I don't understand why donating clothes or anything small. They will gladly accept. I brought in a recently steamed cleaned sofa and I was denied to donate an almost new sofa. Because the sofa is made from Suede. . The couch looked stained and beat up. Suede is made this way. So I left and went to two different places. Habitat for humanity and Bella's. I was told the exact same thing about the sofa looking stained and beat up. So I ended up going to a transfer station and throwing the sofa away. read more

2-1/2 stars! Don't be fooled by the low rating. This is a decent thrift store. However, it could be so much better with a little effort and caring from the people in charge. Frankly, I don't believe they really give a darn. With that, don't expect any changes or improvements any time soon. If you chose to shop with Value Village, you will have to do it on their terms. They have set and rigid protocols that are unyielding and not about to change because you want a better shopping experience. In other words, Value Village is not particularly customer-friendly. I have frequently shopped this store and found some worthwhile purchases, but not enough to routinely return. Marketing in this for-profit second hand retailer is not a priority. As other yelpers have mentioned, prices are high, quality is not very high and variety is limited as any thrift retailer is. Love it, or leave it. Most of the time, I leave it! Okay, I know this is for the donation portion only! Over the past year I have taken a few carloads of donation items and I cannot be more happy with the employees who have helped me! This morning I was up there a few minutes before 10 AM and was gladly waiting until they opened.... Well, I looked out and say a gentleman heading my way... He happily asked me if he could help and I told him I was happy to wait until 10 and his response was no problem.... and he unloaded the car and we worked together to get a shoe rack out of the back seat.... the employee's name was Kevin! This location has adapted and weathered the pandemic storms. My review here is meant to be an update/response to complaints on other reviews that I think are no longer relevant, or for which I have an alternative experience. I am a regular shopper and stopped in March 2020 and returned to shopping late in 2022. Lots of things had changed, and some things were still evolving at the stores. I love the way the employee who is on duty for self-checkout help is always friendly, knowledgeable, courteous. Within 2 visits I knew how to use the point of sale system and adapted to looking for and reading the signage (like, card payments only @ this register). Special mentions of Amber, Todd, Clayton, I appreciate seeing familiar faces of competent staff. Prices have gone up everywhere, and I am finally adjusting that this is our new reality. Sometimes if the clothing prices seem high in a given category, I know to look in that department in 2-3 weeks where they will adjust prices down a little or a lot, according to demand, or, I'll adjust to competing with other shoppers. I appreciate that the prices stay fresh: I hate it when thrift store pricers can't realize what is in style or in-demand with mass-market branding (unless it's priced in a color that's on sale, because that meant nobody was willing to buy it at a high price and I get the better deal). For example, Old Navy brand apparel shouldn't be the same price as Eddie Bauer, but much of Land's End clothing is too out of style to move at higher prices. I am glad that there is no longer a fitting room. Things are so much calmer and tidier, and the staff is more attentive and happy. I'd rather try things on at home, have time to think it over and see what else in my closet matches well. I can really be sure of my purchase. Coming back for an exchange also encourages me to take a look around and see what I should take in for donation. I wish we had 3 weeks to decide but I know the weekly colors get stale and it's not fair to them to hold on to returns too long, so I understand if they can't make an exception for me when I'm kind of late getting back to exchange. I didn't realize how much chaos came from fitting rooms until they were gone. People unshelving and discarding items, and I can only imagine the shoplifting this has shut down. All the labor saved in loss prevention and fixing rude, entitled people making a mess of inventory, much better. I find the whole experience more laid-back. When I want to find a particular thing, it's quick and simple. I don't need to check the un-hung discards around a fitting area. The staff is great, the stock organized, store is kept clean, the donation team helpful and responsive. They even have a cheerful attitude about closing when customers are so rude as to keep shopping when there's less than 10 minutes left to check out. read more

I think every other tag was punched THROUGH the QR code. Also NO fitting rooms, and you can only get store credit when returning something. VV has become a dumpster fire. read more

