I had a successful left hip replacement 2.5 years ago by another surgeon who used a more universal posterior approach with MAKO robotic assist, so I have a good point of comparison. Dr. Wassef uses the DSA (Direct Superior Approach) with MAKO robotic assist which is currently a less common method due to the specific training and technique required to do this approach (google DSA to see differences). In simple terms i have been blown away at how minimally invasive this approach seems to be. Without a doubt, to date, this technique has been less painful than my previous hip. I am so impressed at how quickly I was walking normally without a walker or cane and without any limp. At 2 weeks in I am in PT doing exercises that i could not get to many many weeks beyond the 2 week point with my previous hip. Incision is quite small as well but i am not a "meaty" guy so not sure what allowed me to have such a small incision. Lastly I have NO problem taking narcotic pain meds like oxycodone! I'm not an abuser but definitely a willing user if need be. After this surgery I had real trouble justifying much of any use of the Oxy prescribed. I easily survived on two 500 mg tabs of Tylenol 2x's a day once in AM and once before bed. Thanks Doc.

Renée, the massage therapist, is also excellent , very skilled and therapeutic. I always leave feeling significantly better. I have to schedule with her if u want a good massage The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is due to ongoing communication issues at the front desk. It can be very difficult to get someone to answer the phone, and when calls are answered, the interactions are rushed. The front desk staff never greets or smiles . There have also been occasions where I was told I would receive a callback to confirm whether the an appt was available but I never received one. I always have to keep calling I genuinely value Dr. Soria and Renée's care, and I hope the office can improve front desk service because the treatment itself is excellent. With stronger administrative support, this practice would easily be 5 stars.

I also had staples in my knee and they were taken out 2 days when leaving the hospital. I did bleed a little bit and butterfly bandages were put on. I had in home therapy for a few weeks with a outside therapy company who came to my house with no complications! Starting on 2-10-2025, I went to Dr. Combs therapist and on the 2nd appointment, one of the therapist dropped my leg on the table and telling the head therapist my leg slipped out of his hands! Ever since then, my leg has been declining! I tell Dr Combs about the incident each time I see him once a month and it seems not to faze him one bit! I even had a second opinion with his colleague Dr Andrew J Wassef, who immediately saw that I had water in my knee! Dr Combs didn't even see that after all the months I have seen him!!!!! I asked Dr Wassef the injury I had at the therapist office could have caused the water in my knee, he said yes! Dr Combs ran all kinds of tests on me with negative results. They cannot tell me why my knee is still swollen(possible water in knee again), giving out on me, painful, stiff and still clicking. The Dr's pulled 1oz of water out of my knee which showed negative infection. These doctors rather have me to do the footwork to find out my own problem! In my eyes, this is very UNPROFESSIONAL and I cannot deal with this! The medical Review Board will hear about this!!!!

A Recovery Journey Worth Celebrating…read more After major neck surgery, I specifically requested Southland Physical Therapy by name--and they exceeded every expectation. This facility became my path back to full conditioning, and I'm grateful for every session. What struck me immediately was the diversity of the patient community: athletes training for competition, working professionals recovering from injuries, people of all ages united by one thing--a willingness to do the work. That environment itself became motivating. The entire team deserves recognition. Every therapist and PTA brought expertise and genuine care to their work. The operational excellence impressed me too: reminders arrived the day before appointments, they consistently ran on time despite high volume, and every interaction came with a smile. A special acknowledgment to Conner, who balanced knowledgeable instruction with the perfect level of challenge. Each week, he pushed me just beyond what I'd accomplished the week before--exactly what I needed to progress. Beyond physical recovery, Southland reminded me of something essential: how to stay positive regardless of the challenges we face. That lesson extends far beyond the treatment room. If you're willing to put in the work, this is where you want to be.

They hang up without saying goodbye, they talk like they're doing you a favor by answering the phone or any of your questions and they sound like they haven't been trained at all. The aides are friendly but only a couple of them actually watch and help you with your form on your exercises which is the point of their job. It is hard to rate this location because the therapists themselves are excellent. It's just everything else. Management should take more of an interest in training their staff.
