We came for Mothers Day as a group of 6. The restaurant is pretty big and they do have cute outdoor seating that gives picnic vibes. They often have a band playing at the bar so it was nice to enjoy the weather and listen to the music. The garlic knots have a good texture. They come out warm, the outside is crispy and the inside is nice and soft. However, I didn't think it had much garlic flavor. I got the sausage orecchiette. The noodles were al dente and I felt that the toppings of broccolini, tomatos, and sausage paired well. I would have preferred if the sausage was more thinly sliced or ground rather than sliced so it was easier to eat. The sauce is also very thin and watery. Overall, it was a light pasta dish that was not special at all. The portions are generous though and we had leftovers. Interestingly, it tasted better on reheat. Service was overall quick and everyone was nice and respectful.

A gem in lovely town called Skippack. We were very lucky that day - nice weather and good music at the outdoor bar. Food was amazing as always. Service was great. We can't wait to go back.

Came here without a reservation last Wednesday night and entered a very quiet restaurant. We were seated very quickly handed menus by a very nice server. The complimentary bread knots also came out quickly and were warm and delicious. We ordered calamari to start and were given a generous portion size and great flavor! The pastas also came out quickly and were piping hot. For the amount of food you receive with your meals, the prices were very fair. The pasta became two additional meals for me and the leftovers were just as good! The Bolognese had a great flavor and I loved how saucy the pasta was in general! The only negative from this experience was that the table was pretty wobbly and very small for us three to sit. When all of our plates were on the table, there was not much room anything else and we had to be careful where placing our drinks.

I was visiting the area last year and looking for a spot to meet an old friend. He recommended this place, knowing I love Italian/pasta. We arrived for a late lunch, around 2pm and it was empty, so we had our pick of the tables and opted for the outdoor/porch area- luckily it wasn't too cold outside. Our server was friendly and attentive, brought our menus and water immediately. I went with the penne florentine and a glass of rose while my friend ordered a panini. We both enjoyed our meals and had a great time catching up. The pasta portion was huge so I had leftovers to finish later at the hotel! Decent price and value, would recommend if you are in the area.

Dust on the railing of the seating area.

Walked in at 9 PM on a Friday and the restaurant door says they close at 11 PM. The staff was running around trying to do their end of night work and ignoring customers. The dishes we got were bland at best and lacked any flavor. The drink I ordered from the bar had things floating in it and when I complained the waitress acted like it was my fault. Don't look too close at anything as the cleanliness of this place is bad. Skippack restaurants were great prior to Covid but now it seems mediocrity is the new norm. The staff spent more time bullshitting at the register than waiting on customers . I overhead them complain people were still eating as they wanted to finish and leave. Hire a manager and bring some flavor back to your food. Let's strive for a B as a minimum.

Food was very good and so was the service! The menu items appear to be priced fairly as well.

Overall, The Jockey is solidly average when it comes to food, service, and ambiance. Nothing outstanding, but nothing terrible either. Where The Jockey truly shines, though, is its Happy Hour value, which is easily the best in the area. Drinks are a great deal compared to nearby spots: half off all beers on tap, plus discounted house wine and cocktails. The Happy Hour appetizer selection is larger than most, and the quality is surprisingly good. Buck-a-shuck oysters! Only one variety, but for a dollar, you can't complain. Bonus points for offering Happy Hour on weekends, which is rare. If you're in the area during Happy Hour, it's absolutely worth stopping in.

My reviews are different. I do not announce myself or tell anyone. I am here to do a review!!…read more It was my birthday week, and unfortunately, my Tesla had been vandalized. True to my nature as a "prior proper planner," I already had an appointment scheduled in West Chester, so I headed down to get the repairs underway. While I waited, I decided to find some local eats. A quick Google search led me to The Jockey just outside of Philadelphia. The reviews mentioned it was a family-owned joint, and the decor looked incredibly inviting. The aesthetic actually reminded me of The Polo Bar in NYC; it has that same sophisticated, equestrian charm. Personally, I love horses--I know all the horses in the world, and they know me--and I know the horses. so I was eager to check it out. My mother picked me up from the dealership, and we "galloped" our way down to the restaurant. The Food I was surprised to find the place packed at 12:30 PM on a Tuesday, but I assumed we had just hit the peak lunch rush. We started with the calamari, my mother ordered a sandwich, and I opted for the salmon with drunken noodles. Honestly, I think the chef in the back was more "drunk" than the noodles. * The Salmon: It arrived super crisp and borderline burnt. * The Calamari: Overcooked, greasy, and wet--it felt like it hadn't seen a strainer or a paper towel since leaving the fryer. * The Sauce: The marinara was watery, almost as if the back-of-house was running low and decided to stretch it with water. The Verdict The only saving grace was the aesthetic. The decor is lovely, and they have a very inviting event space in the basement. However, you can't eat the wallpaper. * Food: 2/5 (A hard pass on the kitchen's execution.) * Service: 3/5 (The staff never checked on us while we were eating.) * Location/Convenience: 4/5 (Close to everything in a great area.) I likely won't be visiting this place again. I'm genuinely surprised this is a local favorite in such an upscale area--perhaps the locals just haven't ventured out enough to know what they're missing.
