as others say... But let's face it. When you go to a doctor of any specificity, communication between YOU, the patient, and the other medical professionals (receptionists, nurses, technicians, etc.) is just as crucial. Dr. Eberly's cannot be serious about allowing a patient to wait 2 1/2 hours and *still* not be seen by a *single* medical professional. There wasn't a simple "we're sorry, but we are really behind today. It's going to be a few hours before we get to you." Or "we are going to have to reschedule you because we are overbooked with other patients." Or "the doctor is running late." None of that. No communication whatsoever. Better not be sending us a bill for no service. read more

Dr. Eberly and his staff are top notch, I had no issues with my hip replacement, the surgery went excellent and can barely see any scar. I can't recommend Dr. Eberly enough to get the replacement instead of living in pain, the office staff is awesome, very professional, they answer back quickly and don't try to dodge you. read more

Sending a note of praise for Dr Eberly and his entire team. Had as good an experience as one could hope having a full knee replacement. Based on friends who had their knee(s) done through the traditional procedure, it was a long and painful process. I kept putting it off based on their input until my rheumatologist shared feedback from some of his patients who had their knees replaced through the NanoKnee process. Did some due diligence and found Dr Eberly. Met with Dr Eberly and immediately felt comfortable. He checked out my knee and walked me through the NanoKnee process. He spent as much time as I needed answering my questions. Was also comforted by the many words of praise I heard for Dr Eberly from the hospital outpatient staff who see him at work. Had my NanoKnee replacement done as an outpatient. Was walking with a walker the very next day. Was walking around my house without the walker on day two and walking outside, around my block with no assistance and little discomfort on day three. Started driving by day 8 and have continued my recovery at a pretty good pace. Have had some manageable discomfort from time to time as I've continued to work my range of motion through the "at home" exercises prescribed but have yet to need any pain medication. For a 67 year old guy ,I'm amazed at how quickly I've been recovering. I'm only 8 weeks from the procedure and just scheduled some light workouts in the gym with a trainer. Also happy to share my very positive experience with Dr Eberly's office staff. Found them to be well organized, proactive in handling all the related details, provide great follow up and were noticeably pleasant & supportive in making everything so easy for me. Highly recommend Dr Eberly for his knowledge & skill of the NanoKnee procedure as well as attention to detail and caring bedside manner. You owe it to yourself to speak with him if considering a knee replacement. read more

I am 73 and had bone on bone arthritis in my right knee. I was blessed to have Dr. Vance Eberly performed my knee replacement surgery. He is highly skilled and has great people skills. I walked out of the hospital the day after surgery, I was driving in 2 weeks and only used my walker for 3 days. I am so pleased with Dr. Vance and his hospital staff that all worked together so welll. I have no pain, no disfigurement in my knee and participate in all my usual activities. My other knee has no pain now that I had surgery on my right knee. Best decision I ever made to call Dr. Vance Sharon Inglewood Calif. read more

Best Surgeon ever! Dr Vance Eberly performed a partial (NANO) knee replacement on Dec 29, 2023. I have had numerous surgeries for sports injuries, births and cancer and Dr Eberly stands out as the best! He really listens. After his physical examination, he sent me to get an MRI, then a follow up XRAY. We discussed options and since I am an avid tennis player, the best recommendation was for a partial knee replacement. I said, just do the whole thing, I don't want to come back in 5 years and do this again to which he responded, you don't need a full knee replacement. The partial will take care of the problem, I will not need another surgery and rehab will be shorter. YAY! A month later I had my surgery. I was able to walk the next day but because of the nerve block (which almost completely minimizes any paid) I used the walker to avoid a misstep or fall. 2 days later I was walking. I iced it religiously, took Celebrex for swelling and stretched it as instructed to reduce the scar tissue. 2 weeks later I went to see the 49ers win the NFC Championship. What sold me on Dr Eberly is many things including his bedside manner but mostly from recommendations from previous patients, his use of latest proven technology (NANO knee) and knowing what an ethical person he is and that his techniques are highly technical and precise (and his office manager Minerva is amazing)! He is a caring doctor that will make time to see you to ensure your follow up care is progressing. My post op speaks to the excellence of his surgical skills as I am hoping to start playing gentle tennis in another week. (with Dr Eberly's approval only!) Please reach out to me if you have any questions. Call Dr Eberly at Downey Orthopedic Specialists for my contact info. The office number is (562) 923-6112. read more

