Honestly, I think I'm in there more than anywhere else in town... okay, maybe second only to the coffee shop -- but still. Priorities. Recently one of the girls who works there asked, "Were you in here recently?" My response: "Yes... but you're going to have to be more specific." At this point I'm basically on a first-name basis with the clearance rack. This place is truly a magical hybrid of boutique, consignment shop, and small-town treasure hunt. They have clothes for kids, teens, and adults -- some new, some consignment -- and the consignment pieces are so pristine you'd swear the previous owner bought them, lovingly removed the tags, whispered affirmations over them, and then never wore them once. And it doesn't stop at clothing. Oh no. There's furniture, small appliances, baby items, exercise gear, bedding, health and beauty goodies (from really good brands, too). You name it, they probably have it. And if they don't today... check back next week, because the inventory changes constantly. One of my favorite things is how active they are on Facebook -- posting new arrivals, sale alerts, and little contests so you can plan your visit like a highly strategic shopping mission. If you live in or anywhere near Alden and you haven't been here yet, I don't know what you're doing with your life -- but I gently and lovingly suggest you redirect yourself to Under One Roof immediately. I'll probably see you there. I'll be the one pretending I'm "just browsing."

This week I called to retrieve only the new winter coats and they tell me there is no balance on my account - and they do not have them. They further went on to state, they had nothing "tagged" for me since last December.... you literally cannot randomly drop off items, you need an appointment which I had January 26, 2026! The owner had her manager call me, who I had spoke to about these coats twice. Since they take your items and you get no ticket, ...they win! Bad business practice. Whoever took these coats has some nice winter wear.

Great place, lots of stuff inside. Plan to spend some time here. A lot of everything - toys,…read moreglassware, furniture, household, guitars, jewelry - could be found in room after room of this expansive store. Everyone wore masks and there was hand sanitizer at the entrance, along with restrooms somewhere towards the back. The guy at the desk (owner?) was not very friendly today and there weren't many people inside, but we made our way through and found some HO train stuff and a nice necklace. Not a hot day outside but pretty stuffy inside, so be prepared on hot days (not sure there is AC). We would definitely stop back in the future.

Because she knew we were coming, the owner, Wendy, placed shoes on the sidewalk that led us right to her place. The store itself is small, but that belies the amazement within. There are vintage hats, clothing, jewelry, and all sorts of accessories in this shop. I kept going up to the counter and buying more. My one friend found a beautiful lucite purse and bought it for a song. This store has everything a vintage fashion enthusiast could want! Wendy is a total doll and was so excited to have us. I'd go back solely to see her! The purchases I made there I'll always keep in my heart because they are so lovely. I highly, highly recommend you visit this store and tell Wendy I sent you!

One…read moreof the cooler pieces here were some funky disco boots way up on a high shelf in the corner collecting dust, no visible price tag or size which would likely help them sell. There were a lot of clothes/miscellaneous things in reusable shopping bags stuffed underneath the racks...unclear if shoppers are expected to dig through them. Lots of dust on the floor, got all over my skirt when I bent down to look. There is a bus parked outside that has more items for sale, but again totally disorganized and tons of junk shoved under the racks. This store has potential but the owner needs to put more effort into curating, pricing, organizing, and cleaning.

It's one of my favorite places to peruse. It's so relaxing to browse and see how artfully decorated each of the "Tulips" are: there are three locations! Lockport's The Barn and The Mercantile and Home on Niagara Falls Boulevard in Tonawanda. In a nutshell, it's a home goods store. But with really neat stuff to make your house a home. One of those "something for everyone" kind of places. The items range from unique, arty, creative and sophisticated to kind of dorky - and that's okay! There are seasonal decor and fragrances for by the sink. From home makers to hostess gifting, here is your Mecca. Vases that are interesting with arrays of paper flowers that look divine await your happy eyes. You can't help but feel happy in here! The scent is as welcoming as the displays. There are pottery items, Papier-mâché pots, farmhouse decorations, plates, marble cutting boards, mugs, Mudpie children's clothing, Buffalo Bills home cheering section decor - but of course any of this can change, so if you see something you like? Sanborn Old General Store is a rabbit warren of antiques, collectibles, and general household things you might be looking for, even if you didn't know it before you visited. But I was looking for two lamps, one for a book case and a floor model. Found both. Each little section belongs to a different seller, each seller renting a space for their wares. One sales host on site when I stopped in today, Geraldine. She was very helpful. I found lamps that would work for me, each one belonging to a different seller. The prices were reasonable, but I had a limit of what I could spend on the two. Geraldine called the sellers with my offers. First was accepted, second was a compromise. A third item, a plant stand, interested me, but it was new to the store so the dealer declined my offer. I will check back in about two weeks when I'm next out that way. Because of the quantity and variety of items in the store, the place is a collector's dream ... and a museum for all. Even if you don't live near Sanborn (I'm about 25 miles away), I'm sure you will enjoy the experience. There is also a very clean and cozy rest room.
