I really love getting things here, it's excellent for getting cheaper toys for my pets that are inevitably just going to be destroyed anyways. I also ADORE the days they have sales. The St. Catharines Value Village is my home away from home. Well technically it's down the street from my parent's house, so really it's my home down the street from my home away from home, but you get the idea. I'm just going to go ahead and throw this out there, it's the best Value Village in the entire Niagara Region, there, I said it. It really is amazing though, they seem to have everything from books, dishes, paintings, shoes, board games, furniture, and most importantly, clothes that fit me. I'd say at least 80% of my wardrobe came from here. Wait... is that a sad thing to list? Nah. Right off the highway too! I have donated and shopped at value villiage for years. I will never ever donate again. I bought a pair of roller blades for my son and knew/elbow pads. When we brought them home my son tried them on and all the blades crumbled. I went to return them and I had the receipt, she would not accept them because I didn't have the price tag. The fat lady was rude, rude, rude, I think she was the manager. To have no customer service, common curtesy and saying well how do i know you bought them here? I had the frigen receipt. All my donations and shopping will go to Goodwill....they actually do good with the money they get. Rude rude rude!!!!!!!!!! God knows and He will get the last say. So I don't need to care about it. I donated a very unique Harley Davidson purse here. A week or so later it was being sold on a Facebook Buy and Sell group. Either this person bought it there (she said she didn't) and is selling it for a profit, or she works there and stole it to sell privately. I will not donate here ever again! read more

Value village located 360 Ontario Street, St. Catharines is a pleasant shopping experience where I am so grateful to be part of the side of society that celebrates the use of upcycling and repurposing of a persons successes and use of their disposable income...much credit should be given to the expertise of the staff involved in the impeccable display of organization thru out by means of categorizing the stores entire facility! The attention to detail is impressive! I understand complaints of increased pricing seems to be the consensus despite the blatantl obvious hard work that is done into what it takes to run such an organization as Goodwill whose responsibilities do not end helping the community with the turning of a key and flipping of an open sign to "sorry were closed". Anywhere in the layout of the large boring white wall, gym style tile floor and look of a badly designed swap meet ...could you go in and not discover an knowledgeable friendly employee who could not direct you to where the item you seek would be located, clean, in great shape, nicely displayed on ugly racks but and for half where you'd get anywhere else...to top off ..great service with a smile! read more

There are skims and scams going on involving employees in this store. Having watched an employee bring out an electric guitar from the back room to a waiting friend who then checked it over and the "accomplis" employee and the individual both went up to the front of the store where another insider new acting day manager put the $150 dollar item on hold behind the counter till the end of the day to give time to their associate to check it out on the internet. I have been shopping here regularly as a reseller for several years and it is store policy that everything is cash and carry. I asked the clerk/manager who was holding the guitar if he could call me if the individual didnt but the item and he exclaimed we don't call customers. This is the second time in a week that this has happened. Donations are being assigned to friends before they even hit the floor. Beware of policies when donating to this store. read more