I went to the Nano Clinic in Downey last weekend for severe arthritis knee pain. I was seen by Dr Eberly, who was very professional and informative. He actually gave me the time of day and allowed me to ask questions. Not like some Doctors who are in a big hurry to see the next patient. Another plus was his assistant, Minerva who was just outstanding. She was very professional, friendly and a really nice person. I highly recommend you give this place a visit you won't regret it! Dr. Eberly is professional, competent, and completely knowledgeable. He took one look at my son and knew exactly what he needed, while I had been told a completely different (and depressing) story by another ortho clinic - who I insisted refer us here. I went through quite a bit of red tape to get my son seen by Dr. Eberly and it was totally worth it. He was even able to get x-rays during this appt -without waiting- confirming his condition. For all who complain about wait time: the wait really wasn't so bad but to be honest, I would have waited all day for my son to have the privilege of being evaluated and treated by such a wonderful doctor! read more

I read all of the bad reviews about wait time and yes, I was extremely concerned about how long I was going to have to wait since my appointment was at 4:30, office closes at 5 and there were 3 people ahead of me and 4 after me. I couldn't figure out how the doc was going to see that many patient and give proper time & attention all within 30 minutes? My total wait time was about 20-30 minutes and just like any other doctor, he spent about 10 minutes with me. I appreciate that he answered all of my questions, was very easy to talk to and very direct- he didn't push any medications on me (but he did make suggestions, which I appreciated). The downside was that I was called in for an X-ray and my issue was not bone related (therefore an X-ray would be useless) and I had to tell the X-ray tech no thank you - otherwise I would've been charged for an X-ray or two that weren't needed. This is no fault of the doctors but the staff should be educated better on what a patient needs before they see the doctor. read more

Came here for a left knee issues, they were not interested in hearing what the problem was, they didn't look at my knee or my X rays they just said you need to take an x-ray. I said no thank you I need an MRI, (because I already have XRays) Dr said he would not move forward without me getting xRays. It was clear this place cares more about the insurence money than they do the patients. read more

Those who are going to Dr. Vance Eberly DO NOT GO. I went as a Referral by my primary doctor and regret he he even sent me there. The Staff is so Unorganized my appointment was at 9:15 AM it took two hours for me to be seen by the doctor. When I got back there he came in an talked to me but could not decide what he was going to do until he saw the MRI of my shoulder. He told me to bring in the MRI DVD of my shoulder live it with the staff and he would call me to let me know what his plan was I never heard from him . So after 2 weeks I called and found out they could not locate the DVD for that reason he had not seen it. It has now been 2 weeks but I been dealing with a torn rotor cuff for almost 6 months, they are So Unorganized Please Do Not Go To This Office. read more

I had my nano knee replacement on 3/6/23. I can not say it enough how much I appreciate Dr Eberly and his staff. I never waited more then 20 minutes in his office. Minerva is was so helpful and always available for any questions. She was so quick with my paperwork for my job, a true professional and so kind. From my first appointment till the surgery and after Dr Eberly has taken time to explain and answer all my questions. He is an amazing surgeon. After my surgery they have you walking with a walker the next day. I was able to stop using the walker after 3 days. I was only sore like after a workout but no pain in my knee. Of course I wasn't walking normal in 3 days but I could definitely get around fine. After 2 weeks much better, I was also able to bend my knee some and now after 2 months my knee is doing so well my only issue is I'm dealing with sciatica on that side. That has hindered the strengthening process but all in all it has been a great experience and I thank God I found Dr Eberly and his staff. The nano knee is amazing the only downside is the 8500 out of pocket for the 3D imaging but I am submitting that to my insurance and hopefully I can get something back. I have read that some have been able to get it paid by the insurance. read more

Great doctor and staff highly recommended for orthopedic injuries. I called and Minerva gave me an appointment right away to see the doctor.

