Showed up on a Sunday evening at about 6 PM. The line was about six cars, deep, but got through pretty quickly. The service I received while unloading was awesome. The person was very helpful, and careful of some of the glass items that I dropped off. I hope that this offers a great selection to some of their future shoppers and helps increase their revenue for the programs they support. I believe the value of these items is unique, and will allow someone to get more life out of the items we donated. It's a great cause. read more

I've been wanting to leave a review for quite some time but I've been waiting because I don't like leaving poor reviews. Today however after visiting this Value Village, which I frequent, I just had to leave my 2 star review. The staff in the store are friendly, the store is clean, and there are an abundant amount of clothing & housewares, thus why I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1. But here's my problem with this store - the prices are outrageous. I wanted to leave this review months ago when at that time prices were ridiculous but I visited today and couldn't believe the astronomical prices. The economy is in the tank yet you keep raising your prices??? There are no dressing rooms so if I buy your $20-30 jeans and they don't fit I can only exchange them, not get a refund and I only have two weeks to do so. I found clothing priced at $40 & $50, granted new with tag but not brands worth that inflated price. Shoes average $17 or more now. I haven't bought shoes there in quite some time. These items are donated, why price them so high the average person can't afford them. I really think you need to rethink your pricing strategy, you've finally out priced me as a customer. read more

This company is incredibly selfish and greedy. The CEO (Mark Walsh) makes 10 million dolllars a year and lives in a Mansion in Bellevue. Meanwhile he is skyrocketing the prices of DONATED GOODS. Price rises? Sucks but okay fine. Prices rise again? Not happy about it, but maybe there are some good finds? They removed the fitting rooms? Hm. I ask an employee THREE TIMES to make sure I can return clothes that don't fit, and the employee confirms THREE TIMES that as long as it's within 14 days, the tags are still on, and I have the receipt, yes I can return clothes. I even felt kinda annoying for asking 3 times, but I wanted to make sure. I go in to return the clothes that don't fit (maybe if they didn't remove the fitting rooms, I could've tried them on?? But no, let's just make everyone gamble on top of raising prices to an unreasonable extent) and this employee argues with me like her life depended on it instead of getting me her manager. And her manager tells me that there was a miscommunication and that maybe I "misheard" because they tell their employees not to use the word "return" and that they're supposed to exclusively use "exchange". She also says that they have team meetings about this. (Clearly these meetings have been pointless.) I perfectly understand the difference between "exchange" and "return", which is why I asked THREE TIMES to confirm I could RETURN the items before I made the transaction. This person said "return" every single time. I understand if something is policy and if it's written somewhere, but as soon as an employee gives a customer incorrect information (THREE TIMES) about a policy that costs them money, that's when it's unacceptable. (It's not a big enough issue for me to file a lawsuit, but that is grounds for legal action in case you're wondering.) This is only the second time I've ever left a yelp review. That's how fed up I am with Value Village. They've lost all their good will by disproportionately raising prices. There's no economic justification for the amount they've raised their prices. Many of their items are now the same price as buying brand new and in some cases even more expensive. I used to go pretty frequently. It was a great place to go if you were really on a budget but needed clothes, wanted to look at some dishes, or were looking for a movie to watch at a discount. Blu-rays were around $4, now they're usually around $8. DVDs were around $2, now they're usually around $4-5. The dishes my family and friends have taken a look at and decided not to buy are more expensive than buying new now. It makes me sad because I'm not some random person who walked in and didn't like the one experience I had. It's been a decline, but over the past year it's completely become a negative experience. I really liked going here. I'd come with my mom when I younger. I use to go with friends. And now it's such a rip-off. The managers don't even care when their employees have ripped you off and instead try to blame you (even when you ask THREE TIMES to confirm. I did not mishear. I don't purchase if I'm too unsure and the only option is to exchange). Don't go. Let them see how much they've worsened as a store. I'm not saying this out of anger or spite. If you keep supporting them, they have no reason to change. Stop going here, stop supporting them. If they make the right changes, go back again and everyone's happy. If not, then they go out of business and a different thrift store takes its place, repeat. Yes, I'm upset about the return/exchange issue. But much more than that, I'm just very disappointed and wish they didn't become greedy. Value Village's practices defeat the entire point of being a thrift store. read more

