Now we all know everyone in the South Bay HATES this place lol. It's to no surprise However, my 5 stars are ONLY for the tow driver who worked at the location on Tuesday 03/03/2026 between 5-7pm. He was absolutely GREAT! He made us feel safe and he was working hard around the facilities. He was very kind and sweet. We had to pick up a vehicle from here. Note that they tact on 3% fee when paying by credit card even if 95% Of the payment is in cash. They still tact on 3% of the TOTAL fee of what WAS owed. Van Lingen also charges you a $70 fee in order to release your car. That fee is an additional fee that they are selling your car at the exact 30 days it has been in their possession. Like I said .... This is one of the most hated places in the South Bay. read more

The only reason I give them 2 stars is because after raising a stink about being charging an extra day of storage, when I was there at 8:00 am to pick up my car after my car being towed at 5:00pm the prior day, the removed the extra $101.36 charge. It cost me $508.73 as it was for the tow and storage for less than 24 hours. They charge 3% on a debit card which is absurd.The kid behind the counter was rude and not very knowledgeable. Once I got in my car they had gone through every personal item I had in my car, leaving everything on the front seat and also dumped out a suitcase and left all my clothes rifled through and on my front seat not even placed back in the suitcase. My 17yo son was in an absolutely horrific motorcycle accident where a woman pulled out in front of him and sent him 50 feet into the air only to impact on a concrete pole. Police had what was left of his bike towed here. I had to go down there to photograph the bike for evidence while my son was in the trauma center. That lady, I have no words to describe how awful she was to me. She first rudely asked me why I wanted to see the bike, and she LAUGHED at me when I told her the details and that i needed to get photos. I was literally in tears and she snickered after telling me I couldn't see it because I didn't have his registration. I understood having to prove ownership, but when I tried to ask about other avenues (the registration was lost in the accident) she got extremely rude and literally just walked away from talking smack to me. How unfeeling do you have to be to mock a mother who's son was lying in a trauma bay and just wanted to see his bike. At least when I was finally able to get back there, when I completely broke down at the site, the guy who led me back gave me space to try and process what I was seeing. But that lady? Everybody working here just seems so miserable. You could be the nicest person ever and they'll still find a reason to be rude. The lady at the front desk has the worst attitude and makes you feel bad for trying to take your car out but they're also so quick to take your money. The little old man bringing the car out is just as miserable and rude as the lady. Really makes you think about their hiring process ? because to me it seems as if they hire anybody. A cop scam. They towed my car 2 miles, had it on their lot for 3.5 hours, and charged me $566.50 to get it back. There's a discrepancy on my invoice (see pic attached): it allegedly took 71 minutes to get my car to the lot (it's a 13 minute drive and I watched them leave with my car 15 minutes after arriving, so riddle me that) and they're charging me for 90 minutes. Additionally, my "hooked" time is 35 minutes AFTER the car was allegedly dropped at the lot ("arrived" on the invoice). The invoice didn't even get my name right; they wrote my first name as PULLOE. This entire operation is so slapdash and shoddy. I called in for clarification and Roxy (a certified see you next Tuesday) said it "doesn't matter" what my invoice says (????), they charge what the tow driver tells them to. She got frustrated when I refused to accept that as an answer and asked, "Do you work for a towing company? You can come down to the office Monday and they'll explain it to you" in an incredibly rude tone and generally spoke down to me the entire call. This company is just more money-grubbing pig-owned thievery. I'll call in to speak to a supervisor on Monday, but I doubt they'll do anything, at which point I'll be taking legal action. read more

I just had the worst experience with them. My car got a problem in LA and had to be towed to Orange County. From the actual time they did the work and the time they wasted, they charged me for 3 and half hours for a two hours back and forth drive. They changed the truck and the driver. The second driver was new and got lost in the way and didn't know the paper work so it took a long for him to figure out. They charge you for their inefficiency. read more

