I felt rushed, not a welcoming environment. No lockers to store personal belongings. I am oxygen dependent so not only did I have to carry my machine with me, but my clothing and purse as well. Very tiresome to say the least. I do realize that they are very busy, but I felt like cattle, like my presence was an annoyance to the tech. She didn't introduce herself when calling me or walk me out when finished. I've had mammograms before and this experience was not good at all. read more

This experience was a horrible nightmare caused entirely by their super shtty scheduling people. It took four calls back and forth to get the Appointment scheduled in the first place, they kept asking me for a piece of paperwork the doctor had already sent over at least twice, and that I had uploaded into their system twice myself. Then after verifying several times per call the fact that the doctor had ordered the Open MRI due to me panicking, and asking me if I might need the larger machine as well, They sent me to this place which has neither an open MRI, nor a larger machine that could accommodate my size. They didn't take me back for almost an hour after my appointment time was scheduled and the entire time I was visible and perceived, I spoke to many people who work there, and not one of them told me I would not fit in the machine. They did tell me that they did not have an open MRI, but they promised the process would only take 15-20 minutes and let me take one of my panic pills. One of the employees told me the schedulers only give them 5 minutes per patient which is why they were so behind So, after jumping through multiple flaming hoops including having someone take off work to help me with my service dog, and arriving exactly at 9:55 am, as requested, for my 10:15 am appointment, I left there at 11:19 am with no MRI and an appointment for the correct location with the correct equipment for later this afternoon. All this so some idiot can make more money billing for more patients while their employees are probably getting subpar pay, and they outsource their scheduling to some company that does not understand where the equipment is, or how long the procedure takes. Corporate greed in your healthcare is bad for the patients and the employees. Valley Radiology should be ashamed. read more

I had a very frustrating experience with scheduling at this imaging center. About two hours before my MRI appointment, I received a text message informing me that my appointment time had been changed. I later learned that the appointment was being moved because the scheduling department had accidentally double-booked the time slot. What was especially frustrating was that my physician had specifically ordered the MRI as STAT, yet my appointment was still rescheduled because of an internal scheduling error. No one contacted me to discuss whether the new time worked for me before making the change. They also didn't attempt to reschedule the other person's appointment yet reschedule mine which was marked urgent. After a challenging conversation with the scheduling department, I explained that my physician had requested the MRI be completed as soon as possible. I was then told that an earlier appointment at 10:45am could be arranged. However, I later discovered that they had actually scheduled me for 2:15pm, a time I had repeatedly stated I was unavailable. When I called back approximately 30 minutes later to correct the error, I reached the same scheduling representative. They acted as though our previous conversation had never occurred and they had no memory of talking to me just 30 minutes before and insisted that 2:15pm was the only available option. No effort was made to resolve the issue or honor what had been discussed and agreed upon earlier. Ultimately, I had to call the Los Gatos clinic directly to find an appointment time that worked. During that conversation, I was also informed that my copay would be $420, which was significantly higher than the $130 I had been told by the scheduling representative. The MRI itself may have been fine, but the scheduling process was disorganized, inconsistent, and unnecessarily stressful. Patients should not have to navigate conflicting information, scheduling errors, errors in cost amount, and last-minute changes, especially when the examination is needed promptly for a potentially serious medical concern. read more

I booked this appointment two months in advance. On the day of the appointment, I arrived and waited, only to be told at the scheduled appointment time that they could not reach my primary care doctor to verify the information, so the procedure could not be done today. If verification was required, they had two months to take care of it. They should not have waited until the day of the appointment, at 7:30 a.m., to tell me that verification was needed. Gave my sister a ride to Valley radiology for chest x ray , appointment for 12:50 pm .was instructed to come around 12:30 for registration .after waiting for 20 min after scheduled appointment time , inquired how long the wait should be ,. Reply by front desk personnel was time written down by x ray tech is 2:10 pm. This lengthy wait without any explanation is very frustrating . A simple explanation about delay would be sufficient and acceptable. But the lack of it speaks volume about total disregard and disrespect toward customers. read more

This review is super overdue but, Veronica at the front desk was very nice, and even though there was a situation where they were backed up, they still stayed to help me with what I needed. Veronica also made sure we had water and snacks since it was late, I really appreciate that she cared enough to. This was one of the worst medical check-in experiences I've ever had. We arrived exactly as instructed - 20 minutes early - but were delayed due to a line at the front desk. When we finally reached the counter, Rose appeared unable to navigate the system or locate our information. Instead of addressing the issue professionally, she snapped, "you're supposed to be on the table right now," placing blame on us despite our arriving on time and following instructions. Her tone was hostile, dismissive, and entirely inappropriate for a medical setting. The interaction added unnecessary stress to an already anxiety-provoking appointment and demonstrated a complete lack of professionalism or basic customer service skills. If Rose represents the standard of patient-facing staff at this facility, leadership should be deeply concerned. This is not how patients should be treated in any healthcare environment. read more

