I went to primary dr told them I was having issues with passing out and something felt off with my heart. They put me on heart monitor for only 4 days and told me I can just go on weight loss shot.. urgent care was also very disrespectful they actually asked me like five times if I was pregnant I kept saying no. They also wouldn't take my insurance even though my insurance called them two times and they messed up my billing by putting all my appointments as emergency room visits.. I chose a new primary dr with st alphonsus and with in just two weeks They diagnosed me with pcos and pots. NOTE TO SELF it isnt always about weight and if I hadn't gone to new dr idk where I'd be right now especially with my heart issues... if you have pcos or pots I wouldn't go to them they said them selfs to me they don't know how to treat it. On a side note my husband step dad went there for while trying to figure out why his health was declining so fast. They ran test couldn't figure it out and lied said he died to alzheimer's... which isn't what happened his family will never know why or what happened all because the dr wouldn't listen but to lie on paper about that.. read more

Would not recommend for urgent care or any other reason. I live in Emmett, so it was convenient to take my son in for a strep test after him being sick and getting worse over the course of a week. We saw Dr. Roy - and since strep was negative and due to other symptoms, it was said he has Mono. The doctor wrote a note for my son to miss two weeks of school, but when my son asked if he could still go to basketball if he felt up to it - the doctor told him yes! Go support his team! What?! That is crazy to me - especially since he wrote the opposite on the chart notes. My son continued to get worse - typical Mono symptoms. I called in Friday morning to see if the doctor may be able to prescribe steroids (this can help with extremely sore and swollen throat) and was told I would get a call from the doctor. At 1:30pm I called back fearing that the pharmacy would close and he would have to suffer the weekend. The lady on the phone at 1:30 asked a few more questions and stated that the doctor may be able to get him the steroids, or a mouth rinse that could help the symptoms, and that the primary physician on staff would be calling me soon. I waited all day - no call. Now I'm back at a different Urgent care in Star - and when I called Valor this morning - the lady said the doctor never planned to call- that I would have needed to bring my son back in yesterday. I would have done that if the person I spoke with told me that!! They do not have the patients best interest, cannot give accurate information, and should not be in business if they cannot give patients the correct information. I really dislike Yelp, but felt compelled to review Valor because obviously only dissatisfied people use this antiquated review tool. Valor has been good to us. I've moved nearly all of my medical care here. I volunteer at the hospital, too, and I see the dedication of the hands-on staff and the executives. After decades of poor management, the current team is making great strides to serve the surrounding rural area. No one will see this review...but I'm happy to increase the rating by a bit with my four stars. I'd give 4.5 if I could. read more

Cannot recommend for primary care, urgent care or ER care. Have had bad experiences with all these. Ongoing problems with filling prescriptions at correct pharmacy, accuracy of prescriptions, wrong doses, wrong medications. Valor currently unwilling to listen to patient's experiences, suggestions, or reporting problems with prescriptions. In past there were doctors and staff willing to work with patients to fix some of these problems. Most recently, received the wrong 'branded' medication. Valor medical staffer said was generic for one ordered. The medication received was not generic but a branded concentrated form of the standard medication. Patient could have been harmed or died if the dose amount was taken. The listed dose was for the standard not concentrated product. Patient spent hours with insurance company and two pharmacies to back track the problem after receiving letter from insurance Co. that the medication ordered was not in their formulary. The medication that should have been ordered was definitely in the formulary. The insurance sent a onetime 'complementary' box of the medication but would not fill future orders. While trying to explain to Valor the problems, and potential corrective action, staffer told patient that patient was being difficult and the medication WAS correct, only a generic, and the doctor WANTS the dose as noted to be taken by patient. Patients are not stupid. Patients do not always follow medical directions blindly. To do so can be dangerous as in this situation. When patient asked staffer to just listen for a minute to the problem, staffer said "NO. If you are unhappy with Valor......." Patient is now expecting Valor to terminate medical care of patient for patient speaking out regarding a problem. It is important for everyone, especially 'old' people, to stay on top of their own healthcare. Learn about your medical needs, types of medications, side effects and most definitely speak up when you suspect a problem. Stand your ground don't let 'professionals' bully you or treat you as if you know nothing. read more

This place is beyond pathetic. I went in there four times begging to see a doctor because I could barely walk. Each time I was told I could not see a doctor but they could get me into urgent care. Each doctor that was doing urgent care did absolutely nothing for me. On one visit I was so bad off that I had to be wheeled into the exam room in a wheelchair. The doctor doing urgent care that day was their resident pediatrician who demonstrated her compassionate bedside manner to me by snottily saying "what do you want from me!?" I wouldn't take a dog to a doctor with such an attitude let alone a child. My fifth encounter with them I called them up and again asked to see a doctor, they gave me an appointment but then when I showed up they denied me seeing a doctor because I wasn't "established". That is a bunch of crap, when you give someone an appointment you are obligated to keep it. I never did get out of them what they thought urgent care could do for me, I guess they thought they could put a bandage on it and make it all better. Actually I don't know what they thought. I have never seen that many incompetent boobs under one roof in my life! read more

Did something to my knee so went in for an X-ray after visiting primary care. Very small hospital but super pleasant front desk and no wait for imaging I'm waiting for insurance for updates soine MRI so I was glad to hear they have MRI as well read more

First of all this hospital is awesome because I was born here. Walter Knox is an interesting place. I have come here to visit family members who are sick. I have also come to visit because there are people who I know who work there or have worked there. I would say that all of my relatives in the medical industry have worked here. The hospital is old so it is a little surreal when you walk down the hallways of the hospital. They also have this area where people can go to pray. It looks like a mini chapel. The staff is nice; they are super incredible. They are very attentive and caring. This comes in handy when a patient such as myself is stressing out over a bleeding finger. They know what to do and what to say. The one thing that I do not appreciate about Walter Knox is the fact that they sold out to St. Alphonsus hospital. I feel very sorry for this merge since I have a great deal of experience with that company. It's hard to say if the attentive nature of this hospital will remain. I only hope that I don't find out. read more

Some of the staff are nice, the others are just rude. It is NOT the kind of place to have a bad attitude. I understand the long hours and the patients, but they chose that profession to care for people, why be so rude and unprofessional about it. The male doctor was very adamant about wanting to do a pelvic exam on my teen age daughter. We went in for appendicitis. We were there for over 3 hours, and he kept running different exams. After the 3rd time of being told NO, we will not be doing a pelvic exam, they released us. Then, the hospital told my insurance company to put the money towards my deductible instead of towards the bill. So I ended up with a huge bill from Valor. They wanted a huge amount of money monthly towards the bill, or wanted to hand you over to someone else to pay the bill and charge me $700 on top of my huge bill. Not my kind of hospitality. I will NOT, be going back, unless I have no choice. read more