I understand the company doesn't care why your vehicle is there, they're there to operate and make income, however I think they should be a little bit more considerate with their rates when people are victims of a crime. I know there's regulations on how much they can charge, but they were quick to have me pay as if my vehicle wasn't just stolen and ripped apart as to add insult to injury. It just makes you wish the criminals would have wrecked it so you wouldn't get screwed, the deductible probably would be cheaper. If you're unfortunate enough to have your car brought to this establishment you should expect the following: - If you call to ask questions about your vehicle; you'll most likely be put on hold and then shortly disconnected. Then when you try to call back all of a sudden no one will answer. - Most respectable places will escort their customer out to their vehicle to grab their registration. I can not emphasize enough the great help that was provided to me last night by this young man named Miguel Sanchez, I called a few tow companies and their estimated time to assist me with a lockout was about 2hr,the urgency of getting help was a priority for me as I was accompanied by my 2 children and it was awfully dark and needed to get my kids home glad Mr.Miguel was able to entertain us and put a smile in our faces regardless the circumstances I was facing, thank you Van Lingen please make sure Miguel's get this review. I am shocked at the negative reviews that victims of car accidents, thefts, vehicles stolen / stripped, and other issues wrote who received towing and support from the Van Lingen Towing staff. I think they must have this company and staff mixed up with another company. As we are recent (Jun-Jul 2023) victims of a vehicle crime - totaled, we didn't know what to do first after the vehicle was located except to go to the police station to get a vehicle release form. Fortunately, Van Lingen Towing staff was chosen to tow and secure our totally stripped vehicle to include the engine, transmission, and lots more. We commend the Van Lingen Towing team on Lomita Blvd for their over-the-top support and care they provided to us in making the right decisions on our dilemma. Note - no wrecking and other similar companies wanted to deal with a vehicle with no engine, transmission, etc. From Marc to Danielle to Jorge to Daisy to Jesus and those I don't have their names, we thank for your personal touch, professionalism, assistance, and respect you provided to us. I would think that most every one who become customers of Van Lingen Towing are somewhat emotional when they enter the front door or work with them on the phone, not knowing what to expect and upset on what happened to them - I was one of them. However, the woman at the front desk was so rude. She had no customer service skills at all. She would talk with a "whatever, not my problem so I don't care about what you're saying" attitude. The staff shrugged it off as they didn't care. Well I had to file a police report in hopes that my belongings will be returned to me. Stephanie was so rude on the phone, I called and to make sure they had my automobile, and she wouldn't let me ask any questions with out talking over me or cutting me off, told me they charge a storage fee of $23 an hour, if I don't get there in the next 30min they will charge me again.So here I am panicking to get there quickly it wasn't until the police station told me that was incorrect. Called Van Lingen Towing after confirming with LASD Carson station that I will need to come in obtain a signed release from my son and pay the vehicle release fee. My call was answered and was asked politely to hold. After the customer rep returned to my call the other line started ringing and once again she politely asked me to hold. I can only imagine the type of calls this rep has to answer but throughout our entire phone call she was polite and pleasant and gave me the info I needed to retrieve my son's car. After looking up the address to get directions I came across all the negative comments and the first thought through my mind was WHAT AM I GOING TO WALK INTO? Well what I walked into was a very professional greeting from Danielle. The reviews I read were no where compared to what I read. Danielle even took the time to come outside to inform me that she had one employee in the back and another out on a call and that it will be a short wait. Thank you Danielle for great customer service. The wait was not long for my son's car to come out and thank you Van Lingen for covering my son's open sunroof due to not having the key to close it when towed. This office has the absolute worst customer service that I have ever seen. Having worked in customer service for six years, I always do my best to be respectful and polite with anyone I interact with, but this office never reciprocated that except maybe one of the women working there and the gentleman who towed my vehicle. My car was involved in an accident and the police department tried to force me to cancel the tow that I had called And stated that their tow company would be there sooner, which turned out to not be true. My company arrived at the same exact time, but because the police were involved, Van Lingen got to tow my car. My car sat in their tow lot for roughly a week and within that timeframe there were additional damages done to my vehicle and I had photographs to prove this. I contacted them get in March to follow their claim procedures and they said they would review their video footage and assure me they would get back to me within 10 days and there was no need to go through my insurance. It's been nearly two months and I've called numerous times and emailed, but still I cannot get connected with the right person. At that time I had asked if they could provide me with the video footage, so that I could confirm that they actually were checking. They rejected my request and stated it was only for in-house use, which is suspicious to me because if my vehicle wasn't damaged there then there would be no issue sharing that footage or bringing me in to view it. My assumption is that they're not getting back to me with any information because they want time so they have an excuse to delete or "lose" the footage. I called this morning to see what could be done and while I was explaining the situation to one of the women she put me on hold and then came back to say, "okay so I don't know what vehicle you're talking about because you just went on and on. So what's the vehicle" The appropriate reaction to mend the situation is to be genuine in your concern, listen to what I need to say and politely ask for the details. Not to put me on hold and give attitude. The fact that she said "went on and on" is so inappropriate and demonstrates how little they care about service. The fact that they have a relationship with the police department is probably the only reason this place is still open. I don't care how long AAA it takes to get there I'm only letting them tow my car. This place is sketchy and lacks professionalism/customer service skills. read more

We had one of our company vehicles towed into this tow yard. The next day the employee driving the vehicle was hoping to get some of her belongings for the event we are holding this weekend. Danielle Veliz was giving us a hard time and was insistent on having us sign a hold harmless agreement. I indicated to Danielle that hold harmless agreement are only required for the release of the vehicle and not release of belongings. Danielle insisted on having our employee sign the agreement even though none of the language indicated it pertained to obtaining belongings. Our insurance provider indicated that a hold harmless agreement is only needed for the release of the vehicle and they take care of it. I called multiple times and they would put me on hold and then the call would mysteriously drop. Danielle asked why i was making this so difficult. I asked her why she was making it difficult and that we as employee's cannot sign these agreements because we cannot be held liable, only the company. My friend was in an automobile accident. He was taken to the hospital and was in a coma. His car was towed to this awful place. The family needed to get access to things inside the car. There was prescription medication and contact information for a doctor he had just seen that only he knew the identity of . This company said he was required to come in person and that no one else would be allowed in the car period. It was explained several times he was in a coma and could not come. The person at this company said these exact words; "you will have to wait it out" . Repeated calls to the manager 'Danille' if she exists, were not returned. We only wanted to find out what steps were needed to satisfy them in a way that would allow family to get his medical necessities. They refused to answer. Smart people at the hospital were able track down what we needed but crucial days were lost. We discussed the meaning of the term involuntary manslaughter if this had ended a certain way. read more
