This is our go-to mini donut spot. The people who work here are the sweetest. They always have a great attitude and they give you a donut to munch on while you wait for your order (which my young child loves). They also have a donut machine so you can watch the donuts being fried to order! My son also loves seeing that. They make any sized box in increments of 3 (e.g. 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, etc.) even though the menu is missing a couple of those sizes. The 9 would be perfect for my family if the kids didn't just eat the tops off and leave the rest (monsters). 12 is if we're feeling up to the challenge. My husband loves the s'mores one, my son changes his mind daily. I like the churro one over the plain cinnamon sugar one, because it has an extra glaze. There's not much else at this plaza so parking is plentiful and there's a good stream of people walking in and out on Sunday mornings (which is usually when we go). I love the brightness of the place and if my kids do want to eat there, we never have any issues getting a spot at the counter. It seems like almost everyone else grabs it to go. They also have coffee, which goes perfectly with the donuts. Future Christina, don't get a flavoring, it was too sweet. Next time I'll just get an iced latte (the time we went, there was oat milk even though it's not on the menu.)

Friendly? Check. Good tasting? Check. Relatively fast? Check. My first visit to Van Dough won't be my last. While workers prepared my 16 mini donuts, they gave me one to eat. Nice. My family enjoyed these sweet treats at home. I think this place has the right combination of taste and ambiance. I dare anyone to eat just one.

Hot, made to order donuts?! Yes, please! If you're in the area, Van Dough is a MUST. We came in on a Tuesday morning, and there was no line. We ordered a pack of 6 mini donuts for about $6. Since they do make each order, be prepared to wait a little bit...this is no Dunkin Donuts! Each donut we received was hot and fresh. Every flavor we tried was amazing, and their toppings were all just the right amount of sweetness. We easily went through all 6 as soon as we got to the car, and we easily could have gone through 6+ more! My favorites: NY cheesecake and Boston crème pie. But all the flavors I tried were a 5/5. The service was also outstanding, and we were greeted so warmly as soon as we walked in. The sweetest staff ever! I cannot wait to come back and try the rest of their flavors. Don't order anything less than a 6 pack, trust me!! You'll regret it & want more :)

I was excited to come here after reading about the fresh donuts in all kinds of fun flavors. It was worth the beautiful morning drive to get here at 0800 opening on a Saturday morning. I went right at opening thinking the place would be crazy packed, but surprisingly it wasn't during the time I was there. I believe their menu might change a bit with the seasons but don't quote me on that. I just thought I saw/read they had Christmas selections out but don't recall any flavors being particularly for Christmas. Maybe I overlooked it or misunderstood. But either way, so happy with the flavors and quality and friendly service too!!

I had a great experience with them. They worked with me on the creation of this cool donut cone cake for a birthday party. It turned out amazing and they were the perfect size so kids don't get an overload of sugar and the price was just right as well! I highly recommend. Family owned business, great and friendly.

The BEST mini donuts in Tampa Bay! I said what I said!! My friend sent me a box of Van Dough donuts for my birthday. There was an assortment of their menu flavors: birthday cake, Boston creme, churro, Bacon Me Crazy (maple glaze with bacon bits), Smores, and PB crunch. The donuts are dense but not dry. The flavors are delicious and not overly sweet. And since they're all mini, you don't have to feel guilty after you eat a half a box by yourself! Van Dough also orders custom donuts for special celebrations. Follow their social media to see what designs they offer for holidays. For Father's Day, I ordered the special box and my husband was excited for the unique flavors that day. The shop itself is located in the Winn Dixie plaza. There is plenty of parking in the plaza lot. The shop is usually busy in the morning, but the staff brings out orders quickly. There are 25 flavors on the menu, so I suggest browsing the menu before you go to the cashier. Van Dough has a perfect Yelp rating and for good reason: these mini donuts pack BIG flavor! One of our traditions when we go on vacation, is to find the best donut shop in town. This one definitely fits the bill. Possibly the best donuts I have ever had. I particularly love the fact that they were MINI donuts...more donuts, less guilt haha! The establishment was extremely clean, and very welcoming. The menu was very easy to read with the description and picture of each flavor. Hubby and I ordered the 6 pack and as we waited, the very gal gave us 2 "samplers" JUST MADE, so HOT! Oh my! The donuts were super delicious and with so many unique flavors. I have nothing bad to say about this place!! HIGHLY recommend!

