The prices at this place have gotten so bad that my visit here yesterday will be my absolute last one. My daughter and I are avid thrifters and have been for many, many years. I thrift a large portion of my clothing, purses/accessories and decor - as does my daughter. The prices at the Valley Thrift (both locations I visit) are now much more than retail for brand new items. That is not an overstatement in the least. Yesterday, after visiting the location and buying nothing, my daughter and I went to the Old Navy store because she needed to pick up an online order. We found that the prices were so much cheaper for clothing on the sales/clearance racks for brand new, perfect condition clothing than at the Valley for used clothing. Less than half the price! The Valley had $18.99 on a pair of beat up, dirty sneakers. $42.99 on a broken wicker basket. It was less expensive when we shopped recently at Macy's than the Valley. Why shop the Valley Thrift when it's cheaper to go to TjMaxx or Target?! read more

Ummmm I'm obsessed. It can be overwhelming because there is so much and a lot of people. But if you take your time and look it is well worth it. Some items are super cheap and some are a bit more. This was our first time. Didn't realize everything was half off. I got probably five items or more and paid $11. Will definitely stop here anytime we are in the area. We got some mug sets for 50 cents. Lots of lamps and frames. You can definitely find things for any decor style. We had no wait to check out. So we were able to get through quickly. We stopped into Valley Thrift a lot because you never know what you're going to find in there. I would say it is more like 3.5 Stars. The place is always busy even if you go in mid morning or afternoon on a work day. As you make your way into the entrance you will see larger Furniture pieces either side of the door. They have jewelry, small items, clothes for men, clothes for women, clothes for children, and shoes for all. Prices are a bit higher than they used to be but you can still find a pair of jeans for $2.99 if you take the time to look. What I do not like about going here is the dressing room situation. They only let you take a few items in and with their prices you may have a lot more than a few items so it becomes painful getting to try on everything and there is also not enough of the dressing rooms. My suggestion is to wear clothes that you can put clothes on over and just use the mirrors that are found at the end of some of the aisles. Overall if you are looking for a bargain on something that is used or maybe you find one with tags then this is your spot. read more

One of the top thrift stores I've been too! This place is massive and I was impressed with how well kept it was with such a large inventory. My wife loves going to thrift stores and this store was one of our favorites. There are a few times where the items are overpriced but overall you'll still find great deals. The staff was pleasant and able to point you in the right direction of what you are looking for. There was this sweet older gentleman lining up the books who was very knowledgeable and gave some great recommendations. The majority of the items were in good condition and only needed a little TLC. Only two negative points.... some of the prices are to high for a thrift stores and it got hot in the buildings making it somewhat uncomfortable during in the middle of shopping. If you do early morning shopping or it's not the middle of a hot summer day I would think you'll be ok. read more

1 long gray hair customer who loiters all day, every single day. Saw him recording people secretly. Plus all of his friends who loiter every other day, all day. They pick up products to hold for other people then end up not even buying it. Prices are extremly high for second hand product. If you want a shirt for 30$ this is the place. They have a discounting system with colors now. 75% 50% 25% certain colors but they take out the products that are about to be discounted 75% before the day it gets to that color. Kind of shady. Get profiled often while shopping in the lanes. I believe guys think this is a place to pick up women or men. read more

This store has become so disappointing. This is a Thrift store!! Not a fancy retail store! The pricing is ludicrous! Once upon a time I loved this place. No More!! Their prices are crazy high. This is a business that resells completely DONATED merchandise so it can be recycled and reused. It's like they assume every shopper is finding diamonds they turn around and easily resell to make mad money. This just isn't true. The average shopper (#1) is a person of limited means. They need to thrift to help make ends meet and/or stretch their dollars. If shopper #2 finds a used clothing item that they buy then up-cyle with iron-ons, beads, etc because they have an outlet to resell it then that's a market they created themselves. It's called creative entrepreneurship. It isn't easy. I am shopper #3. I occasionally buy used home goods that I transform into something else. The thrifted home good piece was never part of the finished price because they used cost a few dollars. The biggest insult is that most of Valley's home good pieces are chipped and damaged or their pricing methods ruin the finish. They also no longer offer newspaper to wrap breakable items and they act put out if you ask for box. This is nuts!! In summary: Valley Thrift is a FOR PROFIT thrift store. They collect free merchandise and resell it for a profit. They claim to donate a portion of their sales. Goodwill Industries on the other hand is a non-profit organization that takes donated merchandise and resells it to offer services to the community. I know where I will spend my money in the future. I also know where I will donate my own unused clothing, shoes, household goods and furniture. read more

There was a couch recently in for $700, you can go buy a brand new couch similar to what they had from biglots for the same price or cheaper. After driving 127 for the Longest Yard Sale, we stopped off here since it was open until 7:30pm and it was still insanely crowded. Based on the crowds, I expected to stuff to be rock bottom cheap. But as I've discovered the last few years with thrift stores, their prices have risen while the quality, no doubt, has stayed the same. The only good thing is most thrift stores are in cleaner, better lit buildings. The store is well organized in fact one employee was creating more work for herself by moving all the crockpots from one shelf to the shelf below and leaving another shelf empty I presumed to bring out more appliances but I never saw that happen. If you love the thrill of the hunt, stop in this store but definitely be ready to defend yourself, protect your toes from rolling carts as well as battle through the crowds. read more

