Small group atmosphere is great, other program style workouts you get into larger classes and the instructors are just a voice on the mic. 9Round the moves are easy, quick to teach and the team is there for personal corrections and motivation. But my main favorite about 9Round is the intensity of the workout. I am able to warmup much quicker than expected and based on the heart rate zones will spend almost the entire time in the green zone or higher. In a 33 minute workout, I will usually spend 15 minutes or more above 84% heart rate. On those days when you just don't feel like working out (luckily I have a workout buddy) punching the bags is a great release for the frustration. It is pretty much a guarantee that I will leave dripping sweat and in a better mood than when I walked in.

I had no idea what to expect and am usually easily intimidated by these sorts of gyms or anything involving self-defense. I was greeted with nothing but friendly faces and positive vibes. The lessons are always slightly changed just enough to keep you engaged and mentally stimulated, but not in a harsh crossfit like environment. They are also tailor to a wide range of fitness levels, and everyone is treated equally. Classes vary, so you can choose what works best for your comfort level, and work to higher levels if you need a challenge. Also, I've seen so many members lose weight, and have a blast doing it...so it's a weight-loss gym in Round Rock, as well. They let you try classes for free, so you have nothing to lose, but the weight and whatever fear you had before joining. I've worked from home for 10 years, and this locally owned, self-defense gym, truly felt like a blessing, and filled a void for me on so many levels. I will forever be grateful. I did the commercial gym for ages with no results, but Round Rock Krav Maga was different and I finally saw results, emotionally and physically.

Sadly…read morewhen I arrived a week ago to schedule classes I was told that they do not offer Jiu Jitsu anymore because they do not have an instructor. They mentioned that they need to have the advertising taken off groupon website. It is a week later and their groupon is still active on Group.com. So I opted for kickboxing and scheduled a class for 7:15 and was told to be there 10-15 minutes before class starts. I arrived at 7:01 and waited till 7:16. The door was locked and 2 people sparring in the back. They saw we when I knocked loudly but they ignored me. I suspected that they had a private session going one. I then left. Never got call but I suspect I will get one after posting here.

Read your…read morecontract you sign with them very carefully and understand you must come in to fill out a cancellation form. They will continue to charge your credit card until you do so. On top of that it has to be 30 day notice so if you get charged and come in 2 weeks later you will get charged one more month. It's 2016 it should not be this hard to cancel. I was attending this gym for 3 months, when a family emergency happened and I had to go upstate, and needed to cancel my membership due to this issue. I expressed this multiple times and the owner did not give a shit, all he cared about was his money, so much so that I have multiple threatening voicemails saying they will send me to small claims court because I had a $181 past due balance. I had to pay them $473 just to cancel my membership, after this is all said & done, the owner then says "when you are back & your first month is on me" what bullshit, he could have helped me out and not made me pay so much just to cancel, I was told that they care and this is why they make multiple appointments to contact you if you aren't showing up, and I call bullshit, if they really care they would have been more understanding towards my issue and just let me cancel without paying nearly $500. Therefore, I will never be back to this gym, & when I hear people talk about it, I will tell them never to come here. I believe they are truly shitty people who only care about their money, and not their customers whom they claim to care for. I can't believe this is how I was treated. Yelp should let you zero star a vendor.

Awesome martial arts center for kids! The owners are a very nice couple (both accomplished martial…read moreartists). The vibe is definitely welcoming and family-oriented (the owners' baby is often hanging out by the mats). This particular center stood out to me because they offer classes for toddlers (their Tiny Tots classes, ages 2-3). My daughter attended for a couple months until they unfortunately dropped an early time slot that worked for us (due to low attendance). It was a 20 minute class but it was filled with a variety of exercises -- climbing, crawling, jumping, kicking, catching, and much more. The classes were bookended by an intro to discipline (bowing and addressing their Sensei). I definitely saw an improvement in my daughter after multiple sessions -- her physical skills improved as did her attitude. She seemed to really enjoy it as well. We intend to return when she's a bit older. Highly recommended for kids of all ages.

I'm a 1-0 pro MMA fighter with a 5-0 amateur record and striking is my strength, so I've had some very good coaches, but this is another level entirely. Raymond has such a deep knowledge of the game and has systems and principles that are easy to learn and make improvements in short order. A lot of students are there for self defense, a hobby, or a workout and they have a blast too! It's such a cool style to learn, and I believe there's no one better to learn distance fighting from.

I've started completing at jujitsu tournaments again for the first time in over a decade and the way I handle myself is totally different than before. No more pulling guard or being comfortable on bottom. I'm dominating scrambles and 50/50 positions . I'm very pleased with the changes I've learned here . I'm a lot to deal with and that want the case when I used to do this as a younger man. The gym is also community and family focused so there's a ton of kids and families that attend.
