LOVE, LOVE, LOVE wish I could give 5+ The hubby and I get away from our friends and family for Thanksgiving every year for the last 5 years and love it.....I know.......but try it......you will like it too. Leave all the drama, work, stress, kids (JK) behind, this place has it all........ and a LARGE amount of nothing. Peace and quiet, majestic mountains a nice train track that only passes by a couple times, just enough to crush a few penny's, hiking trails, sunny spots and More than I can say. The cell and internet is spotty unless you go to the main office (that is if you or your kids phones are physically attached.) We are only there about 1 hour before we forget we live in a 3 million plus metroplex with NEWS always on. The grounds are so spread out you don't see or hear your neighbors. This last time we stayed their was a couple with their children that checked out after one day because they did not have cell phone coverage, a TV and were not in driving distance to the Walmart in Prescott. UHMMMMMMMM what part of........W. Tough Country Trail .......did they miss. This is dirt road folks and is just off the highway only 25 min from downtown Prescott. We were glad to see them flatlanders leave! If splendid isolation is not your thing....this is not a good fit. I manage every year to have a feast for Thanksgiving with all the left overs! A few things are brought up ahead of time, but I make a mean crock pot beer turkey and mashed potatoes that day and it is tasty! Prices are not expensive......however.....this is not a KOA. I would say it is an Exceptional value for what you get. Peace of mind and spirit PRICELESS! The staff is wonderful and leave you to yourself unless you need anything, then you hear the buzz of work cart with towels, or more wood for the fireplace, they go above and beyond. WE LOVE the people and Juniper Well Ranch.

The ranch is remote and cell service is generally not available in the area which actually makes this city escape even better!

From the planning to the rehearsal to the day we arrived at the event Tony and his crew could not have been more accomodating. Stephanie, the on-site coordinator, undeniably loves her job and it shows! She was so helpful and always there to answer any questions we had. We had an unfortunate debacle with the florist we hired and without hesitation Stephanie jumped into action the day of the wedding making suggestions, offering solutions, and providing support. Because of her my daughter had fresh flowers on her cake which would have otherwise been naked due to the florist's mistakes. She truly went above and beyond for us! Our daughter and her fiance chose the taco bar buffet menu. I have to tell you I was not thrilled with their choice before the event but after seeing the quantities provided, the amount of fresh toppings, and tasting everything I was very pleased! Our guests could not stop commenting how great the food was! The room change over from buffet to dancing went really smoothly and we hardly noticed it was happening. Their wait staff was constantly clearing tables and tidying up and Stephanie kept everything moving according to our schedule. The bartender was lovely made great drink suggestions and made great cocktails! And what can you say about the venue itself? It was my daughter's first and only choice for her wedding after visiting the property. The scenery and landscaping are amazing, there is not one bad place to take a photo! Our experience was truly amazing and I want to thank The Windmill House for making my daughter's wedding a wonderfully memorable event for all the right reasons!

So glad we chose the Hat Ranch, as it suits our outdoor style to a "T". The directions in were very easy to follow, and our Toyota Tacoma picked up a beautiful red patina of Arizona dust. Sharon, our host, greeted us at the main house and then escorted us to our quarters. As this was our first time here, she took extra time explaining all about our stay, which included a home cooked breakfast today. You can Google the Historic Hat Ranch for all the cool details, but suffice to say there are some very presidentially mended fences here on the expansive 2,800 acres. Our room was very nice, twin beds and a nicely appointed bathroom. Also a spacious deck to view the open Ranch space. We opened the windows and breathed in the fresh air...scented with juniper and noble fir trees right out our door. We didn't see any, but Sharon told us Elk frequented the area often. Many other wild creatures to see too, including javelinas. The baby colt on the way in made my wife's day, and he quickly posed for some pictures and romped away. This has been a perfect cherry on the top of our anniversary Sunday. If you love the outdoors and crave a rustic Ranch experience with warm hospitality, the Hat Ranch is the place for you.
