Very chaotic and disorganized place. Went up to the window, asked the lady if she could give me any guidance on how this worked - she said they don't take packing paper. Male in the back said they do and we should just dump everything inside. Had about 100lbs of packing paper, husband and I were annoyed and just dumped the paper and left. No one came up to help, we had to seek it out at every turn. read more

This is a great recycling center! This is a family owned business. They are so nice! My family has been coming here for a very long time...years and years! The workers that weigh your items are very nice as well. One of the gentlemen (and I'm so sorry I forget your name, Latin man that wears a hat) has been there a long time and is always so friendly. Love this place as you are able to get the best price for your recycling. You park your vehicle, grab your bags, and separate the glass from the plastic in the appropriate containers. The process is simple, once it get weighed, you get paid. A ticket gets printed once the recycling is weighed and you bring it to the window on the side, then they give you cash payment. Great process and staff that are there if you have any questions or needs help gathering your items. Parking is next to the weigh station or on the side if its already full. Call before you come to make sure they're taking the item you're wanting to offload that day. If you have a ton of cardboard, bring it here and tell the lady at the window that you have a cardboard donation. They'll tell you to drive into a warehouse. Literally pile the cardboard onto the floor. Drive out the way you did not come in one-way traffic). You will feel like Wall-E in a post apocalyptic trash world. We started going here when the place we used to go to on Nordhoff in Chatsworth stopped taking the CA redemption bottles/cans. I am very happy with the service, employees in the yard, minimal wait times and what they pay. The only thing I can comment on is they apparently don't like to have change available in coins. Every time I have been they have asked if I had change to give them so they could round up to the next full dollar amount....? read more

CLOSED when l went there. business hour incorrect and unknown. closed on Saturday, many have to turn away. closed sooner than you expect it. The big rusty sign (photo) does not show the correct business hours (invalid due to covina) I was there several times. Somewhat disorganized and outdated. they take CRV glass bottles. plastic bottles. small bottles 5cent , or less when weighed. 50 bottles glass per day by count. 50 plastic, as required by law. bigger bottles=2 bottles. some bottles are heavier than others. Scale shows by half pound eg 1 bottle=1/2 pound, 2bottles =0 lb.! Unmasked customers welcome!!! there you will see many never wearing a mask, and refusing to do so. No sign to wear a mask. And they wont do anything. There is a huge scale for trucks and semis with cardboard. read more

Great large scale recycling center. If your looking for white glove customer service, then this is not the place for you. If your looking for straightforward recycling for all your large recycling needs. I took 50+lbs. of completely flattened aluminum cans (be sure to leave the top with the CA CRV stamp visible), dumped them in the wired baskets. Dumped the glass bottles in the rubber trash cans, rolled them to the guy manning the scales. He weighed them right in front of me, and handed me the receipt. Took the receipt to the cashier at the window (don't park on the scale in front), gave her my ID (CA ID needed for anything over $50, guy in front of me did need it for $20ish), she handed me my cash and I was off in less than 10 mins (from start to finish). They will take a small portions of items, but don't waist your time or their's with any thing less then a couple lbs., your better of going to smaller recycling center. With that said bring gloves if your concerned about getting dirty, if you have basic questions the guys in the back are more than willing to answer them, but don't expect much more from them. If you have more in depth questions call their number. They actually answer the phone and are happy to help. read more

Hard to imagine a one star recycling experience but when I call and say I have a bunch of boxes and they say yes and I show up with shoe boxes they say no. WTF? I've been going here for a few years now, as I didn't care for the last one I was going to. This place couldn't be easier. Drive up, throw your stuff in the bins, get a receipt, and get paid. I laugh when I read reviews that they're rude and the customer wants to report them to a manager, or that they're thieves & scammers. Are you kidding me? This isn't a Fortune 500 company people. It's a Recycling Center. Those are the type of customers you have to put up with at Fortune 500 comapnies. (Google Scott Seiss Retail) if you want a good laugh. Super funny with customers like this. And to the person who said they were scammers and thieves, "You're an Idiot." If you want your 5 cents per bottle, take it to a place that you have to insert each bottle in a machine or have someone count them one by one. This isn't that kind of place. You dump your crap in, they weigh it, and you're out of there. You might not end up with 5 cents for each bottle, but it is So much quicker and convenient. Their prices are even posted outside if you look. So don't blame a business because your'e too stupid or lazy to research them before you went there. That's your fault. So now I've got that out of my way, I'll put it like this: If you have Any common sense, you will be fine here. They've never been rude to me or anyone that I've seen when I've been there. They're not throwing out the red carpet for you, but they're not rude. If you're unsure of how it works, drive up and watch other people for 2 minutes. That's all it should take before you figure it out. If you can't figure it out by then, well........ lol. Don't be scared to go here. Give them a shot. It's a good place. read more

They rejected my load said it has to be 100% clean loads, it's a hassle to drive all the way to a location to be rejected after the fact.

