I am replying to your self serving answer. I have what is called late stage osteoporosis of the knee- which means that there isn't much cartilage remaining. Your suggestion that I spend 3500. for each injection of stem cells (called jelly by you) would be ridiculous and only serving to enrich your bank account. Unfortunately you were not honest and I find you repulsive. STEM CELLS CANNOT REGROW CARTILAGE. When the cartilage disappears, then bone starts to take it's place - hence where you get the term "bone on bone." I would have been a better and more honest doctor than you anyday. read more

Best decision I ever made, and wish we would have gone sooner! Both doctors, Dr. Darrow and Dr. Grove are exceptional as far as their knowledge AND skill. I've taken my daughter multiple times over several years and her relief has always been immediate, each time. Prolotherapy gave her a life, after she had been suffering over a year and there's nothing else out there like it. I do give her something to relax before, because it is quite a few injections in her neck (C spine) the problem area. She has hypermobility and no curve in her neck, and is 22 years old. I recently saw Dr. GROVE to have stem cell therapy for a tear the meniscus in my knee. Dr. GROVE was very thorough in providing me all the details I needed to know about the stem cell therapy process required to treat my meniscus so that I would completely understand his treatment and confident before starting. When he did the therapy to my knee it only took an hour, and because he was able to remove a lot of water out from the swelling in my knee...besides inserting the stems cells in the tear of my knee, I felt a lot of the pressure leave after a few days. I read up on PRP and related treatments for knees, and got in touch with Dr. Darrow. He and his staff were amazing and the procedure itself was done incredibly smoothly and thoroughly. After some time of post-procedure care and rest I could feel that the treatment delivered positive results in both knees. To really get the most benefit, you should do multiple treatments and allow plenty of time for the treated area to recover. But I can say that even just one treatment can have positive effects. Dr. Darrow's staff are arrogant and rude, especially Amanda with whom a spat of lengthy follow up emails and phone calls had my jaw dropping with her callous and blunt attitude....for no apparent reason. Blood draw staff can be quite bad too. I was poked 4 times to draw blood each time I visited, by the same lady, who never succeeded --all while her colleague always got it on the first try. (Yes, this entire scenario played out twice!). The blood draw staff also had the nerve to tell me it was my vein that was the issue....even after her colleague had no issue in front of her very eyes. Dr. Darrow is clearly pusher: his personal bandwidth for both my visits felt extremely short. He did not catch a hip impingement on either of my soft tissue scans, and it didn't even seem to matter if you had a scan or not, ate well that day or rested or not.... while you're already there they prefer to treat you asap (red flag, people). You wait hours to get your turn, and yes that's prior to the hours after the blood draw.... During the waiting experience: It was disheartening to hear Dr. Darrow's pressured sales tactics on non-native English speakers (clearly in pain), from the room next door. He used similar tactics on me and others. I often heard, " well do you want to get better or not?" and no surprise he took the same tone with me when I was only asking clarifying questions about the differences in outcomes for patients in response to (Prolo vs. PRP vs. "Stem"). When it came to the cost of my care, he asked me to "name my price," to fix my problems, and used pressured one-liner sales tactics along the way. Looking back, his responses were short ... and I say this despite coming back to him twice because I wanted to believe in what he was selling me. All in all, I think everyone can let a lot slide if the people you are working with are courteous and truly compassionate....OR if the treatments actually work. Unfortunately neither are true here, even 5K later... I felt slightly improved for 2 weeks (thanks doc, I know results vary) and then back to pain for me immediately. I'd rather have booked a nice trip or even donated it to charity of my choice. 2 stars because the guy who assessed my motion did seem like he knew what he was doing :) P.S. You also never get to see the stem cell mixing, so you have no way of really knowing if it's just PRP he's giving you when you pay a premium for stem cells. FYI Dr. Darrow uses a brand called Regenexx--a company based out of Pensicola,FL-- not technically stem cells.... so he calls it "PRP+"). read more

Dr. Thomas Grove is an excellent doctor. He has treated me with platelet injections in my knee a couple of years ago and more recently in my toe and ankle. Unfortunately, as much as I hoped & prayed for healing, I was one of the evidently few patients who did not have a successful outcome from my PRP + Magellan stem cell injections. I had six treatments in all. Three for my right hip & three for my right knee. I'm not sure why I was not a good candidate or what steps I should now take to help my worsening pain & immobility. Overall, the appointment was fine. (I didn't do the PRP as of yet.) Dr. Grove did an ultrasound showing I had excellent cartilage of the knee for someone over 30 (I'm 69 years old). (No bone on bone issue.) He mentioned something about slight meniscus tears and patella ligament (I think) rupture. He also said I had previous meniscus tears which apparently healed on their own. I didn't know I had that issue before. Further, Dr. Grove mentioned that science may be looking into PRP (I think) for damaged nerves. (My femoral nerve was damaged from hernia surgery.)
