My son got his hair cut there today and I got to say it was a horrible experience. The hairdresser claimed we were an hour late for our appointment but I am 100% sure they just wrote it down wrong when they took the appointment. Then the cut was so rushed my sons haircut was horrible. It's uneven and done so poorly we are going to have to get it fixed elsewhere. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

So, that's the difference between a regular barbershop & a kids salon! Now I see. Unlike you & me, kids they're not the barber obedient type. So, when I used to take my 2 & half years old to regular places, no matter how hard they'd try, my son wouldn't stay still. So it'd be hard for them to cut the way we'd love. And he'd be scared & crying all the time. Gladys talked with my son for few mins & brought out her magical toy boxes. And she had my son under her spell. My son didn't bother for a min & everything was done within few mins. I'm glad that I chose to drive from Koreatown to Sherman Oaks for this place. They have few free retro arcades for the dads. Just FYI, they are completely booked out and haven't updated their advertising. I called earlier in the week, never got a call back, got a call now and was quickly advised that they aren't taking any new appointments. Could barely get a word in in edgewise. Such a shame, was looking forward to bringing my child here for his first haircut but now I'm glad I didn't because even before going in person I could tell their professionalism is lacking. Long story short, lady cut my daughter's hair worse than her younger sister would have cut it. Didn't realize just how bad until after we left. I had asked about it looking uneven but the lady got super defensive and said it's perfectly straight and I'll be able to tell once dry. Called later and said it's still horrible so they said ok come back. Went back. I was being very polite and asking basic questions about why she was wetting only one side of my kid's hair to fix the error. The lady lost it. Said she won't cut my daughter's hair. She said I asked too many questions and she knows what she's doing. She didn't. Another lady tried to step in and apologize for the mean lady but I'd had enough by then and didn't trust that they could actually fix the problem (she was only gonna wet one side and cut!!!!!). Felt bad for my daughter but we went home and I fixed it myself. read more

Ok, I know this is a kids salon and some of you might be thinking, what is this grown man doing at this place. Well, long story short, my ex GF was my stylist and we broke up. That left me with no one to cut my hair and wandering from salon to salon, not really vibing any of them. After a while I called a friend and asked where he got his hair cut. He told me he has been seeing Denise at Young Attitudes Salon since he was a kid. His glowing referral had me going against my better judgement and I finally made an appointment. I am so glad i did (Thanks Matt W.) So during school hours the ladies here take adult customers. Dont mind the kids decorations and toys strewn about, because the stylists at Young Attitudes can get down. I met with Denise and showed her some pics of the style i wanted. 20 minutes later, I was a new man with a new haircut. I have received so many compliments on my new cut that its made me feel like a billion dollars! Prices here are very fair and there is plenty of street parking on the side streets north of Ventura. What a great little find! I brought my two kids here, age 6 and 9. They have arcades, snacks, and toys. The two ladies who cut their hair were so friendly and kind to the kids. Chatted with them and listened to what they wanted. Both cuts were pretty straightforward, but they were very patient. This just might be our new go to. There was no hair pulling or head pushing or anything that forced the kids in anyway. They got shampooed first, which they both loved! read more

I have taken both my 3 and 5 year old daughters to this salon and was THRILLED with both the service and the results. We have been to some of the other the kid-focused salons (wont name any names) in S.O. and Studio CIty and felt that they were very crowded and noisy and overwhelming. The poeople at this salons are SUPER SWEET, friendy but relaxed and laid back and dont have that in your face approach I have felt at some of the other salons. They have games, snacks and activities if the kids are interested but they are also so sweet and engaging with the kids that they almost dont need anything to keep them busy. ALSO, they wash their hair included in the price!!! Some of the other salons either dont offer it or you have to pay $5-7 extra which is insane. My daughter was sad for about 5 seconds that she didnt get glitter in her hair, but then she got a lollypop and a balloon and walked out with a fabulous haircut and a huge smile on her face! We will be coming back here for all of the kids cuts. read more

This place is the best! I took my 7 year old daughter yesterday for the first time and Gladys did an amazing job with her haircut. My daughter was a bit nervous but they gave her a box of toys to distract her while she got her hair cut so that helped. & when I mentioned how much my daughter loves braids Gladys gave her a couple of quick french braids with some hair bows that looked adorable. My daughter loved it and i was one happy mommy. Plus free snacks, water, and arcade games?! what more could you ask for. Will definitely be coming back. read more

I have been going here for most of my life (now I'm 24). They always do an amazing job and always know what I want! I have had different ladies here cut my hair and some have moved to different salons but I have always stayed loyal to Young Attitudes. I took both my 2 year old and 4 year old here. Gladys and Jenn were amazing they were so sweet to both kids and very professional. My son was a bit nervous at first but they have a box of toys and lollypops, cartoons playing on the television. Both haircuts were perfect my daughter even got cute braids with her haircut. That means I have followed her from all the salons she has been in and this one is definitely the best. From seeing her for so many years Pam just knows my hair which makes all my haircuts great. I know that it is a salon for kids but it is also great for adults. They really try to keep their customers happy with great prices and great customer service. I made an appointment to have my hair cut and blown dry. In all the years of going to hair salons, I have never had a stylist say he/she would not blow dry and flat iron my hair. I have very curly hair & it's pretty imperative to see that the cut is even once it has been blown dry and flat ironed. So when I do straighten it and blow it dry, am I supposed to touch up a haircut I paid someone else to do??? Lazy stylist that does not have a notion about customer service!!! read more

They color, cut, entertain, accomodate, feed and are just the nicest people you'll ever meet. They've taken me from long dark hair to short very blond hair with many stages inbetween. I took my daughter here today for her first haircut. She admitted to being a bit nervous beforehand. But when she saw the play house and jars of pretzels and licorice, she settled right in. I was worried that her tangled, curly hair was going to present some challenges. But her stylist Gladys was warm and patient. She gave my daughter a cute cut, while my daughter happily looked through a box of plastic toys. The ladies here have been doing this a while. So they know their stuff and know how to deal with kids. This is a salon that caters to everyone. They are wonderful with children and it is totally enjoyable watching the interaction of the stylists and the little ones getting their first haircuts. They even get a videotape of the session for mom and dad. However, it is not just a salon for children. I have been going there for over ten years because I get the best hair treatment I have ever had. I'm always getting compliments on the cut and my highlights are beautiful. Denise does everything to accommodate her clients and the salon experience itself, which I always hated prior to Young Attitudes, is really fun for me.
