I had broken my ankle, and a few months broke my ankle. Dr. Luk was my caregiver This is a first-class facility. The staff is very thorough and kind. The equipment is top-notch. I can't say enough about my experiences with Dr. Luk. She was super knowledgeable and detailed in her description and treatment of my injuries. Her best attribute is her ability to listen. I hope you don't get injured, but if you should have faith in this facility. If you should have to cancel, make sure you cancel more than 24 hours before your appointment or you will be charged. What a horrible experience do not go here! The staff is incredibly rude mainly the front deck office workers. Never had such a bad experience with receptionist. The two women who both had dark hair avoid at all coast. I spoke to one on the phone who pretended to drop the call and not hear me even though the line was still connected and the other women I spoke to when I called back didn't even finish talking to me just put it on hold without saying anything just that it seems like she didn't want to to do her job and speak to me anymore and my concerns with my disability. So incredibly rude it was unbelievable. Were super unprofessional and discriminated to me due to my disability and that is highly illegal and unethical. In a really bad scary area of La if this practice was any good they wouldn't be in a sketch building in south central. read more

Ok , I have never seen a specialist of any kind till 49 rolled around lol however, I am beyond content with both left and right hand Carpal Tunnle & Middle Trigger Finger Surgery. I am ready with full force ! I had my right done in June then my left in November. Jennifer Hertz was very very thorough with me on each office visit regarding procedure, rehab time. I cannot stress enough how verbal, attentive she was with me as her patient. I was truly in amazement on the recovery time. The first day or two is the hardest ok 3, However it was smooth sailing therefore after. Same time Jennifer Hertz is in this new building , with ample parking , security, cameras throughout. I broke my arm and underwent treatment at a clinic under the care of Dr. Hertz. She was always very attentive and compassionate. It's wonderful to see people who love their profession and are highly competent in it. As proof, my arm is now healed, and my rehabilitation after surgery was done correctly. I have ganglion cyst I saw her twice she is very nice . D she was going to remove it and changed her mind. Now it is larger. My dermatologist said this is very common. I would highly recommend Dr. Jennifer Hertz if you have hand or wrist surgical needs. I fractured my scaphoid in a fall and several months later it had still not healed properly. Dr. Hertz was understanding and compassionate at my delay in finding appropriate treatment - she was never condescending or reprimanding, as another surgeon I consulted with was. Her warmth, thoroughness and realistic description of potential outcomes were the deciding factors in why I chose her as my surgeon. I had a bone graft and screw inserted to aid in healing and all was healed in the first 4 weeks after surgery. Having access to onsite x-rays made the long drive to Culver City worth it - she was able to handle all follow ups in her office during my appointments. 8 months later and my wrist and hand are back to normal. She cautioned that I might not ever be able to do push-ups or down-ward dog again. I think that pushed me harder to perform the strength and mobility exercises she prescribed. I am happy to report that down-ward dog is back in my wheelhouse! And I am on my way to full push-ups again. I am 43 years old and am so grateful that my dominant hand is fully functioning and will hopefully be able to avoid painful arthritis due to Dr. Hertz' expertise and skill. Dr. Hertz is everything you want in a doctor. Kind, caring, thorough, and no-nonsense. Thankfully my broken finger is healing without surgery, so I cannot speak to her skills as a surgeon, but I would not hesitate to go under the knife with her based on my experience after two visits. Her front office staff are friendly and efficient. I was able to get my first appointment a few days after the ER, and they verified my insurance on the phone prior to my arrival. Once I arrived I was checked in quickly and while I did need to fill out some paperwork I appreciated that there was no redundancy in it. I have been to other doctors where I had to re-write my name and address several times for difference forms. None of that nonsense here! Dr. Hertz saw me on-time both visits and took all the time I needed to understand my healing process and what to expect in the coming weeks. She even helped correct some over-prescribing by the ER docs. I hope this is the last hand injury I ever get but should I need this specialty again I will go to Dr. Hertz first! read more

Here are some reasons why I think you should stop searching and give her office a call: 1) She's an extremely effective communicator. If she doesn't know something, she tells you. She picked up on this and every single conversation we've had has been perfectly aligned with my preferences - she answers questions before I'm even able to ask them. 2) She's extremely responsive. I occasionally email her office and she has personally responded within 24 hours every time. This is important when you're in pain and unsure about your future. 