HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT! My husband and I made a reservation for 7pm and requested to sit outside. When we arrived we saw an empty table for two on the porch which we thought was for us. When we went to the hostess she proceeded to take us to their "back patio". The "patio" is a completely enclosed room with glass garage doors -all closed. We said that we had requested to sit outside when we made our reservation and asked if we could have the empty table out front, we were told that was reserved for someone at 730 who booked on Open Table. She then said we could wait for one of the tables to open our front. Why couldn't we have the open table that was supposed to be ours? Why did they give our table to someone who booked online when we called and spoke to someone? Why were we asked to wait 30 min for a table when there was an empty one that wasn't going to be filled for 30 more minutes? The hostess asked the manager/owner if we could be seated and he could not have been more RUDE. He basically accused us of lying and said he can see our reservation and we requested to sit out back. I'm pretty sure I remember a conversation I had two hours ago... maybe someone wrote it down wrong, maybe he is just rude and not concerned about keeping customers? After his unbelievably rude treatment we left. Don't waste your time or money here. We walked across the street to El Vago. I highly recommend! Great food and attentive friendly service! read more

Really disappointed in my recent visit to Vallini. My family and I went on the Sunday of July 4th weekend after I had told them how delicious the food was (was there one time before). All four of our meals were incorrect- chicken was undercooked, no capers or lemon in chicken picatta, risotto without crabmeat, and a steak (one of their specials) that was unseasoned, missing cheese and with raw Brussel sprouts on the side. Overall horrible. When approaching the waitress, she informed us the chef was not working and the "griller" was doing all of the cooking. We didn't feel safe eating the meals since the majority of the food was undercooked. Overall disappointed with the entire experience and wish I took my family to a more equipped and nicer restaurant. read more

Had reservations for Fathers Day, sat for twenty minutes hoping waitress would at least bring us water. Only two tables near us that waitress had to serve and they were on dessert so she wasn't very busy. Every time she talked to them she would glance over at us snd keep walking. I couldn't take the rudeness of the waitress any longer just for her to acknowledge us that we finally decided to leave. My husband explained the situation to the hostess but it didn't seem to matter so we left and had a great Italian dinner down the street from them. They won't ever see us again, I didn't care much for their sparce, high priced menu anyway. Plenty of other really good Italian restaurants to choose from so their loss not ours. read more

This was my second time there. The first time it was not very crowded, and our waitress was great. The food was good too. This time, however, we ran into some issues. We arrived on time for our reservation for 4, and despite the place having many empty tables where we would be comfortable, the young man who seated us directed us to a table right next tot he front door and across from the kitchen. He told us the other tables were "reserved," as if those people somehow had a choice of tables we clearly did not. As others have noted, it's very loud. This was made worse by the folks in the kitchen, who seemed to pride themselves in creating crashes that were frequent and loud enough to be assumed deliberate. Our waitress was nice, but largely absent, leaving our empty plates on the table for too long. As for the food, it was mediocre. I had chicken parm, which any pizza place can make respectably. Mine spent too much time in the fryer and was overcooked, and the sauce was not sweet enough for my taste. Another in our party had salmon that was "okay," and two others had gnocchi that was bland and included some kind of unidentified meat. We won't be heading back there. read more

This past Saturday, I stopped for a meal at the recommendation of a few people. I had heard that rhis place was excellent and offered great food. Service was great. The waitress was very attentive. However, I was disappointed in the meal. I ordered chicken parm. It had two chicken breasts. The first one was fine but when I went to cut the second breast, it was raw on the inside. I let the waitress know and she was mortified and very apologetic. She offered me another chicken parm but the raw chicken did me in. She took it off the check. Although service was good. We made reservations for our 23rd anniversary at Vallini on July 18th. This was our third time at Vallini and we enjoyed it each time!! The staff was very friendly, greeting us as we entered the restaurant. Our waitress, Olivia was very friendly and prompt during our visit on 7/18. The food is amazing and I highly recommend the appetizers! The grilled brussel sprouts melt in your mouth and the charcuterie board is my favorite! We had dinner here to celebrate my wife's birthday and it was a delicious experience. We began by splitting a caprese salad and the mozzarella imported from Italy could have been the best I've ever tasted. Served along with fat juicy tomatoes, tangy basil and a balsamic drizzle and we were off to an amazing start. My wife's steak was succulent and prepared perfectly. The accompanying risotto and mushroom medley was a tasty compliment. My daughter and I each ordered the chicken. She had hers with the risotto, which she loved. As my side, I chose the home made angel hair pasta, which was way delicious. We split a slice of double chocolate cake (thanks for the three forks!) and enjoyed cappuccino for dessert. There is lots of free parking right near the restaurant and a great place to spend Saturday evening! Unfortunately the service was a "tad" slow, but the food was so delicious I'm keeping it at "5". We, along with another couple, visited Vallinis for th first time on 9/23/17. We have frequented several restaurants in Skippack; having had great dinners at them all. That ended on 9/23/17. Long story short- the veal scallopini was tasteless, the seafood dish contained very few pieces of seafood; mussels contain only what can be described as pea sized mussels, clams that were even smaller, no crabmeat to be found and nothing else, all on a bed of subpar linguini. For the price of this BYOB, we certainly will not be going back. read more