I don't know if recycling centers are supposed to have good service, but the service here SUCKS!! No one told me how their system works so I literally stood around waiting for someone to help. Finally, after 15 minutes some guy came out and just told me plastic in one bin and glass in another, or at least that's what I thought I heard. When I came back to him to have him weigh my items, he made me feel like a complete idiot for putting the plastic in a bin. Apparently it was supposed to go into something else. As he sees me lifting a big ass trash can to dump my bottles into an even bigger bin, he just literally stands there and watches. Uhhh... a little help jerk?!?! I ended up making $2 that day. Searched far and wide (on Google Maps) to find a damn recycling center and NOTHING legitimate. Everything closes at 2 or something completely ridiculous. Found this place here on Yelp and man am I grateful! I've been to several recycling centers and none have been as pleasant of an experience as this one. Honest, I know it sounds crazy! (which reminds me to review the Simi Valley location...) It's located sort of behind some other buildings, but definitely not impossible to find. There's a big sign off of the street too, so as long as you're observant and thorough, you should be fine. There are yellow arrows that wrap around the building to direct you where to go also, which was helpful for me, as there are several different places to go for different services. I was directed to drive through a gate and was pointed towards the back of the area, where there were 2 men who guided me to back up to commence with the sorting process. There weren't many employees, but there wasn't a lot of traffic either. Maybe 3 other people here recycling. I really liked the set up and it was quite organized. To my surprise, it wasn't stinky or depressing to be here either! Being the person I am, I couldn't just stand by and watch these guys do my dirty work, sorting through the debris of my partying. So I helped em' out! We separated the cans, plastics, ect. Even though there was a language barrier, the dudes and I shot the shit and had some laughs :) The guy I was working with even complimented my "bonita hair", aaaawh. They put my bins back in my piece of shit car and handed me my ticket. I was directed in the way of the yellow arrows to an alley that wrapped around the building and to a weigh scale with a window. Park past the weigh scale, go to the window to present your ticket and get your reward for contributing to the earth and community by recycling! I love this location and the people who work here. Yay recycling! :) Came wielding 2 13 gallon (yes, that's small) garbage cans, a milk crate full and 3 paper bags (sounds like a lot but I don't think it really is) worth of cans/glass/plastics. Living in Chatsworth and passing down Plummer St, I had no idea this place existed. I had a few bags of aluminum cans, plastic bottles, bimetal cans.... all of which were weighed and recycled at the Valley Recycling center. There is a drive through area where you unload your items, place them in specific baskets. They are weighed, you are given a receipt. you follow the path of the drive through and present your receipt to the cashier lady and she gives you your $$$$. Great place to recycle. read more

Yelp! is wrong about the closing time on Saturdays. Today they were apparently closing at 4/3:45 (depending on who you asked). I got there at 3:45 and had to ask where to go. The people were rushing me along like crazy, and when I finally got to the back where I was apparently supposed to drop off the stuff, I guess I was in the wrong place or pulled in incorrectly or something. I have no idea, though. The guy working wouldn't tell me. Maybe he thought his accent was too strong, but seriously I would have been able to understand him had he vocalized what he wanted me to do. Instead he kept making these hand motions that I couldn't determine the meaning of. He wanted me to move my car, but I don't work with trucks, so I have no idea what his hand signals meant, and he just kept repeating them again and again. I'd ask him "what do you want me to do?" and he'd just make the damn hand motions. When a guy standing next to him started laughing, I just thought "screw this" and I left. I was going to just throw the stuff in my recycle bin at home (it was literally one garbage bag of stuff, so I don't really care about the money), but I had to stop at Whole Foods anyway, so I just went to the recycling place in the Whole Foods parking lot while I was there (which is open till 5pm on Saturdays). This place is way too complicated for what should be a simple process, and the people working were rude. Definitely not going back. read more

My son was on a mission to save and recycle for extra pocket money towards a cause he's interested in. So after months of him collecting cans, plastic and glass bottles, I was dancing my way to this recycling center to finally clear up the bags that took up space in my garage. I liked that it was close and seemed organized; you pull up in line, park unload in coordinating bins and drive around the building with the ticket to collect. My son danced his way home when he made $25. We didn't have anything to compare to, so he was satisfied. The next time my determined kiddo went longer, saving double the amount, mostly aluminum cans since he figured they're the biggest pay out, determined to make $50 so we went back but he only got about $15!! Go figure. I asked if their prices changed in the last few months but was met with attitude. I don't know if their scale guy isn't measuring correctly or decided "what would a kid know", but I was disappointed for him and told him we'll find a different place next time, so I'm back here looking. read more