After having visited the Reading Road location, I was excited to check the Fairfield location out. This location is so massive, I was a little intimidated upon entering. There are rows and rows of women's jeans. Rows and rows of shirts. The amount of merchandise is astounding. If looking for items for more than one person, expect to spend a couple of hours here. Quantity is what this location has going for it. I read a couple of reviews where people complained about the staff. The two staff membership I encountered were pleasant. Checkout didn't take that long. Unfortunately, the plethora of merchandise makes aisles cramped. On many occasions I got trapped for several minutes at a time in aisles. People were all around and I couldn't move my cart until the others did. Compared to the Reading Road location, this location was really dirty. Best thrift store ever! I have moved away from the area but always do my best to come here whenever I'm in Hamilton for a visit. I'm not going to tell you all of the crazy finds that I have found here because I don't want people to start buying up the good stuff and selling it on ebay for 20x the thrift store price. This store is pretty nice for bargains but seldom are things on sale. The biggest negative I have is the other customers who lolly gag in the aisles and do not like it when you try to pass and go around them. I did this one day and was harassed and insulted by 2 different customers that implied it was a 2 lane highway and I was on the wrong side. Really? Are we never to pass anyone or a group (family) line blocking a fourth of the aisle. Management needs to put up some signs regarding movement via aisles and expecting customers to be courteous to each other. read more

This is a store that depends on donations and they have some great items but most things are a little pricey for it to be a thrift store item. We still shop here but are very selective on the things we buy. It has to be worth the price for us. My other concern is the managers are not friendly at all. By far the best thrift store I have ever been to. It was extremely organized and they had a great selection. I spent $25 on 5 skirts and a dress, all were in almost new condition. It's kind of hard to rate a thrift store because really your expectations are low if shopping here anyway... Prices are very good, stuff not clean, and most of the toys are broken... sooo much to look at! You can spend hours in the store however, there are more workers than customers and the workers are rude. We watched one male worker walk by picking his nose and wiped it on a garment hanging on the rack! My daughter walked in with a drink and 3 workers ran over and surrounded her like she was a terrorist telling her she cannot have drinks in the store. I'm really tempted to rate this place poorly so I can be selfish with it's offerings. In the spirit of honesty however.... This is best Thrift shop around. Variety is off the charts. Prices are fair in comparison to Goodwill. The shear size of the store is impressive. It's very clean. The Employees are friendly w/o being pushy. They're constantly bringing stuff to the floor. The products on the floor still have usefullness. And dont appear to donated because they where unsafe or ruined due to house fire/flood. Tons of clothes. Not a lot of "bigs". Pros- Prices. Selection. Product variety. Organization of merchandise. Quality of merchandise. Worker demeanor. Cons- Parking spots where painted by motorcycle Owners. Asiles have just enough room for two cart pushers to go by. Going to the bathroom is a semi-chore. If Vegas security ventured outside Casino's it went to Valley Thrift. There are cameras pointing every which way, which is great for security, but is sort of awkward for the simple fact that it's a thrift store, why is there a need for 9 cameras in the lot and over 50 in a store that gets its merchandise for free?!?!? read more

I love this place!! I grow a LOT of flowers - vases for flowers are one of my favorite "9¢ wonders" so I can give flower bouquets cost effectively to friends and family! I also purchase a lot of clothes for wearing around the house and gardening - really dirty gardening. I also found a bunch of corning ware cups matching my own pattern at home - a great deal. I do look for as many 9¢ wonders as I can - alas - occasionally - I have to settle for - 29¢ - or 69¢- or even 99¢ wonders - and of course occasionally I find something magnificent - that I will pay $20 for- I got a quilted queen size bed spread embellished with ribbon embroidery - simply beautiful for $20! I would give zero stars if I could. I was sold a counterfeit purse for $70 under the impression it was real. Small used Louis Vuitton price seemed ok to me, new they are $350-400. Upon discovering it was fake I went back to the store to seek a refund, yes I know they have a no refund no exchange policy, but though since they were passing this off as real they would want to fix the mistake. Didn't care said sorry and they don't check to see if items are authentic. Very poor service by not making it right since they defrauded me. I was just trying to get a refund and was letting them be aware of the item and I also believe it's illegal to sell counterfeit items. Will never go back now regardless of who the proceeds benefit. read more

Great Store! Great deals! Sometimes not enough carts though on BIG shopping days! Love it - although wish it were cleaner - especially on the MISC shelves - and wish they would spend time grouping things together - (may find set of 6 glasses on 3 different shelves in three isles!!) If you like to sort through junk and can stand the smell, it is a place for cheap hunts. You may get a chuckle when you see the vastly overpriced junk that even the same item new in store costs less. It is just like a flea market without the pleasure of haggling. I was twice denied the right to purchase items at the marked price. The clerk thought the price must be a mistake because the price was TOO cheap according to their flimsy judgment. I was treated like a thief, trying to make advantage of poor people. This is a good size store with a lot of nice items. However most of the staff was very rude and didn't speak english. My husband and I were trying to get through the aisles and there were three employees blocking the whole aisle and having a very loud conversation in Spanish.. They did not care at all that the customers were trying to get through the aisle. However, there was one employee at the jewelry counter that was every helpful and friendly. I wish I remembered her name. The cashier was an older lady with long gray hair, she was thee rudest of them all. When the jewelry girl took our jewelry to the cashier, the cashier looked at us and rolled her eyes back at us and made a disgusted noise.
