So had I read the reviews before checking in (like I normally do), I probably would have paid the extra $30 to stay at a place across the street. There are signs in the lobby area saying "no drugs, no prostitutes" or you get kicked out. I asked to see the room before paying and so I was given a room on the second floor facing the lake. There were problems with the power and the chain-lock on the door was broken but the manager there fixed the power situation at least. Another manager later on told me that they have a problem with drugs and hookers but that they are usually put in the back of the hotel. So no worries! Otherwise the hotel room was clean, even though it wasn't safe, and I slept well. Good value but not for the faint of heart. read more