If you schedule for an MRI, and the person scheduling you says it will only take 30 minutes, plan for it to take 30 minutes after a 1.5 hour waiting room wait. Receptionist was really condescending to a woman before me who did not speak English as her first language. Receptionist also did not communicate how much the charge would be on my card -- only found out from card reader. People in charge of actual MRI were nice guys. I just wish I'd known it would take 2 hours so I could've planned my day accordingly. read more

Had an early AM appointment and found myself a parking spot right around the building. Wasn't as crowded when I stepped in though it picked up and all of a sudden there was line ( right when I got done with my paperwork and was waiting for my turn). Sylvia is amazing when it comes to customer care and welcoming patients to the imaging center. She did the initial paperwork and collected the payment after which I sat back In the waiting area. Rachel was the ultrasound tech who was assigned for my appointment and she was wonderful to work with. She made me comfortable and briefed me about the procedure. She was very efficient and quick with the whole process. Would definitely recommend Valley Radiology for all your imaging, ultrasound etc needs absolutely for sure.. read more

Be prepared for inconsistent service and overpay (confirm with insurance in advance that you don't have to pay at time of service.) They had me fill out the same paperwork I did online before visit. Had to wait 2 1/2 hours, computers were down for MRI, no place to sit inside wait room waited in lobby, and had to reschedule or miss a separate doctor appointment. Was told to plan 3 hours for next visit and arrive 30 minutes before appointment. 2nd attempt at getting MRI (and after arranging for a day off from work and paying for childcare) I have to pay for visit at time of service even though insurance confirmed I did not have to pay. Then I get seen In less than 90 minutes. So now I've paid for outside childcare twice, and now have to work with VRI billing to get reimbursed for a copay did not have to pay. In the past it's taken me months and have to go in person to get money back instead of a credit applied to my account. read more

The staff here and their call service center is not reliable at all. I called before the appointment to confirm the appointment time and asked if there's any copay. The staff said no copay. Then on the appointment date, I was informed by their staff that there's copay. I paid because I had waited 2 weeks and drove a long way here to Samaritan drive for the appointment. Now after 3 weeks, I received a bill from Samaritan radiology center for additional amount. Please keep in mind that they like to over charge you up front for whatever tests you are going there for. For some reason, they don't take FSA cards (go figure). The receptionist was very rude. After your visit, it becomes your responsibility to call them for a refund. If you don't know or remember, they probably will keep the overcharged money. What a scam! read more

Then had to go yo emergency surgery afterwards and while I am still recovering from a back surgery, I found out they sent the "$51" bill to a debt collector!!! Really? Debt collector!? Valley Radiology Samaritan is horrible. It is filthy. The patient gowns are touching the floor, the staff does not wear gloves or sanitize their hands. The manager was in his office and we heard him screaming and repeating the F word. He has no business running a medical office with that mentality. The office experience at this location was absolutely terrible. First the "greeter" was incredible rude and unfriendly. I walked in with my son for a scheduled appointment, prescription in hand. Without a "hello", "good morning" or even a "how can I help you". The first thing out of the greeter's mouth was we are not allowing x-rays until this afternoon you will have to come back. How incredibly awful. She did not even ask if I had a appointment, how off putting. She advised she was not sure how the x-ray was going to happen because the tech who would do the x-ray was in a different department. By the way you cannot even schedule an x-ray appoint over the phone you have to do it on-line. I filled everything out, selected all the appropriate options. If I selected to the wrong location they should have seen the options I chose and called me! errrrg! Second, this very fragile older gentleman was sitting in a chair and the "greeter" told him, very rudely, to go to the "window". The poor man could barely walk, he had a cane, and he self admitted to terrible hearing. As the greeter continued to tell (yell) him to walk over to the other desk, the nice person from behind that desk quickly and politely walked over to him. This nice person was not the person I talked to when I walked over to the desk. For me "second desk/window" was not as bad, fairly friendly. I feel a bit sorry because I took a little (maybe a lot) of my anger/frustration out on her. She basically said I had to go to a different location/facility because the specific x-ray my son needed was not done at this facility. I do overall understand technology. When I scheduled the appointment, there should have been a notification or pop-up on the appointment screen or phone call to tell me I needed to change my location. So three whammies, for this facility today and Valley Radiology as a whole. I am typing this review just after I got home, so I am still quite angry. I'll have to wait and lower my anger and frustration before I call for another appointment. It took one incredible rude "greeter" to ruin my day. I've been to this location countless times and the wait can be as short as 5 minutes, or as long as 30 minutes. But that's usually the norm for places like this one. What motivated me to give them such a high rating is the one person that does the check-in. Myesha Young is the staff that stood out for me. Her friendliness, respectful demeanor, patience, and professionalism have been consistent and impressive. And that's her towards EVERYONE. I hope someone from VRI is reading this and giving recognition to Ms. Young. She deserves it. read more

