Awful. This operator is often late by at least 45 minutes to an hour at the site. When I was there last Monday, he was nowhere to be found so I called the number on the and reached Karim, the Owner. The operator decided to take the guy behind me in and so when I was leaving, he started taking pictures of me. The knows all about this. With the closing of all the Planet Recycle places there are few choices for us Westsiders if we want to redeem our cans/bottles for some $$. So it was worth the 30min. drive as I had to be in the area anyway and I was pleasantly surprised how quick and easy it was. Small parking lot in a mini-mall -- just find a spot and grab some of those wire containers (very light) and bring over to your car and get going. I pre-sort my cans and plastic bottles at home so it's super fast to just dump them in -- and drag over the the scale guys who do the weighing for you. Tip: "For your plastic bottles leave the caps ON -- as you get more money that way" (I had always been told to take them off at other places). 10 minutes and $47 bucks later I was on my way to nearby Johnny Pacific for the best Empanadas in town! read more

When we found out that our apartment complex wasn't very organized when it came to recycling, we decided to take it into our own hands. Recycling Innovations is a no BS, in and out stop for some quick cash. The process is pretty straight forward, but can be a little intimidating for any first timers. Just grab a trash bin for glass and some fencing baskets for everything else. Take it to the scale and cashier, get it weighed and get paid. If you don't know what to do, take a look around at everyone else. If you don't have everything separated already, get ready to do it there in the parking lot. Parking is very limited, especially on the weekends since it shares the lot with a few other businesses. Bottom line, I know my recyclables went where I wanted them to go instead of a landfill. When you do your own recycling you probably want to do the drop off quick, get paid, and get out. So this is the place for that. It shares its parking with the liquor store next door. Basically you just drive up and park and they have two types of "bins". One type is like a yard waste bin for glass. The other "mesh" (like you'd see around a garden) is used for aluminum and plastic. They already have the starting weights of these two bins known so they subtract that when you get paid. You bring the bin type you need over to your car, unload into these empty bins, bring the bins to the dude working the scale. He weighs, moves your filled bins to the side and then he prints out a receipt with your weights. You look at it and the price. You verify they will pay you the total. You sign a paper showing you're a real person dropping off recycling, and then they give you cash. It's really that simple and quick. It's not intimidating if you don't go in scared. And it's not rocket science. The people working there know why you're there obviously! If you ask for help they'll probably help you but at the same time there's just one or two people working so they might not be able to depending on the volume. The people that work there are very nice and helpful. It's also a fast and easy process. To make it go even faster make sure you organize your recycling separately: glass, clear plastic, non-clear plastic, aluminum cans, etc. just so you can make their job easier and waste less time on everyone's part. This is the best recycling center in the Valley. It's located on Roscoe and Winnetka. It's convenient and they pay cash (no vouchers). The process is simple, parking is easy, no long lines and waiting around. I have been frequenting this specific location for about two years now. The recycling attendant Ludvin is phenomenal. He is service oriented, very knowledgeable, extremely helpful, efficient and provides world class service with a smile. He goes above and beyond to assist all his customers. He is prompt and always ready to take on his first customers at 8am and stays past closing to assist those late comers who clearly have no respect for time. The other staff are helpful and friendly too, but it's Ludvin's management and leadership skills that make this center run so smoothly. He truly makes recycling a pleasant experience. Ludvin is definitely an asset to this center and Karim is lucky to have a loyal, dedicated and dependable employee like him. read more
