Strangest encounter. Walked in asked for a cut pricing lady indoors said prices are on the wall . I asked if I could get a blow out after the cut. She said no they don't do blow outs. Im looking at the board blow out price of $30 and up, I was interested in being seen as I see no one else in there. She leaves to the back a gentleman walks in and she clearly knows him she sits him right away. The most inexpensive place to get your hair cut in the valley. When Supercuts is charging $45+ now I realized I needed to look to more mom and pop salons and I'm glad I did because Valley Cuts is the best budget salon I can find in LA. Not only did she cut my hair well but she charged me as a short haircut instead of a long one. Some salons consider hair at the shoulders "long" because it's right at the border of short and long but she was very honest and gave me a fair price which I'm thankful for. read more

We went to see Anna on a recommendation from a friend after I complimented her son's haircut. We were looking for more of a "stylist" than a barber since my son is wearing his hair longer. Fiona is the best. She has been cutting my curly hair and my mom's curly hair for a while now and we always come back to her. Horrible customer service. I called two hours in advance to make an appointment for 1PM. I ensured I made an appointment because i was leaving work to get a haircut and was limited on time. I arrived a few minutes before 1 and was ignored upon arrival. After a few minutes a lady came out and said i should have a seat and that they would be done with a client in 10 minutes. I waited 25 min with no response from anyone working there. Mind you there were 2 hair stylists sitting doing nothing on their phones. I usually am not the type of person that takes their time to write a review...but I have to for this place and for the hair stylist that took care of me. I came in with the idea of wanting curtain bangs, I had no inspirations of any images that replicated what I wanted... and yet Amanda was so patient with me and so kind, she proceeded to do some long curtain bangs at first. Later on, I was not so satisfied with my look, so I then called back to see if I could come back in and trim it down some more... Amanda took me back in, trimmed my bangs again... Thank you Amanda! I'm totally satisfied and I'm happy that I find my hairstylist finally after a long time. Amanda is great and I'm happy with a new hair cut. The manager was so friendly as well. It was the first time that I've been there and 100% recommend. Need I say anything at all? Just look at the damn picture. I wanted deep layers with a sharp v shape in the back. Simple enough you would think no? I didn't realize how bad it was until I got home because my hair was slicked back at the salon. My 9 year old niece could have done a better job! Extremely disappointed as this was supposed to be one of the birthday gifts to myself to bring a little life back in my hair. Welp, I guess you get what you pay for. But my recent trip for my eyebrows were terrible.. the newest member has left my thick shaped eyebrows... uneven, unshaped and extremely short and thin. Even though I had told her not to fix the front.. she went on a downward angle giving me a look from the 1920's.... She completely butchered my right eyebrow; not even makeup can fix this! Disappointed. Old lady went too low cutting my side burns and end up messing up my beard. I was asking for a 0 tapper hair cut and she went too low on the side burns part and shaved most of my beard. So she then tries to fix it by trying to even the other side out. Turns out she went lower than the other side. I used to like this place a lot but messing up my beard is a big no no! Decided to give it a try after I read all the positive yelp reviews. Unfortunately I did not have a positive experience. As soon as I walked in a tall blond lady was sitting on a styling chair. I said hi and she gave me a questionable hi. Like "hi?" She didn't ask what I was there for, I had to tell her I wanted a trim. Overall, I felt like they didn't want my business, so I left, won't be back ever. Bad customer service. If you don't have people skills maybe you shouldn't be at the front, or maybe you just shouldn't be in the service sector. So happy to have found Valley Cuts! I took my son in for a cut. I asked if they could cut mine too and they fit me in. They cut my son and I both at the same time and we were in and out in about 20 minutes! The salon is clean and has a good feel. My son saw Sylvia, who gave him an excellent cut! Ana cut mine and she listened to what I asked for and checked with me before doing anything. She was personable and easy to talk to as well. We left very happy. I have only but positive things to say about the place. I don't get many too haircuts , as I have curly hair., but I like to change things up once in awhile for a job interview or so. Now the place back home is semi high end and charges 30 dollars for men's haircut. This place charges 17 dollars and is of the same quality. Stylist Ann is incredibly talented and has the chops to cut. I showed her a pic of exactly what I wanted, and she was able to recreate it verbatim like a true artist . They fully admitted to completely messing her hair and still charged her, the only solution they could offer was to return in two days and "see" if they could fix it. Was in the area and needed a haircut while waiting for traffic to die down in the freeway. Yelped this spot, and decided to check it out. Called first, asked if it's walk in or appointment only - they accept walk ins. Perfect. Walked in. 4 ahead of me. One receptionist, 2 hair stylists. I had the pleasure to get my hair cut by Pamela. I asked for a mid-taper on the sides, size half, and a slight trim on top. Told her I'm going for a pompadour look with a little bit of a combover. She NAILED it perfectly. Educated me on correct technique when applying pomade from fingers to the roots of the hair (I used my palms) and showed me how my hair could lay better when pushed forward rather than back. Something barbers don't take into consideration whatsoever. Ended the experience with a hair wash, blended/faded the rest and trimmed the top. Simply amazing. Accepts debit card. I would come back next time I'm in the valley and in need of a haircut. Highly recommended! read more

I've been here a few times now and overall they're great! My first experience (several years ago) was a nightmare, but I went in the next day to see Ana and she fixed my hair perfectly! Pamela is also great - she's cut my hair twice, but that was before the pandemic, so I'm not sure if she is still there. All my cuts since the first one have made up for the really negative first experience. My last cut was a couple of weeks ago, and while unfortunately I didn't catch the stylist's name, she was also excellent, took her time but wasn't *slow* - just thorough. I had 2.5 years (maybe even more) of growth because of the pandemic, so she had to cut off probably 5-6 inches total. I could tell while she was working that she was making sure my layers were even. I appreciate that. Only thing I wish I had asked about was trying to take some of the bulk out of my hair because it's really long and thick, but obviously that's on me, not her. Maybe next time I'll remember. As for prices - $28 for a (women's) hair cut is a STEAL in Los Angeles, so be sure to tip your stylist well if you're happy with the results. If you're not happy though, talk to Ana because she will absolutely take care of it. I will add that I hope the pricing of a "women's" cut is more about hair length and requested cut than someone's gender. Maybe the owner can confirm. read more

I came for a trim last month and I left with a butchered haircut. If you are getting a blunt trim then this place is fine. The woman who cut my hair trimmed a layer but basically cut one length in the front and kept the length in the back. A modern mullet? The saddest thing is I paid $75 for a wash, cut and blow dry.
