Wow what a cute shop! I came here to get Christmas gifts and the owners/employees were so friendly and encourage us to try as many olive oils/balsamic vinegars as we wanted. Everything was really good but our favorite was the citrus habanero olive oil and the raspberry balsamic vinegar. The chili pepper olive oil and the lemon cucumber balsamic were also really good. They were also very kind and wrapped the gifts and made baskets for us. Definitely the place to go if you're looking for a nice hostess gift or a unique gift. read more

I've only been here in the COVID times. To my understanding they used to have olive oil tastings, which is a shame that COVID put an end to all that :( I purchased some oils as Christmas gifts. They all ended up being a big hit! The staff inside was helpful and willing to answer all my questions. It feels good to support a small business in these unprecedented times when all are struggling. The oil here is only slightly more expensive then your grocery-store high end oil. The only thing I wish was better was their website. I was looking to order online to get it shipped to someone for Christmas and it really wasn't an option unless I wanted it to come in a basic box without a gift note. read more

Wonderful little selection and very friendly owners/employees helped me hike I was there. The flavored oils and balsamic glazes were delicious. Went back for the habanero citrus that was out of stock when I stopped in the first time. That's was Worth going back for, as it had a nice light spice with strong citrus tones. In front of the shop is an adorable bench that says Olive That and more! I walked into the shop and suddenly thought I was transported into a wine tasting room in the Napa Valley. There are numerous sampling bottles lined up on tables. These bottles are filled with flavored balsamic vinegars and olive oils (not wine) for taste testing. I came at the end of the day. The owner Steve told me that they normally have bread to do taste testing but ran out. Anyway, they have miniature size paper cups to try out the different vinegars and Olive oils. It was really interesting taste testing the different olive oils and balsamic vinegars. Reminded me of taste testing in a winery. Of course,without the after effects. LOL! I purchased a 60 ml. sampler size of "25 Star balsamic vinegar". This item was $6.95. This was a very nice tasting balsamic vinegar. Neither too sweet nor too strong. Just right. You can use this flavor with many types of food. I used this on strawberries and blueberries when I arrived home. The taste of this balsamic vinegar with the berries was out of this world !!!! I also purchased one bag of wheat baguettes for $7.95. These wheat baguettes are very petite like 1 inch long. These petite baguettes are great for dipping into the balsamic vinegar or olive oil. Of course I tried the baguettes with the balsamic vinegar when I got home. They were scrumptious! The shop does sell gift samplers of olive oils and balsamic vinegars. Olive wood type containers are available for sale. Also, the shop sells different types of interesting salts like Himalayan salt. This shop is definitely a fun place to try out. read more

OTM... wow it has been the catalyst of creativity for this home cook. The olive oils and balsamic vinegars are clean, potent and flavorful. Being a novice I was pleasantly surprised to find these products are not only wonderful for finishing, but also excellent while cooking your dish. The owner and resident OO guru let me know this was not a fluke or a secret I discovered, it is widely known when you have a great product it is always versatile. Don't hold onto the liquid magic for a special meal, use it often make it part of the ingrediants, not just an accent. One of my greatest finds was a store package fruit medley. It was really tart and definitely on its way to the trash. I put a little of the Fig Balsmic on the fruit, and put the fruit in the toaster oven for three minutes. Awesomeness achieved! read more

