Look at that cathedral! Gods magic at work at the Van Dickson Ranch.

When our daughter choose the venue in Prescott for her wedding reception we liked it well enough for the reception but simply could not see our daughter getting married on a stage. Her father said his cathedral was in nature! Van Dickson ranch could not have been more perfect We decided to pay for both venues. Van Dickson Ranch is an all inclusive venue but we had our own cater selected and liked the idea of being in town for the party. So we choose both locations. Carolyn was most helpful in arranging shuttles and a limo. She provided the perfect ceremony location and a cute house for the groomsmen to hang out in. She sent us photos from time to time. She was helpful in offering options for chair and bench set up. The day of could not have been smoother. The two gentleman with carts were also super helpful with guests. And anything we needed. The longhorns even chimed in with a moo or two as the couple said I do!

Had such a beautiful wedding here. Bridal room was amazing to get ready in and the ranch was absolutely stunning. Had some issues like the mens room. The shower smelt like rotten eggs and the water never got warm for the boys to take a shower in. It was time for me to go down the aisle and one of the cowboys almost took me too early and my husband almost saw me before I walked down. Amazing ceremony took pictures then went to the reception. Food was outstanding! Power went out about 3 times at the reception for about 5 minutes each time. Had conflict with the bartender Coreen van Orden. We had to use her because Carolyn had issues in the past with other bartenders. From the moment I had to talk with Coreen she was nothing but negative. Complaining about champagne flutes, beer kegs, and cups. I made her job very easy with just having to pour off the daiquiri machine and kegs. No mixed drinks or anything and she still complained. We had rented some daiquiri machines that Coreen knew about! It got all set up and before Coreen plugged it in she poured all the concentrate and alcohol and then plugged it in and it didn't work. She didn't mention to the venue that they would need the generator to run them. So we gave her all the alcohol we had with us to make us mixed drinks to let the show go on. She was utterly rude to all of my guests that walked up. She rolled her eyes at everyone and had this mean look on her face all night long. The moment I came up (bride) she started spilling out everything that was going wrong. It is very unprofessional to do that to a bride on her wedding day. We also asked Coreen to not put up a tip jar since we will be tipping her 20% at the end of the night. We wanted our honeymoon fund up there and there was no point in putting up a tip jar if we were paying her to serve our guests with a tip on top of the total. Not only that but she was arguing with my mom before the ceremony. Completely unprofessional! I really hope Van Dickson finds a new bartender to work with because she was completely rude to everyone. I have asked for some refund from her since she ruined $300 to $400 worth of concentrate and alcohol, she hasn't responded. This venue was a hidden little gem but there was definitely some issues. Carolyn is absolutely amazing to work with as well as her husband.

They offered to meet with me on the phone to get a general understanding of my vision, and help direct us. From there, they shared what prior clients rented/set up at our venue! On the day of our event, the set up was exceptionally smooth. Their staff were happy/excited/cheerful- setting the mood for the whole day! They helped explain how to use things (cotton candy machine, popcorn machine, AV system, ect). And they were very efficient in tear down afterwards. Everything worked without a hitch! I would 100% recommend them.

We utilized Weddings in Sedona because we were living in Maryland and getting married in Sedona…read more Every single person I worked with was amazing. I worked with Susan (the owner) and she truly went above and beyond for us. She helped us plan the day out, find a car service (take care of setting up the car service) and making sure we had everything we needed (and a back-up weather emergency pan as well). Truly, I felt like we were friends of Susan's for how well she took care of us. Given life happens, we ended up being court-house married in Maryland before our planned wedding a few months later and Susan was our officiant. She did a beautiful job and we loved having her a part of our day and helping make it so amazing and STRESS-FREE. The cost was more than reasonable for the area for the officiant service, car service and other services that were available.