I have several issues with Valley Radiology in general recently. I just called there what appears to be a call Center out of the country and if it isn't it sure did sound like it just to make an appointment you're talking to people that are reading from a script really impersonal don't seem to have any of your history as they're asking you for all your personal data. Say they have your orders in front of them but yet they're asking you what your specific mammogram ultrasound Mri is for I asked Dont you have the order in front of you oh hold on and they all sound like call Center's for Amazon. It's really awful at one point. The woman had to call me back and when she called back my phone never rang. It just went straight to voicemail which tells me it's out of the country more than likely is this really what Customer Service for medical care that's in San Jose coming to? It's really terrible and from what I've read from all the other reviews there's a major consensus here you should dramatically think about changing this because it's really impersonal. It's really frustrating. It took me 30 minutes on the phone with this person to schedule my screening appointment because I had to continue to listen to her reading from her script like somebody I'm calling from Amazon secondly on my last screening appointment a year ago I had an incident where I never heard the result of my mammogram after following up after a week two weeks turns out my results disappeared so I had to go back in after elevating it to management is the only reason I got any kind of reconciliation. Your facility has continued problems that don't seem to be getting resolved but the Customer Service piece I can attest to I've seen it. I've witnessed it. I've heard it and I've experienced it. They do not take appointments for XRays. That's fine. However, they also do not have an xray tech daily, so you really should call ahead and specify what you need. Here's why. We drove here last week, waited 15 min in line to get on the wait list to then be told their tech no called/ no showed. They recommended two other locations. It was near the end of day, so we decided to try again today. Today, they had a tech but were told they cannot perform the xray type we needed. Um, maybe you could have mentioned that last week. Went to the recommended location and guess what? They dont have a tech today There is no sense of urgency or commitment to care. They can easily communicate from one location to another to at least see if they are staffed. Good luck to you. read more

I arrived at 2:00 for a scheduled exam at 2:30. I was told the exam would take about 40 minutes, but I ended up waiting until 4:30. When I asked about the ETA, they said I would need to wait at least another 90 minutes. If you value your time, go somewhere else. VRI does offer PET/CT, which is critical for cancer screening, unlike at Stanford where you wait several months. HOWEVER, it is almost impossible to make an appointment for several reasons: 1. Even the website does NOT list VRI Samaritan, so it's not possible to find the fax number for MD orders. 2. No matter which exam, MRI or CT, PET/CT, the person answering will say WE DO NOT HAVE AN ORDER. 3. I tell them my MD confirmed faxing the order and the MRI COMES ONLINE AFTER a 5-minute delay. Yes, they find the order. 4. For CT/PET/CT, Scott gives the same response--NO ORDER; he cannot find it. Under ADA --I was 100% disabled before cancer caused my speech to become intermittent-- he will call my MD. Scott gives me the wrong MD and wrong phone number, so I correct him. 5. The next day, the same routine occurs, including the wrong MD and wrong phone number, so I correct it again. Exams have been postponed from June due to hospitalization, then scheduled in July. As I'm waking up twice a night now unable to breathe, this exam is critical, and LOS GATOS hospitals do not offer PET/CT. To improve this situation easily: 1. Add your Santa Clara sites, including VRI Samaritan, to your main website. 2. Since VRI Samaritan has a separate listing, know that if I click on the website link, I am directed to the general California website--except for locations in Santa Clara. 3. If you cannot update your webpage, at least provide both the phone number and fax number for VRI Samaritan in your listing. 4. Correct your IT systems at all VRI locations so schedulers can see BOTH ANY EXAMS ORDERED AND NOT COMPLETED, including additional orders from other physicians. read more

