Value Village no longer employs real people to staff their check-outs, so they no longer have me as a customer. They also charge too much for their beat-up 2nd, 3rd, and 4th hand merchandise which they get for FREE, so that's another reason why I no longer go there. Value Village seems to still have lots of customers, so I have no qualms about redirecting any money I might have spent there to other, more worthy recipients. read more

I came here today to drop off some cloths for donations. We had three giant bags. I have donated to Big Brothers in the past and they would come to pick them up. Unfortunately BB no longer offers this service. I have decided to drop it off at Value Village instead. It was really quick. I parked on the side of the store. They push out a giant green bin and you basically throw out all your donations into the bin. They also take kitchenware, small electronics and etc. I didn't go inside the store. But looking from the outside, the store must be huge. I will be back dropping more stuff off for donation. read more

We were systematically ripped off when the policy of "returning" was not explained The cashier said 2 week for a return and when 2 articles of clothing failed to fit, they said exchange only! Value village has a COVID policy that has no change rooms to try clothing and they don't carry multiple sizes of a particular item. We ended up having to pay more to find other shirts. On top of this, I am intersex but female. I wear female clothing, make up, I have breasts and a butt and a feminine voice. The manager (Dhalia) called me "sir" when I got upset about the exchange policy and had no respect for people of diverse gender. This was after the store employee described the situation to her (referring to me as her) and after the heat ramped up. Was no accident, it was a discriminatory attack. When it comes to finding a deal, I have all the patience in the world. And you'll need it here because this Value Village is HUGE! Aisles and aisles and racks upon racks of donated clothing, homegoods, shoes, bags, etc... Every area is labelled with big signs so you'll know where to go and the aisles are double cart wide so plenty of space to sneak past fellow shoppers. The store is quite clean and organized but there is the occasional misplaced item (probably from other shoppers). My hustle is to shift through each item in my size category and one up in case things are misplaced and/or sizes can differ greatly. I do find this location compared to the Richmond location will occasionally mark up an item if it's branded. For example, at the Richmond location I was able to find an Aritzia Wilfred t-shirt for $3.49 and a very similar Aritzia Wilfred t-shirt at the Newton location was $9.49. Regardless, if you have a keen eye and know your brands and quality, you can definitely find some good deals here. I found an Aritzia blazer for $15, shortalls for $5.49, shorts for $5.49, and a pretty white lace dress for $6.49! If you're into DIY, you can spruce up some "unwanted" items and turn them into items of envy. I bought an ugly barney purple baroque picture frame for $5 and I'll be painting it white to make it shabby chic, which would easily cost $15 elsewhere. If you have the time and patience, lots of good finds and inspiration here - from clothing to accessories to furniture to cooking to decor to toys to knick knacks of all sorts. Washrooms are in the back, next to the change rooms. Plenty of parking in this area as well. Staff were really nice when I visited. Overall, very happy with this Value Village. read more

I picked out a pair of boots that were around 5.00 as I am on a strict budget and when I got up to the till the cashier was unpleasant and walked off, returning a few minutes later with a new price tag saying $15.00. (let me remind you that these are used boots/other peoples feet have been in them for a long period of time until replaced with new boots) I was not impressed and left not buying the boots; the said item was not wiped off at all, still covered in mud from previous owner. verry smelly thums down read more

I went to Value Village in Newton (King George Blvd, Surrey) this evening, and came out with so many amazing outfits. They were priced anywhere from $5-$3 each. And when I say, those are some great prices, I don't exaggerate! The prices there were quite affordable, and reasonable, and were in great condition! I even had a $5 off coupon for spending over $20. I didn't know I had this until it was told to me. Thank you the VV cashier whom pointed it out to me so I took advantage of it tonight. People talk about prices being high and being expensive and overpriced etc should reconsider. And look harder or more consistent in their searches. A treasure awaits the treasure bargain hunter. I'll continue shopping at this location. I really love the new layout. I like how the change rooms are at the back of the store near the bathrooms. It makes it easier for customers like me who can take her young daughter to easier. The store looks wider and refreshing and much more organized and mainly cleaner. read more

This Value Village is incredible! Great prices, great selection and the staff is very courteous and friendly. I am an avid thrifter and this store is by far my favourite place to shop. They almost always have what I am looking for. I left there today with an outfit for a job interview tomorrow. Including shoes, shirt, skirt and blazer, the whole ensemble was just under $30.00. I bought a trunk from there today, and went back to pick it up a few hours later. Had to wait over 20 minutes for them to "find it". Only to be told they sold it to someone else that had taken the "sold" sticker off the item that was left on the sales floor. They kept apologizing and gave me a 30% off sticker and my money back. Their policy is to take items in the back once they are sold, yet it wasn't done. I am never shopping here again. They lost a solid customer of 10 years. read more

This place is HUGE. I love it, they're always bringing in new stock and i can honestly spend a few hours atleast searching the endless racks and shelves. A little steep on pricing on some items though. And they're very scattered when it comes to pricing stuff. I've found something for $5 then a week later almost the exact same thing is priced at $20. Or for instance a jacket with stains and a broken zipper priced at $20 and a jacket of a better brand priced at only $8. Would still highly recommend anyone to visit this store though.