I want to start off by saying that I had a fantastic wedding and I will always remember my wedding…read moreday fondly. I think these memories are largely due to a few different factors, some of which I can attribute to Revered Andrew and his team at Heart of Sedona Weddings, but the most memorable part of the day was saying my vows to my beautiful wife! She is what made the day so special and memorable. I have mixed feelings about Heart of Sedona Weddings which I will explain below, but based on my experience with Reverend Andrew and his team, I would still cautiously recommend their services to anyone desiring to elope in beautiful Sedona. You may want to look into other options as well. Reverend Andrew is very involved in the planning process, from the initial consultation all the way to the big event. During my initial phone consultation with him he was very friendly and informative about how the wedding ceremony would work. His pricing is upfront and reasonable for what you get, as he offers several all-inclusive packages designed to meet your needs. I liked that Reverend Andrew took his time with us over the phone and explained everything in detail. He was clear about how the planning process worked and told us exactly what we needed to know in order to have a successful elopement in Sedona. He was personable and gave us excellent recommendations for bridal hair and makeup, restaurants, and cakes. He made the planning process less stressful than it should have been. Although I have yet to see the wedding photos, his photographer Andrew Holman was excellent in the way he treated us and he made us feel like celebrities with all the really cool poses around the scenic red rock background. I am quite confident from the quality of the photos he took on my phone that the actual wedding photos will be spectacular. In this respect, Revered Andrew made a great decision to have Andrew as our photographer. Couldn't be happier with him. Another nice gesture of Reverend Andrew was him personally picking up my then fiance at her makeup salon so I would not see her prior to the wedding. His flexibility and willingness to do this were very much appreciated and made the wedding that much more special to me and my bride. Despite all of the amazing memories, there are some areas in which I felt Reverend Andrew fell short, which I will detail here. Reverend Andrew was easy to get ahold of the first two times I spoke to him, but after that, it was nearly impossible to reach him over the phone and he would sometimes take several days to get back to me, even when I had a simple question. When I replied to one of his emails regarding details of our ceremony, he never received it, only to find it later while I was telling him over the phone that I sent it. I got the feeling that he was overbooked and more focused on quantity than quality, a feeling that would later be confirmed during the ceremony itself. On the day of the wedding, on our way into the private golf course, Reverend Andrew ran into an issue at the security gate where they were asking him to pay a fee to enter. Waiting in my car for fifteen minutes while he sorted out the details and argued with the security guard over paying the fee was not a good way to set the mood. While the security guard was being rude, I did not feel that Andrew making a big deal out of the fees was very professional and he should have dealt with the guard later on instead of venting about him on our wedding day. Another issue was that during the ceremony itself, Andrew was reading off sheets of laminated paper and did not seem emotionally invested in our ceremony. It was more of a vibe he gave off, but he was reading very quickly and seemed like he was in a rush to get this thing over with and get out of there. Not exactly the vibe I was going for on my wedding day. I am still a little pissed about that. And then, once our ceremony was over, he hurriedly and awkwardly left, not giving my new wife time to get all of her belongings out of the car. That just rubbed me the wrong way, but thanks to the kindness and patience of his photographer, we continued to have a great time taking photos. The wedding cake had almonds in it despite me asking for there not to be. Oversights like these on my wedding day were unacceptable. I think Reverend Andrew is good at what he does, but I did not feel that his heart was quite there with us on our big day and I felt he was a little careless with small, but important details. If I were to renew my vows in Sedona, I would have second thoughts about going with him again for these reasons.

We found similar wedding services to Heart of Sedona Weddings, but from our initial phone inquiry, Andrew was enthusiastic and open to answering many questions about his services and going through a list of easily accessible locations for our family to get to. We ended up deciding on getting married on Bell Rock, off of the Courthouse Vista parking lot (beautiful views). We were in continuous communication with Andrew in the months leading up to our Wedding. We met with Andrew in Sedona a few months prior to the wedding to go over all the details of the ceremony and for him to get to know us more as a couple. We then went with Andrew to our wedding location. Andrew showed us the best spot for the ceremony. He also showed us where and how he would position us and our family. Andrew sent us packets of wedding ceremony information. We went through and picked the stuff we liked and also added some verses that we liked. Andrew made this part very easy. After we told him the pieces that we liked and the verses that we wanted, he took it from there and made a beautiful and fluent ceremony. We would highly recommend Andrew and Heart of Sedona Weddings! Thank you, Andrew!

Wedding planning in general is difficult, even if there's a whole year to plan, but it's even far more difficult when you only have one month to do so. Tasha made sure everything went smoothly. Her problem-solving skills are off the charts. She is able to adjust herself to her clients way immediately, and she is so sharp in knowing within a few days what her clients truly want. She is so respectful and understanding of different cultures. One of the most important things to us was being able to communicate with her and get a response immediately especially because we had such a short time to plan the wedding and tasha was always available. Her optimism was extremely calming in difficult situations. Even two months after the wedding was over. When she learned we had trouble with one of the vendors she intervened, and once again, was able to solve the problem with her amazing optimism and action taking abilities tasha truly cares about her clients and definitely makes you feel she's a part of your family holding your hands through the whole process and beyond. I highly recommend Tasha and I'm a very picky mother if the bride who seeks perfection and a bit hard to work with because of that and even with that Tasha scored 100%!

Located just outside Prescott, JWR boasts acres of beautiful countryside with accommodation types ranging from quaint, but fully equipped cabins, to more adventurous options, like a yurt and a safari tent. Guests can bring their own food, or plan to drive back to Prescott for meals (definitely not as convenient!). Plenty of linens and blankets are provided. Guests staying in the adventurous accommodations can use the 2 half bathrooms (sink and toilet) in the office building; there is also one full bathroom with a gorgeous shower in the new "Santa Fe" building. My women's retreat took over the entire property both times I visited and it was great fun to visit with the animals (horses, goats, cats, peacock!) and enjoy nature. I have stayed in a teepee and the safari tent, appropriately named the "Hemingway." The safari tent boasts a king size, 4 poster bed which was really comfortable! JWR is available for weddings, retreats, and other large events, as well as for solo guests/families, space permitting.
