I had an unpleasant experience at checkout today at Marshall's Lynnwood. When I chose the Email Receipt option instead of Print, the cashier (name tag said Kiran) responded with an annoyed "Print," even though I had already made my selection. She then made a very obvious "tsk" sound and gave me a disapproving look. After I entered my email, I tried to explain that I prefer email receipts to save paper and avoid keeping physical copies. She didn't say a single word, didn't make eye contact, and immediately waved the next customer forward--completely ignoring me. Her behavior was unnecessarily rude and unprofessional. I understand checkout can be busy, but basic courtesy should not be optional. read more

I was in this location Monday and witnessed the most horrific, embarassing display of non-customer service. I came on here to see if the poor woman involved left a review regarding how she was treated, but unfortunately I dont see she has. The fellow customers in line in front and behind me were also appalled at the way the manager and her friend, a cashier, treated this poor woman. I wont say too much, I will let the victim tell her story if she chooses, I can only give my perception. But if corporate ever checks these reviews, please know that manager on Monday, June 15th and the cashier who speaks the same language (European) were treating a well dressed, well spoken, well kept, kind, patient, honest customer with such judgement, dirty looks, and spoke in their language, more than obviously about her, for more than 15 minutes in front of her. Also proceeded to speak badly of her AFTER she left the store, in front of the rest of us customers. The group of us heard the issue the customer had, she explained it to the manager and we all witnessed the play out because there was only 1 other cashier so the line began to build when the manager came up to address the situation which had a very simple resolution. But this manager decided to make things an issue, when there wasnt one, ridicule this customer per item and reject helping her. If I was that customer, I would have walked out immediately after being treated the way they discounted and degraded her. Im still shocked over a day later and its weighed so heavy on my heart how embarrassing it must have been for that customer. I am infuriated the manager is allowed to have a personal relationship so close with her cashiers that they speak of customers IN THEIR OWN LANGUAGE in front of the customer, while giving her demeaning glances and looks as though she was beneath the worst of the unhoused and addiction driven thieves that plaque the stores now a days. Im never returning to this location and the other customers who were also disgusted by the behavior made similiar comments of "we like the Shoreline location better anyway. This is just wrong! Is she really doing this to her when there is a line this long?" So it sounds like a few customers will be going elsewhere. The manager truly made a huge issue out of nothing. Upper management, retrain your managers to not be so disrespectful, to not speak in gossiping fashion in other languages in front of customers and not treat every situation as a scam or fraud. That poor woman didnt deserve that treatment. Shame on you! Remember, the universe delivers back to you what you put out! read more

On October 22nd, my wife was shopping for a dog bed. After bringing it to the cashier, it rang up at $20. The employee conferred with others for about five minutes, then returned and publicly accused her of switching price tags--a false and deeply humiliating accusation made without investigation. The tags were mismarked by the store, not altered by her. Despite calmly explaining the situation, she was dismissed condescendingly in front of other customers. The manager, who identified himself as "Phillip," refused to review video footage or acknowledge the error. After careful reflection, we believe this was a case of racial profiling. The accusation was made quickly, without evidence, and with a tone that suggested guilt before facts. Instead of taking accountability for their own mislabeling, they projected blame onto the customer--possibly to deflect or escalate. This is especially disappointing given our long history shopping at Marshalls and its sister company HomeGoods in Lynnwood. We've filed formal complaints with Marshalls corporate, the BBB, and the FTC. I've personally written to the Chief Compliance Officer. Since my wife was accused of a crime, we are drafting legal framework against TJX Companies, Inc., the manager, and the employee who made the accusation without evidence. We're not seeking money or punishment. We're asking for a formal apology, staff retraining, and a commitment to treating every customer with dignity. No one should be publicly accused of a crime they didn't commit. No one should be humiliated for simply trying to shop. We hope Marshalls takes this seriously and chooses accountability over apathy. read more

