One of the worst experiences I have ever had at a mechanic shop. We took the car in on Thursday 5/14/2026 in the morning, we were told by Sam that the diagnostic would cost $150.00 which would be deducted from the total cost. He called later on and said that the engine coolant sensor needed to be replaced, and the total cost would be $850.00. He said it would take 3-4 hours to complete the job. We called his at the end of the day he said it would be ready in the morning on Friday, my son went to the shop on Friday morning on Friday morning, but the car was not ready as promised, he said again 3-4 hours, so we called again on Friday afternoon hoping that the car was ready, but no it was not and he claimed that they had the wrong part and he was not going to charge us for it, as we are supposed to be responsible for his mistake getting the wrong part. He said the car was going to be ready by the end of the day, so we called again at the end of the day he said it was not ready and would be ready on Saturday morning. To make the long story short, the car was not ready until Saturday afternoon. I sent my son to pay and pick up the car, Sam charged him $900 instead of the agreed $850.00 when I asked him why more he claimed it was taxes even though the taxes are 7.75% not an even $50 if that is true note that he at the beginning said the TOTAL was going to be $850.00. In addition there was no TAXES showing on the receipt or the report so they claimed taxes without reporting it in their report. I gave that shop 1 star because there is no ZERO or even Negative stars. I will never go there again and don't recommend it to anyone. read more

BE AWARE: Major scammer, took my car in for a routine smog check. They charged me full $40.00 for a smog that they failed cause the car's computer and sensors had not booted up fully after a recent battery change. They told me I would have to drive 100 miles and come back another time to pay for another smog check. I took my car 14-miles down the street to Lambert Smog Center and passed it no less than 45-minutes later. Do not waste your time and money with this shop. Everywhere else I've talked to told me in that circumstance the correct thing to do is to allow the customer to drive around for 30min-1hour and come back to pass them without an additional charge. I came in to get a smog check for the DMV and thankful I read the Yelp comments to prepare myself for the upselling that was going to happen. The man who assisted me was personable and I appreciated that my registration came in the mail on time, but the marketing part was a little over the top. I did however receive a discount for it being my first time there. I kept receiving text messages and emails, after coming to the shop once. I was told I needed to get everything fixed in my car, which was going to cost over $3000. I was at the shop during my lunch break, so I wasn't planning to stay there for more than an hour. After I said I don't have time, he offered to provide transportation and offered to set up a payment plan for me. Do not use this place. They upsell over what you need!! They will tell you that a perfectly good part needs replacing!! We've had major repairs done and many servicings on our car. We have since found out after moving to a great company that things were done completely wrong making our car dangerous to drive, plus other items that were never done. Came here for the smog check and a few other things that I needed. Found the place you have pretty competitive prices for smog check and oil change, etc. Met the owner, Sam. He's a cool guy, honest and straight to the point. Had a couple of very helpful workers that helped point out some things for me and took care of my car. Didn't take long at all, and the waiting room was comfortable and the parking lot had good Mexican food nearby as well. They installed the incorrect battery size!! Do not go here!! There were so many red flags that I should've known. While I was waiting for my battery to be installed, there was a customer yelling at the owner for doing unnecessary maintenance to his car without his approval and charging him a lot of money for it. They tried to get me to do some belt replacement that did not need it. And to top it all off the wrong sized battery that died in less two years when it should be double that time. read more

This place is my go to for oil changes, Smog checks and car repair every time I've come here it's been fast friendly and professional. Sam is an amazing owner who gives it to you straight and is funny basically a family my friend vibe. I've never been ripped off in fact this the only place I've been to where the mechanics were friendly, Talkative and informative. Prices are good here always really good specials for oil changes usually the synthetic oil change is $50 for a small car which is really good. Came in twice for a smog test, two different cars. - 6 months apart. Failed for same reason "impairment" tried to quote me $250-$400 to fix items not related to the failure of the smog test. Additionally tried to sell me brake fluid and other service related expenses. Luckily i have a mechanic who confirmed it was them trying to make money off me. Passed the test at other place without any issues. I let it go the first time but the pattern of same reason for failure on a different car "red flag" will never be going here again. read more