Dr Eberly is one of a few Drs doing the NANOKNEE knee replacement procedure. I have had years of knee issues and tried every option available. Drs kept telling me I was too young for a knee replacement since the current implants only last 15 years or so. Enter Dr Eberly and the NANOKNEE. I met with Dr E and immediately knew this was what I was waiting for. He answered all of my questions and had his team-member Minerva meet with me to figure out the insurance side of it. Minerva went above and beyond with extra research and found a way for my PPO insurance to cover the maximum allowed. I took my husband to meet Dr E so he could get a comfort level with the Doc and answer all of his questions as well. Each meeting, Dr Eberly was timely, concise, extremely knowledgeable and very forthcoming with any info we requested. I am now a week post NANOKNEE surgery and have basically been walking since the day of surgery! Minerva, in Dr Eberlys office, follows up with me on a regular basis and gets answers from Dr E whenever I have questions. They are truly God-Sent! I read past reviews about clients having to wait to see him. I never experienced this in any of my meetings, but if I did, I wouldn't care. He is 100% worth it!! I wouldn't trust my orthopedic needs to anyone else. Thank you, Dr Eberly! You're the best! read more

If you have to wait to see Dr. Eberly... and I have waited a while at times to see him, it's is so worth the wait. He is an excellent doctor. He is absolutely my favorite doctor. You ask him a question, and he gives you the straight up on what he thinks. Yeah I've waited and I've complained... but of late, I've waited a very short time to see him. He has improved the service he provides along with the help in the office. They are all very helpful, considerate and kind. He is the best doctor I've ever known to treat me, answer my questions and guide me to get the best treatment possible. read more

Dr Eberly is amazing. He's kind and caring. It's readily apparent how intelligent and capable he is. I highly recommend him. I had both knees replaced with the Nano Knee procedure and my recovery was so quick and easy. Being the klutz that I am I have fallen more than once post surgery, not because of my knees but rolling my ankle or tripping. Each time I've called after falling his staff gets me in right away to see him. His office Manager, Minerva, is very caring and sweet. Xiomara is also great, his whole team really is caring and helpful. He has also seen me for elbow pain and a torn ligament in my wrist, he consistently goes above and beyond in his care for me. I'm really grateful for him and his staff! read more

I was referred to this office. I had a great experience. Only waited 20 min. to be called in. Compared to my family doctor around 1 hour wait at every appointment. Staff very rude. I was referred to this office and reading the reviews while in waiting room I can totally agree with what everyone is saying. So they called me in right away so at first I thought oh maybe they are wrong. WRONG! They put me in a room only to wait their for over an hour. They called me prior to appointment to let me know to bring my MRI disc in so the doctor could review. This was about two weeks ago. They just called me in today two weeks after my appointment to ask if I had an MRI done and to bring disc in on next appointment. So I guess that's why he never went over it. While trying to go over my Xray with me on his laptop, it died on him so that was the end of that. He continued on by pointing at a picture of a knee bone on the wall. Long story short, it was an awful experience and I called for a referral to a different specialist the very next day. read more

Dr. Eberly is a GREAT doctor!!! Daughter injured her knee during track practice. Minerva was able to schedule appt same day. Doctor's exam was very thorough and he provided a detailed explanation. Dr..did not rush and he was very friendly and approachable. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!! Idk why people are complaining about wait time! Every office you go to you must wait. Shame on those that give this office a bad rating due to waiting time. Since I have HMO ins, I need everything pre-approved and referrals. Xiomara was able to assist with all the approvals, she understood my urgency and really helped us out. By the next day I had an MRI appt and had the approval for her knee brace. It really is about teamwork and I had to be on top of my health ins and medical group to help move things along. Thank you Dr Eberly and thanks to his staff.