Busy little place! I stopped in to check this place out and was happily greeted by Hellos by multiple staff members and what you could assume are smiles behind their masks. LOL. When I walked up to order, I was asked if I had been there before and then explained the ordering sizes and that they have a 9 and a 12 box that wasn't listed. I went with the 12. I have had mini donuts before just not Van Dough so thought the 12 pack was the perfect size to try out several options. They also gave me a donut to sample while I ordered which was the strawberry Iced Iced Baby, it was so fresh and hot, I couldn't wait to walk away to be able to eat it. They make the donuts to order so I stood there for a little while they made the orders ahead of mine and mine and listened to each person that came in while I was there when asked if they had been there before. All of them said No and that they would be back and that they couldn't believe they never knew the place was there. Good for them!!! That kinda stuff actually makes me happy to hear for a small business. I know when I got home with the donuts and presented them to Ben and reviewed their other options that I didn't pick that I got "why didn't you get that one?!" comments, so guess that means he liked them and we will be back!

There donuts are pretty good. They have several different varities to choose from so you are bound to find one you like. I think the best one they have though is the "classic". This one is so simple yet so good. They actually gave it to me for free while I waited for them to complete my order. The customer service here was great. I arrived right at closing time but they were in no rush to leave. I was able to get a good look at the menu and with their guidance I picked out the New York cheesecake, the smores, and the sweet piggy donuts with bacon on top. They weren't my favorite but they were definitely still good. I would definitely return here for the service and to get a classic donut! read more

Lovely snack shop with coffee ice cream and made to order mini donuts. Selection was nice staff was lovely and very accommodating even gave me one to taste. Why not five stars?? Six mini donuts were $5.97 and while they were nice I don't feel they are worth $1 a donut. Seems great for kids the right size and they can choose what they like and watch them being made. read more

This place is amazing. I ordered the Super Bowl donuts and I was not disappointed. They were the hit of the party. Great, friendly service. Donuts were absolutely delicious and beautifully decorated. My fiancé and I love exploring doughnut and dessert places. We were so excited to find a place with fresh made to order doughnuts. The place truly lived up to the hype. They were absolutely delicious. We had the Sweet Piggy, Mint Chocolate, NY Cheesecake, Boston Creme, Reese's, Rice Crispy Treat, and Churro. I had been wanting to try this place for the longest and I finally stopped in over the weekend. Let's just say this might become a regular pit stop now and that won't be good for my waistline! Upon entering, I was very pleased to see how clean the restaurant was and was welcomed by a patient and friendly cashier. I ordered a customized 6-pk (Reese's Cup, Homer, Glaze, Apple Pie, Bedrock, and Rice Krispy Treat) to go. My ordered was filled accurately and very quickly. The employee had me visually inspect my order before closing the box. As I picked up the box from the counter, ::dun dun dun:: the box was HOT underneath! DID I JUST GET HOT DONUTS!?! The executive decision was made, these donuts can't wait until I get home. I went in for the kill and had 2 before I left the parking lot. The donut itself had a good consistency and cake-y taste. It wasn't too sweet to overpower the toppings and was exactly what you needed to pair with your cup of Joe in the morning. Of the flavors I bought, I would 100% repurchase the Apple Pie, Reese's Cup, and Homer. If you haven't gone to Van Dough yet, what are you waiting for??? read more