Completely wasted my time. I waited for the shop to open and was told 1 hr to smog my car. I went for a walk and came back and my car is still in the parking lot an hr later. They pull my car into the rear of the shop and a half hr later I walked around the bldg to the rear and see my car idling but nothing was done yet due to the smog machine being down. The operator told me they started but it was obvious nothing was done as they were troubleshooting the machine with nothing hooked up to the car. The operator then told me it will be another hr. I didn't believe him so decided to leave and I was then told "you are very impatient". I then reminded the operator that his dog had been in his car since he arrived and opened the shop and that I will come back and if his dog is still in the car with windows up and in the sun that I would call the police. I went there for an oil change and smog test, they have good discount ads. $4200.00 later my car was returned the next day the last minute before I had to leave for medical appointment with the cargo cover thrown in the back seat by greasy hands, cargo contents tossed all over the place. I was told I would have the car back the evening before, given excuse it was being test driven then and then again the next morning when I called (being test driven). The worst thing is that I wrote down my mileage when I arrived at the shop. The mileage on the work order is 1,474 miles less than the actual mileage because the company warranty is only valid for the first one thousand miles or 30 days whichever comes first. SO, my warranty was expired before the work was even completed. I DO NOT recommend this company for the above stated reasons. read more

Both visits were very pleasant--right from the start they let me know how long I'd be waiting, what my total would be, and didn't try to sell anything else outside of the services I requested. The waiting area is quite small, but I only had to wait 45 minutes for smog check and the second time I left and came back. I hope no one ever has to deal with such disrespect and dishonesty. I first went to Value Auto for an oil change. I felt like I was getting great value and decided to return in the future for other service needs. Recently, I needed brakes on my hybrid. I was upsold on other services and decided to move forward with the recommendations. Apparently some of the parts were not in stock and had to be special ordered. I didn't learn that until I was called and told my car was "ready". They broke the news to me upon arrival. My initial reaction was "that is not ready" but no harm no foul, they will call me when the parts arrive. That never happened. I waited a week before I had to call only to find out the parts were sitting in the shop. I let that slide. I later brought my wife's vehicle in for drivability concerns. I was once again upsold and felt comfortable moving forward with the recommended repairs. Got a call that the car was ready for pick up but wasn't told until I arrived that the shocks they had were the wrong ones. Once again I had to follow up with mechanic Joseph who doesn't know how to pick up a phone and let you know that the parts you already paid for had arrived and were ready for install. I left a note on the dashboard for Joseph to please take the vehicle for a test drive so we can make sure the problem was addressed. Clearly that wasn't done and the drivability concerns are still there. A week after my last visit, I received text notifications from my financial institutions that 3 of my cards that I had in my arm rest were used, at the Corona Walmart. One charge was for $404.94. Knowing that I keep my vehicle garaged and quickly realized that the cards were removed from my vehicle while at the Value Auto. I wish Sam the best of luck and hope he purges the potheads that are getting loaded before their shift and crooks that are stealing from his customers. read more

I took my 2004 Toyota Highlander in for an oil change he had a discount flyer sent out and the first thing he did was upgrade the flyer of about $20 to a $60 synthetic oil change I okd that and got my car back the next day my rack and pinion steering system started to make strange noises . This car has never leaked any fluids so I went back and left the car and he told me I needed a new hydronic pump for the stearing system because of leakage in the old pump. I kept seeing these bad reviews all over their Yelp page. I even thought... wow, maybe a competitor is making them up. But.... Just like anything in life, the true colors always come out. I've been giving value auto my small maintenance stuff for the past few years. Finally, there was an important project to remove check engine light warning and other sensor warning. I was quoted a crazy amount from him of $2,000. He said there's no guarantee the warnings would come off. So I declined service. With no prior agreement In place, he charges me an inspection fee without my consent. I just left bmw dealer and the quote to fix the sensors is $375.00, turns out it was very minor stuff. Disappointed the owner handled my project this way. Him charging $149, lack of diagnosis, just cost him every future service or repair from our family. Extremely disappointed. read more

SCAM ALERT............... I wish I could leave a NEGATIVE star for this place. The people there can't even spell "HONESTY". What they quote you as the initial price is the only thing that doesn't mean a thing to them. When I got the final invoice, I noticed somebody has signed the estimate for me. Remember, they take your car apart and they call you with a much higher PRICE like at least 100% and at most 600% more than the initial quotation. And they give you an option come take your car the way it is with all the parts out of the car and in the trunk. To make the matters worse you must pay them a few hundred $$$$$ LABOR COST for them taking your car apart. Don't be a bit surprise, if a $400 good faith initial estimate becomes $2,372 at the time of getting your car out of there. And they think they are smart. Read their good reviews, 99% of them are about SMOGS or minor repairs. One of the good ones is "They put air in somebody's tire and didn't charge her", OH wow..... Please be aware when going to this shop. They alter things on your car so you can need repairs. They told me they wanted to do a tuneup and other things as well as a diagnostic. I told them that I wasn't doing that at that time. This guy spent a lot of time under my hood yet he was only supposed to be doing a smog check. Now my car is burning a tank of gas a day as opposed to a tank in three to four days like it was. I called and was given plenty of excuses and lies. Please don't trust this place. And if you do go watch them very closely. Whatever was done was done for me to need their services because today he says I need to do a diagnostic maam when I called him out on it.
