Langley is kinda odd, as it seems to have an awful lot of thrift / second hand stores in a close proximity.
I was visiting for a few days, so while checking out other stores, shops and boutiques in the area, I figured may as well check this place out as well.
I had never heard of this place before.
I thought the name referred to the city of Mission, but actually it used to be called "Bibles for Missions".... so I guess that's where the money went to ? Not sure if that's the case these days?
So the store is rather large. It's also clean, and well lit. Lots of staff, mostly older ladies, however none of them came off as overly friendly.
There were many signs, warning not to steal ! And something to the effect of reserving the right to bag check - no worries, but it seemed a bit aggressive.
So the prices were really low, like to what you would hope to pay at a second hand store ( unlike some that price items higher then if you were to pay retail! )
Unfortunately, the problem seemed to be a lack of stock throughout. Nothing seemed to catch my eye, and when most of the fun is seeing what you can find, fun is short lived when there isn't a lot to check out.
As I always am looking for books to add to my collection, and they did have a good selection.
Also, they had a piano and someone took the opportunity to play, so they had some impromptu entertainment that day !
I would probably come check it out again, hopefully they have more to chose from. read more