3) She's generous. I saw her once, but she empathized with the fact that I live far away and offered to provide an assessment of CT scans without requiring me to book a physical appointment, unlike other physicians who are eager to bill insurance above all else. 4) She loves what she does. If you've ever been in a leadership or management position, you know one of the first rules to building a solid team is to ensure that everyone on your team actually enjoys the work that they do. This carries over to your search for healthcare as well. Money won't keep someone up researching the latest studies on a very particular condition so that they can painstakingly engineer an optimal outcome for you based on comprehensive risk assessment; passion will. You want passion on your side, not apathy or greed. Finding a trustworthy medical professional in the US is murky business due to the incentive structures that the insurance industry has imposed upon the market. Doctors are increasingly under pressure to bill more and care less. Dr. Hertz is truly amazing. I had a cyst that was putting pressure on an artery. She examined me in a way I had never been examined before. I was turned away by 6 doctors saying they couldn't help me. I did a lot of research and knew my only option was surgery. On my first visit she took X-rays and requested surgery. Dr Hertz would get 100 stars from me if it was possible. She was able to track down the pain caused from my cubital tunnel syndrome and perform the release surgery. The numbness, tingling and pain will take a while to heal but the strength has already started to return in my hand. This isn't a review about the doctor herself because I never got to see her. The main point is that the lady who works the front desk may be a bit too aged to function reasonably. So if you want the absolutely accurate recount of what I experienced with her - which was pretty crazy, then read on. - Summary: For being 30 minutes late, she wanted me to wait anywhere from 2.5 to 4 hours, or likely more, to be seen. This, while patients who had arrived before me, and then patients who had arrived after me (at least 4 before I left) continued to sign in, be seen, and then leave before my eyes. It REALLY sucks cuz I wasted 3 hours and Dr. Hertz reviews seem to be amazing :/ - A very accurate recollection of what happened yesterday: When I called to set up the appointment the lady at the call center said to me "We might be running a little behind at that part of the day". I appreciate the heads up and told them I would probably be a few minutes late, and they chuckled. I arrived at my 2PM appointment at 2:30 - which was 20 minutes later than I anticipated because I did not realize I was going to the furthest part of Culver City - which is 40 minutes from my house. Upon arrival the front desk lady pulled me to the side and said, "You were in fact 30 minutes late so I will have to let the patients who arrived on time go before you". I told her I completely understood and asked approximately what the wait time would be. She said 30 minutes, and thanked her and returned to my seat. At this time there were three patients who were already in the waiting area who had arrived before me. Now, those patients weren't even seeing for an entire hour after my arrival. The point being, even if I had arrived on time it would not have affected the scheduling or flow of patients being seen. Nonetheless, I had no problem being put in the queue of when I arrived, which was what I thought was happening. Side note: At some point a charming young man walked in and was immediately taken to the back to speak with one of the nurses, and then taken to a room for the doctor to see him. I can only imagine they had some level of personal connection with this young man. Nonetheless, he did in fact skip ahead all of us before our eyes. Now, finally, at 4 PM (2 hours after my appointment, 15. hours after my arrival), all of the people who arrived before me had been seen and I was anticipating going next... Well, not the case. Instead, someone who had arrived at approximately 3:15, (45 minutes after me) was called in. So, I went to the front desk lady to ask her what exactly the deal was- but she was occupied by another patient. In that time the patient actually made it in and out very quickly. And yet, *another* person who arrived *after* me went in....? So, to be clear, the three people who were there before me were seen in a time period of 1.5 hours (or, two hours after my original appointment time). Then, two people who had arrived after me went in, and I still had not been called. At this point, there were now two more people who had arrived in the waiting area sometime after 3:15. Ok. The moment of truth: When the front desk lady was finished talking to another patient I asked her what the plan was and where I stood in the que. She told me there is now two people ahead of me.. Obviously, I was pretty shocked because this didn't seem to make any sense at all. So I asked her the obvious question,"Are you telling me that basically anyone who shows up on time for the rest of the day will continue to be seen before me? Because, if that is the case, then I'll basically be waiting until the end of your workday, which would be a roughly 3-4 hour wait.. Furthermore, you gave me a rough estimate of 30 minutes. We are now at 1 1/2 hours. I'm sitting here roughly 3 feet from you so I think it would've been at least decent of you to tell me that your estimate was going to tripled if not quadrupled. Or, certainly to let me know that there was a high potential of me being here till six or 7 PM. This is absurd." She looked at me somewhat nervous and somewhat intolerant and just said,"Well, I'm sorry, but these people arrived on time for their appointment."I said,"Yes but that is certainly not the picture you painted to me. I think this is highly inconsiderate and not at all how scheduling is generally carried out." She then replied somewhat condescendingly,"Well, I can reschedule you if you would like". I looked at her with wide eyes and just said,"Oh no, there is definitely not going to be another appointment. There is no way I'm doing business here". Obviously, it was kind of a bummer to waste an hour and a half driving and a full day waiting by what I think anyone would agree is very disrespectful and uncommon scheduling tactics. Tactics which would seem to be based in some sort of a punishment or antagonization formula. So, there it is, do you wish with it. But that is my story and nothing has been exaggerated or stretched. Her office is well organized and when you arrive on time, you are able to see the doctor in a timely manner. I used to go to another orthopedic and that office seems to overbook the doctor to the point you are waiting close to an hour each visit. Dr Hertz is a very pleasant doctor to see. Dr. Hertz is fantastic. I had a pretty badly broken thumb, and after surgery and physical therapy I was able to exceed my range-of-motion goals and am now able to do everything physically that I was able to do prior to the accident. In addition to the smooth surgery, Dr. Hertz made herself available to assist me with ALL of my questions regarding insurance and billing which helped make the process much less of a headache than it otherwise would have been.