I was really disappointed when the other location near the hospital closed because I liked the fact that I could drive up and employees would help me unload it all. I was happy to find this location but because it's in the same parking lot as Walmart and I like the hours. However, it's very hard to get in and out of the designated parking spaces because of all the traffic and the last time I was there, I had to wait for them to empty a container so I could unload my stuff. I have been in the store once and I wasn't impressed at all. The prices were much higher than I anticipated and although I wasn't looking for anything in particular, I don't have any desire to go back. Aah, another day and a difference experience. This isn't actually for the store in general, but for two of the jacketed people on the sidewalk. Hello, I was just at the Lynnwood location today, maybe around noon. I pulled into one of the designated parking areas and put my disabled parking permit on my rear view mirror. To most people, that permit means that the person in the car will need some assistance. But not to one guy who came hustling across the sidewalk to loudly inform me that I couldn't park there. He repeated himself a couple of times. I didn't know what he was talking about since I was in a parking spot, but it turns out that wasn't the issue. He took issue with my parking permit!! He said I couldn't park there it was only for unloading. I said that's fine, that's what I want to do. Well, he didn't see why I needed the sticker. I said I didn't see why it was a problem for him. Long story short, a second man wheeled a bin over while I unloaded items from the trunk. He didn't help either, but at least he didn't have to berate me. Neither man helped me and one decided that it was his place to chew me out. I think it's time for some retraining on 1.) common courtesy and 2.) the law about disabled parking permits. I've been to many Value Village locations but have now officially given up on them. My last store experience culminated in reaching the register to find out that no one would check me out. I suppose if I had opened up my medical records and showed the manager evidence of the traumatic brain injury I suffered while serving in the military, they might have agreed to help, but a request without disclosing my disability didn't. Thinking of the next vet, I wrote the company. I received a reply in which I was told that they took my concerns very seriously and my correspondence had been forwarded to both the district and store manager. That might have been lovely but I took care not to identify the store directly as I was told that it's a company wide policy and so the employees at this locations aren't to be faulted for following company rules. As a result, not only did I have to put all the items back when I couldn't check out, when I brought it to corporate's attention I was told that they took steps that were impossible (contacting an unidentified store). Candidly, though hopeful, I didn't expect my letter to improve things, but I didn't expect them to make it worse by lying to me in their response. No response would have been better. read more

The store is clean and orderly, the workers polite. Which is why they earned 2 stars instead of one. But since this is a thrift store, a major reason I go there if for inexpensive items. And the prices are really high compared to other thrift stores and regular stores. $9 for a 2 year old generic brand dress, when I could buy it new for the same cost or cheaper is not reasonable. The other VVs in the area would charge $4, and the Goodwill would charge $3-5. $9 for worn down kids jacket. $10 for stretched out older kid pjs that were Star Wars branded, but I got the exact pair for my child for $5. A beat up Le Creuset frying pan was marked at $80, when they are $100-150 new depending on sales. That's not a deal. Pandemic Legacy was priced at $20, when its lowest sale price is around $40-45 and full price is $60. But it was opened and half played already. (It's a game that you put stickers on as you play.) At least a worker pulled it when I looked at it and explained to her that the person who had donated it had played 5 of the 12 sessions (so it wasn't playable again on those sessions.) but even so, $20 is on the high side for a board game that has been opened and played already. I was in the area and stopped by on January 6, 2016. It's not my favorite thrift store but they have a good selection. Lately I've noticed that their prices are a little better. I found white winter gloves for 99 cents, black socks to use for skiing for 99 cents, white boots that light up for $4.99, and a pair of blue jeans for $7.99. This time I didn't see any books that caught my eye. I like that they have a public restroom for our convenience. Sometimes there can be a bit of a wait if the long is line for the one restroom. Cashiers were friendly and helpful. Sometimes they price things too high for used items so I do not bother buying overpriced items. Overall a nice store. Will I return? Came here with my family to look for work clothes, as I'm starting a new job next week. I was super-impressed with the quality of clothes as well as the selection of items in my size. The prices were good, too. I purchased a wonderful suit-dress for only $4 on a colored tag. This dress was brand new and perfect! I also found a very cute and new pair of Born shoes for $10 (sure, maybe that's a bit high for thrift, but imagine how much one would pay for that kind of footwear any place else). I am also very impressed with their book selection, and the employees there are always very very sweet. I find that thropping is a bit like fishing - one can be out on the lake, with the line in the water all day and never catch a thing. But, then the next time, you are out there for five minutes and land the big one. The same thing happens at V V, you can go there and find absolutely nothing one day, and then find all those things you didn't even know you needed the next. If you are in the area, be sure to stop by St Vinny's and the Flea Market on the weekends. It's a true thropping experience! read more

