I was so bummed because last time that happened to me years ago, all the quotes I was getting to repair the damage was around $300. I came to this location on a Monday morning after speaking to Cody, the receptionist, who was very pleasant and informative. I was there within an hour of my call. Candy, the welder, came out to speak to me and to inspect the damage. I had to leave my car due to the type of damage I caused to the rim. I'm a lady and this made me super nervous and also a bright red light coming on telling me theres a problem with tire pressure. I caught a mobile wheel repair truck parked next to their place. I'm not sure if they sub to that business regularly or only when they're swamped. They also did not balance my wheels properly after the repair/repaint. My regular mechanic saw that they painted over the old balancing weights and added more weights. My car hit a pothole on a freeway offramp after one of the crazy rains this winter, resulting in a bent rim and flat tire. We took the car to Costco tires but they couldn't repair the dent in the wheel and recommended we go down the street to this shop. The owner took a look and told us that they unfortunately could only repair alloy wheels (ours is steel), so instead ordered us a new steel wheel. After a 2-ish day wait, wheel arrived, we stopped by in the morning before work and they installed our tire onto the new wheel, balanced it and put it back on our car in ~20mins. Price for the part and labor was quite reasonable and the shop was helpful and straightforward to work with. Would recommend! read more

Seven months later, have never heard back from the business regarding my review. (I do realize I've only reviewed a couple of places, so Yelp suppresses reviews, until it knows I'm an actual, legitimate person. So, my review was there, but it wasn't on the main page, and you had to go seek it out.) After having to alter my ad to say that my wheels had blemishes, I did finally sell them a few months later. I didn't get the amount I wanted for the wheels, but in the grand scheme of things all is well. They're sold. I'm still kind of surprised I never heard anything back. If I could post my pics on just my review, I would. But I'm not looking to rub things in by posting my pictures of my blemished wheels on this company's overall Yelp page. i walked into this place looking for some wheel covers and while being there, most of the costumers were rude, and had a sense of entitlement as if they owned the place. Prices are reasonable, but the inventory is quite vast, not also this but Scott was beyond helpful and very attentive, and if something is not there, he'll do his best to look it up and order it. Hands down a great professional business. I got my wheels refinished in black. I wanted it flat but Scott recommended to go semi gloss as that is less delicate. The wheels look amazing. It was done in the the time promised and the price was great as well. I ended up having to replace a tire that had some extremely small holes in it. So small that it did not bubble in the water tank. Soap slowly brought them out. Carlos was patient to check till he found the issue, the new tire was fair priced and all is perfect. You guys never advised me to not repair the wheel, and why would you when it's not good for business? I asked if you could repair the wheel and you agreed to it and charged $110 for it and it didn't hold up more than a couple weeks. If you can't repair something, don't even offer to repair it, and especially don't get snappy when I tell you that I feel like I threw $110 down the drain. I ended up spending $90 on a new wheel somewhere else, so how was trying to get it repaired trying to save money? I was trying to keep original parts and integrity of my car, and you guys should have advised against that. This is what you do for a living and you should have known better, but you didn't, and I lost money to you because of it. read more

Hit a curb on freeway onramp took a chunk out of my factory bmw wheel. Tried to have one of the mobile service fix but they said damage was too bad to fix and recommended van nuys wheel. I needed to repair some damage done on the rim of a mercedes which I borrowed. Scott, the owner, gave me a very reasonable quote - actually it was half of what a friend who is in the Porsche restoration business thought it would cost. When I expressed that i need the repair done ASAP as I need to return the car, he asked me to come next morning and will get the car done by early afternoon (the original estimate was 1.5 - 2 days). I showed up the next day before Scott arrived, and his employees were friendly and helpful. I also needed some minor body work done, and they suggested that I should go to other body shops nearby for a quote - and said "it is so minor, they should do it for free". I actually did manage to get the small work done for free from a nearby bodywork shop! Anyway, back to Van Nuys Hubcaps and wheels - Scott did finish the wheels in the afternoon even though when I went to pick up the car - i noticed his phones kept ringing, one of his employees had to leave early for a family emergency, and also somebody hit one of his delivery vehicles and it was very stressful. He knew I needed the car and he apologized that it took a bit longer - remember, he was doing a rush job for me and didnt expect how busy that day would be. Anyway, he was more than nice and i was so grateful for his work (which was perfect) at a reasonable price - I wanted to buy him lunch as I knew that he would not have eaten but he politely declined. If you need repair to your rim, please do yourself a favor and go to Van Nuys Hub Cups and Wheels and ask for Scott. read more