My new favorite place!!!! Please, go visit this store - you will not regret it! Unless you spend a lot of money, then maybe you will, but once you get home and start eating what you bought you definitely will not regret it! My girlfriend came here recently and told me about it immediately. I came with her not even 5 days later. I plan to return shortly with my fiance in tow because I know he will be in heaven as well. They have bread around the store so you can try all the olive oils and balsamic vinegars that your heart desires. They are all so flavorful and fantastic! I ended up purchasing the white truffle and the laconiko garlic olive oils, the fig balsamic vinegar, and truffle infused taglioni pasta! You can see all the specks of truffle and I cannot wait to make it and toss it with my new white truffle olive oil and some grated cheese. They even have flavored salts!! I tried the chipotle and it was delicious. My girlfriend purchased their sundried tomato, parmesan and garlic olive oil. You can taste each of the flavors and I think I have to go back to purchase it as well. It is like nothing I've had before. This store is really beautiful and they have so many great and nifty products. All of the wood in the store is from olive trees and it is so unique. Well this place is just wonderful! First off the olive oils are fantastic. They have an awesome selection of flavors like Basil (so good), Sun-Dried Tomato Parmesan, Rosemary, etc! They also have some amazing Balsamic Vinegars. A lot of people were digging the White Peach, but I enjoyed the traditional one the most. In addition to the amazing oils and vinegars - they sell flavored salts and kitchen gadgets. The atmosphere is really cool and the shop is the perfect size. An olive oil shop is such a great store for a town like Montclair. These are the types of shops that attract people to the lovely town of Montclair. We have come to love this store -- and depend on it to spice up our home cooking. My favorite is the tangerine olive oil -- but I'm amazed at all the wonderful flavors -- they owners have gotten me experimenting with different combinations of oils and balsamic vinegars -- it has actually become fun to mix and match -- and the great thing is you can get the small bottles and try them -- before you invest a large bottle (and they let you sample). What a shame...drove 20 min to try olive oil and vinegar at this spot and got there around 5:15- 45 min before closing. The man at the register seemed standoffish from the moment we walked in. There was no bread to taste anything (that we were too late) and he said they were all out, was short in answering questions about the products, and when we asked to purchase a sample of one of the oils, he said they are all out because the remaining bottles were used in the gift baskets being displayed. Walked out disappointed and won't be returning. Going to order from We olive cafe in CA...they have a website...much better service and had a broader selection anyway. read more

I passed by Olive That and More during Upper Montclair's Sidewalk sale and didn't really understand the need for a store just for olive oil but now I get why!!! The owner is super nice and after explaining to him that me and my boyfriend's spiciness preference is on an EXTREME level, he recommended trying the Citrus Habanero. I think having samples in the store is a great idea because THE CITRUS HABANERO IS THE BOMB DOT COM. I can't imagine using any other kind of olive oil. read more

I am usually not the sample person, but when we walked in, the staff was soooo inviting, and helpful that I tried just about every oil/vinegar they have. Thank you, Yelp peeps, for the category email a few weeks back, which turned me on to this place! What a GREAT find!! I could have spent so much more money there, but I held back (for now!) LOVE the samples - every olive oil and vinegar has a sample to try and the flavors that I thought wouldn't taste good, will be purchased on my next trip! (blueberry, lemon, etc...) - Looks like I will be doing some Thanksgiving and Christmas shopping there! Small Business Saturday really worked for me that day!!! I will definitely be going back to Olive That and spending a ton more money for some fabulous oils and vinegars! (they also have flavored salts, and some other gourmet items - we just went for the o&v - I make 5 salads every Sunday night for my weekly lunches, and was getting bored with plain ol' store bought vinegar and cheap olive oil (no matter what I was buying prior to Olive That, they were starting to all taste rancid) - but with the different flavors of both condiments, I think I'll have some wonderful concoctions for my previously boring salads (bought the white balsamic vinegar and rosemary olive oil for now - what a GREAT combination! I entered Olive This & That on a bright summer day and entered a darkish room full of beautiful wooden bowls and canisters of various olive oils. I bought Nuovo from Greece -- it's their first pressing and has a slightly grassy taste. I wound up using it almost daily and was out within 6 weeks. I just went back and bought two more, as they only have a limited supply and won't get more till maybe March, when they do the first pressing again. Since summer and tomato sandwiches go hand-in-hand for me, I used it every day on a tomato sandwich! Drizzled over sliced tomatoes, dill and lettuce, it added a special texture AND taste. Absolutely delicious! When I went back to replace, I also purchased the Greek Lemon Olive Oil, which I tried over pasta, with salt, pepper and grated Parmesan Reggiano. Yum! Simple food with delicious ingredients always hits the spot for me and I'm so happy to have discovered this shop in Upper Montclair. An experience each time! read more