We are local to Skippack and went to this restaurant for the first time this past Saturday, November 4. There were four of us and while the food was very good - we had the meat and cheese platter, flatbread, lobster ravioli, risotto with scallops and shrimp, and the rib eye. The portions were nice and the food was delicious. However, the noise level was absolutely excruciating. It was so loud, that it was difficult to hear each other across the table. In fact, our waitress didn't hear one of our orders properly and we received an incorrect item. The other problem was the gnats. They were everywhere. Vallini called me immediately to make sure I didn't order a family meal by mistake ( I had told her when I called that I wasn't computer savy). Our table had a mixed review, two of us loved our dinner and two of us did not. Looking through the posted photos I figured out one of the issues. Instead of Orecchiette pasta being served with our shrimp and scallops we received a much denser Conchiglie pasta. Couple this with tiny bay scallops and shrimp, both of which could have benefited from a quick sauté in a pan with butter and garlic for color and flavor, and we had a dish that had a very unappetizing look. Pasta was dense and chewy and the pesto was very bland. We did tell the waitress who apologized for the dish and provided complimentary dessert and coffee, which was very nice. But based on other reviews I hope they become more consistent with their flavors, we had a similar flavor issue with their appetizers...one was flavorful (calamari) and one needed a little something more (Bufala Mozzarella- balsamic dressed arugula or Fruity olive oil?) The place is very cute and rustic but I agree it's also very, very loud when full...which was a little off putting when we first walked in. The space is small and loud if there is a crowd. We started with the Aracini (Fried risotto ball stuffed with braised boar, served with marinara) which had really nice flavor and even my picky 14yo. son thought they were tasty. The Lobster Ravioli were well stuffed and very creamy tasting, an excellent dish. The Pork Chop was recommended by our waitress and was on point. Thick, Juicy, nice light char on the outside and perfectly tender on the inside. The smashed potatoes were served with grilled asparagus and were lick the plate delicious !! My son got the Pasta Al Forno, but since he is so picky, he did not attempt to eat it and we had it wrapped to go. The Salmon Grigliato was a nice sized portion and the mushroom risotto with the cream sauce was a hit. Really wanted to like this place. It was definitely inviting. Service was good, if a little slow, understandable because the place was packed. Noise level was a little too much and then it just got too warm. But on to the food, nice menu, reasonable prices. I started with the grilled vegetables,squash, onions, asparagus and carrots. Just bland. Partner had the meatballs, again bland and the tomato sauce was overcooked and bland. It is the end of July, so I ordered the Caprese salad and added the shrimp. Tomatoes were pink, spongy and cut into wedges, as was the mozzarella, one lonely basil leaf and a miserly drizzle of olive oil and balsamic. The cheese was good, but would have benefited by a closer relationship with some basil The shrimp were very good, tender and sweet. If those were the only tomatoes available, they should have removed the dish from the menu. Partner had the chicken with the same grilled vegetables, again bland. Highlight for him was the side of risotto. So there were a few bright spots. Really need to taste some pasta before I make a final decision. The Italian accented waiter noted that it was homemade. Wish he would have cleared the unused wine glasses. We were a large party and could have used the table room. As we departed, I realized what was missing; the garlic, the herbs. Not only from the food, but that inviting smell of an Italian restaurant, that makes your mouth water from the parking lot. We recently dined here on a Saturday evening with friends. What a great spot in Skippack! Love that this BYO and not a large place. The food is authentic, with the ingredients sourced directly from Italy. We started off with a cheese & meat board, calamari and a flatbread. All were delicious. I especially appreciated the waiter's offer to let us sample the cheese before ordering for our board. His recommendation for the cheese of the day was spot on and very enjoyable. I chose the rigatoni porcini tartufo and it was excellent! My husband had a taste and couldn't stop eating it! He chose the fileja on ndjua e salsiccia and he enjoyed it, but he preferred my dish over his. We opted to skip dessert because we were too full from dinner. Had dinner for two tonight. Had crostini and olive appetizers, salmon and risotto entrees. Plus cappuccino and espresso. We were very impressed. Server was very friendly and maître de saw our "date" designation on our Open Table reservation so he seated us in a "romantic" table. Salmon had a flavorful crispy outside and moist flaky inside. Risotto was delicious. My wife thought the crostini was best she has had. We enjoyed the food that reminds us of trips to Italy. Be warned, it has a hard floor so it can be noisy especially with guests happily enjoying their dinners and conversation. Went to Vallini with friends last weekend. We were seated in the outdoor section which is closed off with windowed garage doors. The area has a large heater on the wall which must not have been working well. It was quite cold in the area and my husband and several others at our table kept their outdoor jackets on during dinner. The food was excellent. I had salmon and husband had lasagna. Both were delicious. Service was ok. Our food took a long time to come, but the restaurant was quite busy. The outdoor area was also quite loud. I suspect that the windowed garage doors echo the noise, making it a bit hard to talk with our friends, but we managed. I would definitely go again, but might ask to be seated inside. read more