We've always heard that VV was the place to go to with donations because they are aligned with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Puget Sound, and that they had lots of staff at the Donation Center to help unload. We chose the VV in Issaquah for its convenience. My wife and I needed to downsize and had lots of home goods, books, furniture in slightly used to near new condition. We carefully wrapped breakable items, and carefully boxed hundreds of books in near new condition. As welcoming as the staff was to receive our donations, we were SHOCKED at how the items were treated on three separate trips to VV. Whether it was a box of books or breakables, the staff simple turned the boxes over and dumped - let me repeat that - DUMPED the items into large rolling bins. I wish we had taken photos - it was sickening to watch. On our second trip we pointed out the boxes should not be dumped and yet the staff told us this was how they were told to do their job. We're sure that breakables broke and books were damaged. We also had a five-foot blanket chest on small casters. A single staff started to pull it out of the back of the van and had the chest just six inches from dropping to the pavement if I had not yelled STOP. The other two staff were too far away to be of any help, so I stepped in to save the chest from being damaged beyond any value to sell. The only items the Donation Center helpers took exceptional interest in and care of in unloading was the four touring cycles we donated. Based on this experience we went to other donation centers for the rest of the reusable / resalable items. I don't know if all Value Villages operate like Issaquah does, but I RECOMEND that you AVOID Value Village. There are MANY smaller donation centers that are more conscientious about the items donated, IE St Margarets Thrift Shop on Factoria Blvd, or Mercer Island Thrift Shop. read more

This place is ridiculous! Their management team prices items as if they are new! I found a longboard I wanted, didn't have a price tag so I took it up for a price. Mind you this, all surrounding longboards were name brand and about $9-$11, but because this board had Taco Bell on it I came back to a price of $45! I said to the associate, "Wow, why so much?!", she responded, "because it's branded it goes for more." What a joke! The board was scratched up, lose trucks and all. I come here often and let me give you the breakdown... Pros: 1) staff is friendly and understanding 2) there is a large verity in what they have and u will most likely find what u need 3) there r mirrors around the store so u can see how something looks on u 4) if u donate then u get a card with a bunch of discounts that work immediately- I saved almost 10 dollars from it 5) it is very organized 6) they have the best selection of items I. The area Cons: 1) there r a lot of stained clothing items that are marked for a high price - but was looking at a pair of branded jeans that had a period stain on them for 23.99 which is a good price for a branded item but u usually wouldn't wash jeans because of shape and sizing 2) there r no dressing rooms and there is a strict policy on not using the bathrooms to change- however if u can slip the clothing piece on quickly then u will be able to check itself in the mirrors Overall it's a pretty average thrift store... Edit: I went back for some more thrifting and upped my review by one star because the staff was so kind about finding every possible way to get a charger for my android because it ran out of charge. The staff was also super nice, and you can find some steals there that were amazing! Ridiculous prices. Every time I go, it's like someone is back there pricing stuff as if it's their personal yard sale and they are trying to make as much as they can. Adding photos of the madness. Large glass vase for $50? Pricing things ABOVE the brand-new price.. with the tag still on the item? Half this stuff needs to be priced to move it off the shelf. This is one of the nicer thrift shops I've been to in Western WA. We went mostly to check out kids stuff and they had a ton of monster trucks and dinosaurs in those little bags for cheap. Also found some pants for less than $3 a pair for my toddler. The Goodwills in Seattle are super picked over in contrast. read more

This location has the highest turnover of any Value Village location. Great variety of items displayed in a mostly clean and well-lit space. New self-check-out stations mean shorter lines. Like any thrift store, contents are randomly amazing, rare, familiar, gross, offensive, and recalled. I usually have good luck here for furniture, shoes, wallets, kids books, jeans, baskets, used band instruments (I like to donate these to our middle school), water sports gear. Please keep in mind that this is a FOR PROFIT COMPANY. They may throw some change to charities, but charity is not their mission. Value Village is a great RECYCLING company. It gives all sorts of used items a second chance to serve. In many cases, older-made items are just plain better-made from stronger materials. Yes, please! Note: Changing rooms are still closed, even though Redmond Goodwill has opened theirs. Recommend you wear a tighter shirt and yoga pants or leggings, so you can change in the aisles. There is no reason for used clothing to cost upwards of $30 other than pure greed. They removed the dressing rooms so you can't try on any items, and there are minimal mirrors around. This Value Village is of medium size compared to their other stores. They are installing self-checkout lanes here, so part of the dressing room area is broken down to make room. I was looking for home decor and stationary. These areas had been picked pretty clean but found some candles for Halloween. The donation line can get really long. read more

