The staff inside was helpful and willing to answer all my questions. It feels good to support a small business in these unprecedented times when all are struggling. The oil here is only slightly more expensive then your grocery-store high end oil. The only thing I wish was better was their website. I was looking to order online to get it shipped to someone for Christmas and it really wasn't an option unless I wanted it to come in a basic box without a gift note.

We finally made it this past weekend to Vinnie's Mootz for one of their special tasting menu…read morenights, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. If you're expecting a typical dinner, think again. The tasting menu featured around 12 courses, and by course ten I was completely full--but somehow still excited for what was coming next. Every dish was thoughtfully prepared, packed with flavor and very tasty. For me the standout of the night was the very first dish which was Vinnie's homemade mozzarella with tomatoes, which was so good that we even bought some fresh mozzarella to take home. The meatballs were also outstanding, and the steak and eggplant course was another highlight. After all that food, finishing with a cannoli just felt like the perfect ending. The atmosphere is casual and inviting, but the food is every bit as good as what you'd find at restaurants that cost a lot more. Live guitar music throughout the evening added to the experience created a nice vibe. My only suggestion would be maybe to turn it down a notch or two as it was a little hard to hear others at our table. Still a very nice touch though and all songs you would know. I always like it when a chef comes out of the kitchen, especially at a tasting menu, and Vinnie came out several times to chat with guests which was very nice. It just added a personal touch and showed how much pride goes into both the food and the overall experience and we got to hear his back story. This tasting menu is an incredible value and a great way to try dishes you might not normally order. Just remember to come hungry--and maybe skip lunch beforehand. If you can get a reservation for one of these tasting nights, don't hesitate.

When you enter, you're amazed at the selection of different cheeses, chips, crackers, etc. etc. I was tempted to buy them all, but showed wise restraint. After like 5-10 minutes, the grilled cheese was ready to takeout. I ordered the classic with spicy honey. It was solid, though I was a bit surprised with the bread chosen because I've always been used to seeing super thick and chewy. However, the benefit of that is that it becomes super yummy without feeling super heavy. I was thoroughly impressed. At just under $10, it's a pretty solid deal.

What is going on here?…read more I ordered the First Avenue sandwich -- a cheesesteak with bacon and sautéed onions -- and it was an absolute salt bomb. Not "well-seasoned." Not "bold." Just aggressively, overwhelmingly salty. Every bite felt like a dare. Between the bacon and the cheesesteak, it was sodium stacked on sodium with zero balance. I genuinely couldn't finish it after two bites. At that point, it felt like I had just thrown money straight into the trash. The sausage stuffed peppers were decent...thankfully. Not mind-blowing, but at least edible and competently made, which is more than I can say for the sandwich. They saved me from a starving morning. Extremely disappointed. I'm all for flavor, but when the dominant note is "are they trying to preserve this for winter?" something has gone very wrong in the kitchen.

I've been a customer of Rosario's Deli for a long time and used to love their sandwiches, which…read moremakes this especially disappointing. Over the past five months, the quality and portion sizes have steadily declined. The last eight sandwiches I've ordered have consistently had very little meat and barely any toppings. For example, the Patriot sandwich had only about four slices of roast beef. The chicken cutlet sandwiches came with just two small strips of chicken cutlet and very few peppers or other toppings. Each visit seems to have fewer ingredients than the last. I understand that food costs have gone up, but charging the same prices while significantly reducing the portions isn't acceptable. Rosario's used to be one of my favorite delis, but after eight disappointing orders in a row, I can't justify coming back. I hope they return to the quality and generosity that made them so popular in the first place. JenV