It's a mess worse than the DMV. They are so incompetent that they can't offer appointments. Over the phone they make it look like it'll be just a little wait, but that was not true when I arrived there as I was told it could take over two hours but nothing was guaranteed. Awful experience. I would recommend going anywhere else and have shared that feedback with the large physicians group that referred me to cease all future referrals. I arrived 7 minutes before my appointment time. When I scheduled it was recommended that I arrive 15 minutes prior to complete paperwork. I was coming from work in SF and got hit by traffic, but was still early. Upon arriving, I waited for 10 minutes before acknowledged by staff. This was when they told me I'd need to reschedule. When I inquired, they said they'd ask the tech if she'd still take me but she was with a patient. I asked how that could be the case if it was MY appointment time. The response was that they were running behind schedule. So essentially, they used my not arriving 15 minutes prior to my appointment as an excuse to catch up on their day, which was running behind prior to my appointment and had nothing to do with me. Remember, I was early for my appointment. I drove 2 hours to arrive early and still be turned away. For a mammogram. An important preventative appointment. Not to mention they didn't even acknowledge me upon my arrival and the paperwork that they said required 15 minutes was 2 signatures and collecting payment. I can't imagine how they treat patients in the actual room. I requested a print out of my referral and will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

I wish I could just give a 5 because the physical part of the office is a 5 in the mammogram department. However, the front desk and follow-up needs to be addressed . Last year, they did not send report to my doctor(yes they had info otherwise I would not have been able to get the mammogram) Thus year did not get results thru mail. They ask how you want results-I requested mail. Instead they want me to use portal, which I am having trouble getting into. Therefore, I called. Kim said I could come in and pick up a copy of the results and I said it was a bit inconvenient to return and asked if she could put results in mail. She said no cuz she was just the front desk..Question: why did she ask me to come in and A pick up a copy then?she could not go the extra step to go this? What has happen to patient care? Same as the many negative reviews. Scheduling is so hard...no one answers their phone and the auto prompt to schedule leaves you waiting for a very very long time. Took me 2 days after my doctor's referral to get a call back to schedule my MRI. I arrive at set appointment and they tell me they left me a voicemail to reschedule for a later day. I didn't get a voicemail and no email or other form of communication. I had to tell my doctor to refer me to another imaging center. Save yourself frustrations and time and immediately go elsewhere or tell your doctor to refer you elsewhere. read more

You really have to be careful with your payment process, your customers are sick people and what's worse in life is staff dept. can't bill us correctly. I had to call my bank and waited 1/2 an hour on the phone, your customer service rep acted like I was lying about my payment. He was shocked that I had proof. My experience with the Valley Radiology organization has been terrible. I will do my best to avoid them in the future and will discuss with my referring Dr. I would recommend avoiding them. The medical operators and staff were fine and made the actual experience tolerable, however the administrative folks are a catastrophe. When setting up an appointment, the most rude and unhelpful person basically blew me off twice because he could not find the order from my Dr. I requested my Dr's office staff call them and handle the situation, which they did. The staff at the office front desk are extremely unprofessional and rude. I was asked to review 4 pages of data, in which a lot was incorrect, so I corrected it. 2 days after the exam, I accessed the patient portal and realized that all the data I had corrected was still wrong (and is used for authentication) and much of the additional information I provided regarding allergies, personal demographic data, etc was not present or showed other random data. I called their number and the most unhelpful person again put me on hold for 20 min and was unable to change any data beyond name and address (which was wrong). After asking who might be able to help me correct the other data, she simply hung up on me. read more

I've had MRIs at other places and this place is the worst. I will avoid coming here again and will tell my MD why. It was hard enough to try to schedule an appointment with the call center (bacause it's located in another country!) When I couldn't do it on line, I went in person to schedule it andband it still took them 20 minutes! On top of all that, I got to my appointment and waited and hour and found out that it would be at least another 20 minutes before they might get to my turn. This place is definitely the worse one I ever went to, bad system and rude people! Try to avoid if you have any other choice! My appointment was scheduled at 9:20am. When I filled out my info the day before the appointment from the link they sent inside the message, it still said 9:20am for my appointment and check in time was 9am (See the message photo attached, it said 9am, which was 20 mins prior to the appointment time) However, the dramatic thing happened when I got there, their system displayed my appointment time was 8:20am, not 9am anymore! Don't know when it was changed, no update, no message at all, it just suddenly changed! (See the screenshot of the new time their system displayed! )Then they said I was late and couldn't accommodate me any more! I was trying to explain what happened and the front desk insisted no availability and guided me to their supervisor, who is the worst and rudest person I ever met! He just tried to avoid admitting their system error and said I was not telling the truth and threat if I argued with him any more, he won't try to accommodate me for the next day. I never had such bad experience before and was treated so badly! So, just one advice, try to avoid this place as much as you can! I wish I could give them zero point! read more