I asked to get an extension cord priced and they said, "we can't do it now, we're too busy while they were laughing in a group 2 minutes before." I said, "ok, should I come back in 30 minutes or a couple hours." They said "come back tomorrow ". I said "ok, does that mean you'll hold the item?" And was told "no, it goes back on the shelf." The people working there today were so rude. I walked up with a big bag of clothes to donate and I didn't see a bin so I went outside and they made me go back inside. I asked a lady where to go for donations and she was stand off ish. Then I found a pair of jeans I wanted to buy that didn't have a tag on them so I brought them up and she bluntly said "if they don't have a tag we can't sell them. As with any thrift store, this location is hit or miss. There are times when I've filled a cart and other times when I've spent 2 hours hunting and walked out with nothing. More often than not, I walk out empty handed. For a thrift store, I find Value Village to be overpriced. $14.99 for a pair of jeans seems to be standard. Compared to regular retail that might be a good prices, but it's expensive for a thrift store. In my opinion, the best departments at this location are the activewear. pants, and dresses. If you go, make sure you ask which color tag is on sale that particular day. I do like dropping off donations here because there are 2 lanes and the line moves relatively quickly. unfortunately every time I've come here over the last 6 YEARS I've experienced some form of negative prejudice or discrimination. Nearly every time I checkout one of the older women ( usually talking to another employee instead of assisting customers ) have asked to check my receipt or are hovering.... Not only is it embarrassing for them cause people look at them strangely for singling me out, but to make matters more awkward, they've done it every time regardless of who I'm with, and I am a black woman. This evening, Monday 12/5/22, my girlfriends and I went to Value Village at about 6:30pm, with bags of prior purchases from other stores and was quickly approached by an employee saying to us , "all of your bags need to be checked in." So, without hesitation we comply, following this employee to the counter where the jewelry cases are and hand her over our bags. Be fore I give her my 2 bags filled with items i bought from other stores in the area, I tie both of the handles on each bag in a knot ensuring they were secured. I hand over my two bags and the employee hands over a black clip with a material type tag as a way of differentiating my bag from my 3 girlfriend's bags. Mind you, store closes at 7:00pm so we are told we have 30 minutes to browse, check out if needed and leave. So we all go our separate ways. I look around the store browsing through the Christmas items, then the clothing, to the books and shoes areas, but I don't find anything. At 6:55pm or so, an employee makes an announcement that store will be closing asking customers to please check out. I don't have anything to buy so I return to the counter to retrieve my 2 bags. A different employee and I exchange the black key clip for my bags. I didn't bother to check if all of my items where in my bags because the handles were still tied. I wait on the side for my girlfriends to finish their transactions and we all leave saying our goodbyes to the 2 female employees at the door. Well, here's the kicker....when I get back to my hotel which is 5 minutes away, I notice that ONE of the items I bought from another store was missing. . I checked everywhere and asked my girlfriends if they had my sweater. To no avail, sweater was no where to be found. Value village was the last place we went to before returning to our hotel. None of my other friends were missing anything but me. I was so pissed. Because the store was already closed, I couldn't call or go back. I will call to speak to a manager to follow up and ask for footage. At this point, I really don't give a shit about my sweater, but I do want whoever is responsible to be held accountable. If you ever go into this store and are told to check in your bags, be sure to check that ALL of your items are there. ***THEY DO NOT DESERVE ANY STARS!!! Today I donated a bunch of stuff to value village in n Issaquah. I had a box filled with vintage a speciality drinking glasses and newer beer steins. I handed to the young worker and I told him it was a box of vintage glassware carefully packed. He turned around, walked to a bin, turned it upside down and dumped it. I heard glasses breaking. I didn't shop here but did drop off three bags of clothes on my recent purge. VV has a drop off vehicle center here so you can drop off items. It was quick many people dropping off donations on a Sunday but it felt like I was in and out of there fairly quickly. They thanked me for the donation and gave me a tax receipt for the donation. Unlike the Goodwill drop off about a mile from here. VV had 5 worker bees collecting donations where Goodwill had one and were closed because she was going to lunch. There are a lot of like new things mixed in with the typical assortment of junk that you'll find in any thrift store, but it's definitely worth sorting through to find the treasures!