Found 3 great outfits for under $150.00. The dressing room attendant was one of the sweetest , kindest ladies ever. The only thing I don't like about this store is clothes are too packed in and it's hard to move. Maybe take some things off the floor so it's not so cluttered. Smaller carts would be helpful as well. I don't really shop at Marshall's but this location was pretty nice. Shelves were stock and decently organized. Went last Friday and it was pretty packed. I definitely come here for gifts! They have good brands and affordable prices. I came and found a men's electric shaver for $10 and a north face beanie for $10. That's a steal! read more

Somehow I got more attention this afternoon when I shopped at the beauty aisle. One of their employees, Caucasian man, 5 feet 10, (probably a supervisor or manager in the store), followed me, stared at me, staked me out, pretending to pass by me, check on me, etc at least five to six times in less 20 mins while I was looking at the beauty items. It made me feel very uncomfortable, being treated like a suspect. Or maybe it was just because I'm an Asian woman and he did not think that I was welcomed to shop at his store...... read more

This store has a terrible selection shelves are messy and unorganized places are all screwed up. The bathroom floor even had shit on it and all over the rail it was disgusting. When I tried to purchase a shirt and when I tried it on the tag got caught in my hair and ripped off from pulling it off my over my head. I brought the tag up to the counter with the shirt and they would not honor the price and said that that tag didn't belong to the shirt and I said yes it did I just told you it came off because I tried it on and they said well it's not on there now and we can't charge that. I think that store is a fucking joke and I hope it gets closed soon never any good products there it's way overpriced and on top of that a lot of the stuff that they sell is two or three seasons old. Worth the prices if you have the time and patience. Some of the clothes in here are better than what you can find elsewhere but trying to find your size can be very difficult. Shopping the racks here are similar to a second hand store however the clothes are new and not used! I was a little frustrated trying to find my size on some awesome shirts that were exactly my style but not my size. They don't group the items according to a style of clothing for let's say a particular shirt. They rack the items according to sizes so you'll have 20 plus different styles of shirts (or whatever you might be looking for) all next to each other. I've only recently started shopping at Marshalls so I come when I have time and not grumpy, because trying to find the same item I just fell in love with in a different size is near impossible. They have a large women's section and a smaller men's section. There is a nice selection of scented candles and liquid hand soaps at a discounted price. read more

Was extremely disappointed to find that when I asked for a price on something that was identical to another item I purchased they told me it was going to be $5 more than the other item priced lower than they one that didn't have a tag then got scoffed at for saying no thanks. Love this place! The commercials are right on about the prices and the selections you can find :) Coming here can be a bit dangerous, especially if you're only planning to find one thing you'll walk out of the store with a bag full of... goodies. But, man did we score here. I pulled out 3 pairs of jeans we found in his size of varying cut/styles and shoo-ed him toward the dressing room. Marshalls in general is a great place to buy decent home products at discounted prices. The concept is perfect for savvy shoppers and deserves all the stars. This particular Marshalls is questionable as a business. First, they have a sign in front of the store window that states it is not compliant with the fire codes. Second, as we were making our purchase, an individual who went through the checkout line, walked past the registers and out the door with an armful of items he didn't pay for. When asked if the employees were going to stop him from shoplifting, they said there is nothing they could do. So, lesson learned, if there is a fire in the store you are on your own, burn if you must and if you want something in the store, just walk out without paying for it. The honest people will pay for your items through their discounted purchases. Marshalls is great, this store in particular not so much. read more

