When I got there, vet techs were waiting for me. Some of them took her back, and one took my story on what happened, and her symptoms. I had to call Pet Poison Line so they could tell the vets how to treat her-that's fine-and they wanted to do a full workup on her since she is 12. I said that's fine, that's what insurance is for. It was about 11pm when I was sent home to rest while they took care of her. At about two, they called me to tell me that she survived the nightshade poisoning, but they had found a thicker spot in her intestines in the x-ray, and they wanted to do follow-up images in the morning, so I got another estimate for them to keep her til the next day and run another round of x-rays and do an ultrasound. She stayed and I went back to sleep. In the morning, a very kind vet whose name I don't remember called me and went over what is happening and why that spot could be there. She gave me advice on how to proceed after today. She asked what food my cat eats so they could give it to her there too. I was kept in the loop the whole time from when I got there to when I picked her up at 4:30pm. It set me back about $3500. Thank God for pet insurance. But considering all they did and the overnight stay, not terrible. My cat's idiocy may have saved her bacon if we caught something early, but so did True Care's thoroughness.

Calls are rarely returned, communication is almost nonexistent, and getting something as simple as a prescription refill has turned into a nightmare. My dog depends on his medication to eat properly, yet I was told I now need to pay for another doctor's appointment just because the previous veterinarian left over a year ago -- something they never bothered to properly communicate to pet owners. How is that acceptable? To make matters worse, they don't even have appointments available until mid-July. So what exactly are patients supposed to do in the meantime? Wait until their pets are seriously suffering just to be seen and get medication they already rely on? There seems to be a complete lack of urgency, compassion, and accountability. Pet owners trust clinics with the wellbeing of their animals, and this experience has been beyond frustrating and honestly heartbreaking

On December 1, 2025, my pup looked at me, and I knew it was time. Our family had called upon Dr…read more Gonzalez before, so there was no question in my mind who to call again. Unlike our previous experience where we were able to book ahead of time and plan for our pup's passing, this was a circumstance where our baby needed immediate services -- his body was failing. Once I saw our senior 13-yr old pup was telling me it was okay, I called Dr. Gonzalez at 7pm. She was at our home by 10pm. Our pup had been sick for several years, and in that last week, our primary vet had already told us his health was declining, so we at least knew the end was near. And I had already mentally prepared to be strong and let him go when he needed to -- so I had Dr. Gonzalez's number on hand. We live in an apartment building, so we reserved a spot for her in our lot as close as possible to an exit. She came upstairs to our home, and she had brought all her equipment. I had already imagined how I wanted this experience to go for my once in a lifetime soul pup. I sat on his favorite place on the sofa, and I had him in my lap. Dr. Gonzalez gave me a pee pad to wrap around him within the blanket understanding there could be an accident in the process as his body released his spirit. I had a candle lit. I had soft music playing. We had low lighting on to honor what was about to happen. Dr. Gonzalez was also super accommodating to our 2nd puppy who was curious about her and wondering what was happening to his big brother. She didn't shoo him away -- she invited us to keep the puppy around so he can know his big brother was about to pass on. She gave us time to speak to Nuxx, love on him, and then let him go. Then, it finally happened. And Dr. Gonzalez stepped out of our apartment for awhile, giving our little family time to grieve, sob, and hold our baby close. Our puppy sniffed him too and said his goodbyes. Then she came back, and she asked us if we wanted to be the ones to carry him out or she was happy to do so. My husband carried him, myself and our puppy followed along -- felt like a procession down our apartment hallway. We got to Dr. Gonzalez's car, and we gently placed our baby's body in her car, and said our goodbyes again. Then...it was done. Throughout the experience, Dr. Gonzalez was so incredibly supportive, gentle, understanding, and patient. What else can you ask for when such a heartbreaking thing is occurring? When a spirit is literally fading in your arms? I am still not over losing him, but at least I know we gave him the most peaceful send-off we could: in his own home, in our arms, surrounded by so much love. If / when we need to go through again, I will continue to call on Dr. Gonzalez. RIP Nuxx.

Not only are the prices extremely predatory-- charging hundreds of dollars for each visit where the vet only examines the pet for 5 minutes, after the vet assistants do most of the real work first -- but we felt like most of the staff, including the vets themselves, and the front desk, were unempathetic and uncaring. When the Ivy League-degreed vet talked to us (for, truly, less than 5 minutes for an appointment that cost several hundred dollars), all they did was use very big words that surely they knew that any person without veterinarian training or medical training would not understand. We are people who love literature and big words, but it wasn't just the words themselves, it was the vet's entire demeanor. They basically told us that our pet had cancer, except they did not use the word cancer, they used a medical term we did recognize, that means a kind of cancer, and then they weren't patient or welcoming when we asked them to explain more about it to us, continuing to use extremely obscure medical terminology that most people wouldn't understand, and making us feel belittled and disrespected in the process. When we asked if the cancer was going to be a concern and if we should treat it, the vet's response was that the average lifespan of our pet's species was only going to be 2-4 more years, anyway-- implying that our pet was probably just going to die eventually in a few years anyway, so we shouldn't even try to address the issue of the cancer! I was shocked for weeks afterwards at how heartless and apathetic they were, as if they didn't care about our pet at all. That didn't stop them from still charging us hundreds of dollars for a different medication though, that did not actually provide any lasting healing or treatment to our pet. The front desk sends out form emails that aren't personalized at all while pretending to be, and if you try to ask an actual question, they respond quickly with a form response almost definitely written by AI, but if that doesn't answer your question, then they just completely ignore you for days or even weeks after you try to follow up. We felt so disrespected and mistreated after coming to this clinic several times, and we felt like we had wasted thousands of dollars of our hard-earned money. We in our family are modest people who have always struggled financially because a lot of us have disabilities, and we honestly don't have a lot of money, and using our money to take care of our pet is one of our top priorities that we do budget for. We felt like that money that we had worked so hard to save was totally wasted and disrespected at MASH Outpatient.