The quality wasn't very good either. Hopskotch kids consignment in Lynnwood has decent prices and many d her clothes are name brand: Gymboree, Polo, Carter's, etc. One star for location and one for customer service, slow but friendly at least. Terrible customer service. Stood outside to donate. Rang bell multiple times. Was totally ignored. Finally went outside to find 3 employees loudly goofing off inside. I told them I was there to drop off. The girl who reluctantly helped me seemed really bothered by my asking for help. As she's walking to get me a discount card she (never addressing or acknowledging me) yells back to her co workers 'There's a donation bin over there.' As if to point out I didn't need to bother her and should have taken care of this all by myself. Well, when you have a BIG GREEN sign outside that says ring bell for donations, that's what I do. The problem with Value Village is the price. They generally have a good selection of stuff, but in the past couple of years they have dramatically increased their prices. I remember I used to find 99 cent shirts all the time here, but now I'm lucky if I find one that's $3.99. I've actually stopped looking at clothing at Value Villages because of this. Although this location gets bonus points because one time I found a pair of pants priced for 99 cents. A pair of pants for 99 cents that I would actually wear. I was sure that I'd get to the register and they'd say "sorry, this is actually $9.99" but fortunately that didn't happen. Value Village also has a tendency to take anything that even remotely resembles something collectible and putting a $24.99 price tag on it. This is disappointing when you find a cabbage patch doll that would make a funny joke present, but you really wouldn't want to spend more than $5 on. I go to this location because it's next to a St. Vincent de Paul's and, on the weekends, a Flea Market. read more

I live close by, so I go to this Value Village (aka Val-Vil aka "HALLOWEEN COSTUMES" as it is known on Halloween) on a weekly basis. Recent reviews of this Value Village location have overlooked a key point, which is that it is flanked by a Walmart Neighborhood Market and a St. Vincent De Paul's. This block is a frugal person's mecca. If you don't score here, drive south a couple miles on 99 and there is another Value Village. So I give it three stars for location alone. It's like getting multiple bingo cards instead of one. Also, there is always parking. Also, they do a good job moving the cashier line. We haven't even gotten to the goods yet and I am already a fan. That raises a good point, which is: how can you judge a thrift store based on its goods? You really can't. You can look at how well organized it is, or how friendly the employees are. But if you don't find what you're looking for, or you DO find what you're looking for, that shouldn't affect your opinion of the place. I guess what I'm saying is, don't go chasing waterfalls. The only reason I don't give it five stars is that like almost every thrift store, they're too busy manning the registers and stocking donations to organize toys or misc. small goods in any way that makes sense. I adore this location! The inventory is usually interesting with plenty of options, and I don't find the clothes to be undesirable. I have found some beautiful crystal and silver service at this location. When we donate, the process is usually quick, but tonight I had to wait approx 20 minutes before someone opened the door at the donation site. After ringing the bell multiple times, I finally went in and an employee was paged. This is not the norm in my experience, but it was inconvenient considering the standalone donation location was blocked preventing quick drop off. read more

They are very proud to be partnered with The Northwest Center, seeing as how they announce it twice every hour and address it while you're at the register. I've been to this location a couple of times. My most recent visit warranted a review because I want to acknowledge a job well done. When I shop at my nearest VV, the associates rarely utter a word, let alone make eye contact. At this location, everyone I encountered or observed was customer-oriented and seemed to take their jobs seriously. The guy who helped me at checkout was extremely nice. He took the time to talk with my Li'l man and wrapped my fragile items well. The store is large, bright and clean. Most of all, it's very organized.