Went here with the whole family (4 and 8 YO). We were happy to see Hersey's ice cream in addition to the mini donuts. We ordered the six pack and got to watch them make the donuts from beginning to end. Kiddos and us loved the experience and the tasty ending. Hubs got a chocolate milkshake and it was also delicious. We'll be back! We were thinking it may be need to do these instead of cupcakes for our son's upcoming birthday. read more

One of the best doughnuts I've ever had. Little bit crunch on the outside and soft on the inside. I love these donuts and have been there a couple of times, and was never disappointed. The owner and staff were very friendly and very inviting, and personable. I had a lot to choose from so the first time I bought almost every flavor. But my own personal favorite is the butterfinger, current special, cookies and cream, glazed, and just plain donut (I like the plain taste of van dough). You can't go wrong with any flavor. I took my daughter here for a fun "mom daughter day" treat. This was our first visit. They have a selection of about 20 different mini specialty donuts to choose from. You can choose 3,6 or larger quantities. We shared the box of 6 and tried the snickers, snickerdoodle, m&m and mint chocolate chip. They were tasty enough but nothing out of this world and a bit over priced at $1/piece for a literal bit sized donut. read more

Disrespectful. Drove 30 minutes out of my way to have my first experience at this establishment and asked if the 36 donuts could be split into two boxes. Was told no, it comes in one box. As I waited ten minutes for my order, they split my order in two boxes, but than they ran out of donuts for my order, because they gave 25 donuts to the customer who ordered after me. Was informed my 11 remaining will take time cause they had to make more. My order should come first, I should have received all of my order, And the customer after me should have waited. Took 15 minutes for my 11 additional items. I made an effort to drive out of my way, to be only be disappointed in the level of service provided. read more

DELICIOUS mini donuts and very friendly staff. We walked in 10-15 mins before closing. They said they usually have donuts left but that someone bought them out right before we came in. They offered to start up the machines and make us a new batch anyway, even though it would take them half an hour. WE'RE VERY APPRECIATIVE! read more

I am so glad there is a mini donut place on this side of the bay! They have a wide variety of donuts for kids and adults. There coffee is good too- I had a cold brew with soy. The place is clean. You can watch the staff make your donuts and the donut robot. We were bummed that the donut robot wasn't running the day we were there. They have one round table outside, but only offer bar seating on the inside. Great place and easy to get to off of McMullen. read more

These little minis were fresh and loaded with amazing flavors. Being mini, makes you able to try more flavors. We had a 6 pack shared between the two of us. They were equally as savory as they were sweet. The dough itself just melts in your mouth. Highly recommended! read more

Okay--where to begin? Small space in a strip mall that could easily be found on a trendy street in San Fran or side avenue in NYC. Warm mini doughnuts waiting to be painted into a masterpiece of flavors. Every carefully calculated combination of tastes your buds wouldn't expect. I still like their beer, but I don't see another good reason to visit this place in person again. The old owner still comes in the morning to provide fresh baked 'To Go' treats for the new owners to sell. Ancient family recipes passed down made for unique flavors and textures. The menu has something from every region around the med. So you can't go wrong. Abdul and 'Z' run the restaurant and kitchen like a well tuned clock. As soon as All-Star Elite Dave W. And I were seated we were brought complimentary Black Tea with several floating fresh mint leaves. Delicious. Z invited me back into the kitchen to see the new brick oven they have installed. Both Dave and I opted for water with our meal and were delighted to be served bottled water (No charge with a meal, $1 on its own). I ordered the Gyros Plate ($16.50). It bent in half when he tried to. Abdul took our recommendation of providing real silverware to heart and made a note. I have no doubt that on my next visit I'll see real silverware. The napkins were also the thinnest and least expensive available. I used about 20 or 30 of them. Upgrading the napkins to better quality will probably save them money in the long run because people will end up using less. Abdul was appreciative of our constructive criticism and I believe he will follow our recommendations. Next visit will definitely be five stars.