Allot of the house wears are broken, or chipped and they only take 50 cents off. And they ruin the designer clothing by cutting the tags (devalueing the piece of clothing.) The staff barely speaks english and the return policys are TERRIBLE. I tried returning an item i got as a gift, and the lady was like "well we can only giv eyou 10% of the sale price". I said excuse me? Give me full credit theres the gift receipt and give it in store credit. She was extreamly rude and barely spoke a word of english! This is the first place I go when i need something at a great price! They have everything here! Shoes, pots and pans, decor, books, toys, and even food! I tend to spend a good amount of time when I go there to rummage through the clothing which kinda sucks, but everything else is pretty easy to find. They are in a face uplift phase and things are starting to look more organized there. Friendly staff, but sometimes I cannot understand them because English is not their first language. We found some sweet buys here. We love Click Clacks and they had a ton in stock for awesome prices. Then we found these awesome glass tupperware like containers that we were preparing to spend bigger $$ on from a different retailer. Then we shopped for clothes and found a few designer items for the right price (a Shelly Segal dress and some Reaction shorts). That's what I'm talking about. The store is well organized and clean. I am so frustrated with Marshall's in lynnwood right now! I went and wanted to buy a bench and unfortunately it wouldn't fit into my car. I put it on hold for my husband to come pick up when he got off work. Literally 3 hours later he went up there and they had sold it. This wasn't a easy commute for him to get to from work and I had even written down my information for them to hold it. When I called after my husband said it wasn't there there the manager said we don't hold furniture because it's so big but they definitely did hold it for me and when I was looking around I saw other furniture that had "holding until today's date." When I called after my husband had got there and it wasn't there they literally didn't care. It is super disappointing when you're super excited you found a piece that works great for your space and then it gets taken away from you even though you did the right thing and put it on hold and was told it would be there. read more

I have bought the majority of my purses from Marshalls. They are at a reasonable price for name brands but the nice thing is that they are still currently in fashion. Most often by the time large department stores place name brand items at these sale prices it has gone out of style considered passe and people will point and whisper as you walk by. I have had luck there with sunglasses, art, housewares, athletic wear and occasionally clothes. Great place to shop for the little ones for inexpensive designer clothes such as polo. Then you really don't care if they spill and soil it because it didn't cost you more than your own outfit. Great place to shop for little girl holiday dresses during Christmas and Easter. read more

i used to come here with my best friend and family every month or so. it's been a tradition since we were in grade school. we would find Nautica and Polo Ralph Lauren socks for $2.99 and cute Plugg jeans and Doc Marten shoes. yes, this was indeed... in the 90's. it's your basic TJ Maxx crap. i enjoy stores like this when i want to find something cheap but not K-mart cheap for someone's christmas gift or something. mostly... i shop for people i don't love too much; in hopes they will never find out i shopped here for their present. lol read more

I have been to this marshals a lot of times, sometimes it was a good experience others not too good. In my opinion it has gone down in quality with a lot of their products, mainly with their make up/ beauty department. Now i understand that marshals is a kind of discount store and I do like that because the few good products you find are more affordable. They carry all sorts of products and brands and I like the selection but you need to be VERY careful and look at the product very closely because I have had multiple times where a product has been broken and or missing. One time I was buying a ABH highlighting palette that they had (it was also in a anti stealing box/ lock box) and I got to buy it and I get in my car and open it up... three of the six shades were smashed beyond repair, now they had a lot of these palettes there in those boxes and the last time I was there those exact palettes were not in those boxes, (they probably recognized the brand and wanted to keep them safe) and they were all smashed up too. My main problem was yes they were smashed but why in the world would they lock up the broken palettes and sell them for full price and not even check to see if they were worth locking up??? Something similar happened to later on, I bought M.A.C lip pencils ( the box said it came with three lip pencils and the box was locked up in their security boxes) I got home to swatch the three pencils I paid for only to find ONE pencil... that had been used!!! So the next day I found another one on the shelf and I did an exchange, I asked my cashier to open the box to make sure they were all there and they were, so they let me exchange them. My advice to you if you go there for make up don't buy it if you can't see the product or the packaging is broken because you might be getting scammed, or you could ask a worker to open the box so you and them can see if it is broken or not. Well, just don't come during the holidays and you're going to shop just fine. Marshalls is always good for clothes and kitchenware. I keep trying to decide if today's the day to buy that Le Crueset dutch oven or Italian leather bag. You have to keep searching, but this is my favorite way to 'hunt' for things.