It was our first time within the ACCESS network so we did not know that the Cardiology Department was separate from Internal Medicine and the Emergency Department. We didn't know that there were so many varying departments. It didn't set in that this was a specialty clinic not a traditional veterinarian office (even though "specialty animal hospital" is literally in their name...haha). The Cardiology Department was on the second floor in a building shared with other companies. The office was clean and peaceful. The women at the front desk were kind and patient. They answered our questions and were helpful. We were seen quickly in the consultation room and I love that the nurse drew a cute little picture with cat ears and whiskers, and put our cat's name on the white dry erase board that was outside of the consultation room. She listened intently to our concerns as it had already been confirmed that the referring veterinarian had provided our cat's health records. We fully expected to wait a while for the doctor since we were about forty minutes early but about five minutes later Dr. Cole greeted us warmly with a team of onlookers (supporting doctors, maybe interns too not exactly sure). Dr. Cole was patient and explained the process for examining our cat's heart health. He answered our questions and took our fur baby for the testing. Around twenty minutes later he and his team returned with the results. He explained the prescription medicine that would be beneficial for our cat and gave further medical advice for our cat. I really appreciated the transparency and clarity around the results. I felt relieved to have such a warm, competent and friendly doctor handling the care for our fur baby. It wasn't cheap but it was worth it. Grateful to Dr. Steven Cole and ACCESS Pasadena!

My cat was taken to the back for hours with very little communication. I later learned the doctor had asked a nurse to tell me I could go home and wait, but no one ever told me. The overall attitude felt patronizing, and the "caring" atmosphere came across as performative when basic communication and follow-through were so poor. The medical care itself seemed reasonable, but the management and customer experience were extremely frustrating. I would not return unless I had no other option.

A lady came out not to greet us but told us that they close at 11PM due to new management and this is place is sold to another company. The doctor was seeing the last patient of the day and was referring us to another clinic in Glendora. We told her to please ask the doctor to take a look at our cat. We are willing to pay double the visiting fee. She went in for about 5 minutes and then another gentleman came out and told us the same thing. The clinic was sold and we close at 11PM now, etc. I took out my phone and showed him that it's 10:27PM. He said they wouldn't have enough time to do procedures to our cat. I told him our cat is old and he can't handle that much pressure anymore going to Glendora.. Long story short, this place has last call like some high end restaurant and I'm guessing everyone wants to get off work right at 11PM. Good luck with the "new management last call clinic". Getting off work is their first priority and not saving pets lives!

Post that phone call, my feelings about the way she handled herself Changed, and I was wary of her. Despite her assertion that I had no idea what I was looking for, I told her precisely what I was looking for: a bonded pair of cats that were a little older, say two years old or older. I had just lost my cat and my dog. I had also just lost my husband. All this within four months. I found my house too quiet without the pets and my husband, and that is why I reached out to Rhae. I wanted something to care for, a bonded pair of cats seemed exactly what I needed, having had cats all of my life. I never bad mouthed other rescue organizations, other than mentioning the southern golden retriever organization from whom my husband and I adopted two fabulous golden retrievers. While the dogs were great, the organization was not. Unfortunately, I am in very good company as pertains to being dissatisfied with that group, and I only mentioned it to Rhae when she specifically asked me if I had worked with other organizations. The forum of yelp asks for reviews. They do not ask for only positive reviews, they asked for both negative and positive, and I have given both, so on that issue and only that issue, Rhae was correct. The vetting of my house was not done by Rhae, it was done by the other woman, and we had a delightful time. Rhae is clearly a bitter and unhappy human being who calls anyone slightly older than she "elderly. "Indeed, I have let my hair go salt and pepper since Covid. That does not make me elderly. Indeed, I shared with Rhae that I had a major back surgery the year before, which is why kittens were out of the question because I could not bend as often as they might need me to. That does not make me elderly. That makes me aware of the limitations of my body and reluctant to jeopardize my health. That also makes me someone who wants to completely fulfill the needs of whatever cats I adopt. Don't believe Rhae's gaslighting. It is as fake as she is.
