Bob will try his best to assist, and give you knowledge to keep your pool and components running the best they can. He's even gone as far as said, "Take this one home, give it a try, this will tell your part is faulty or not." when referring to whether or not I have to replace my salt cell. That's going above and beyond!! Prices are great, convenient location for Madison residents. Installed my next-door neighbors liner, and he has said nothing but a great experience, will be using them when time to replace my liner. read more

We love our Allure pool. Valley Pools worked with us to ensure we got everything we wanted and needed. The only thing I am definitely unhappy with is the concrete around the edges where the pool and concrete meet. It was done it was very messy and sloppy. The concrete is falling out and looks terrible. I have contacted Valley Pools and it took a while but about a month later they had the company come back out and repair one spot. That spot is now cracking and coming off. Again I love our pool and would just choose a different type of surround if given the opportunity to do it again. read more

My wife bought an aqua-pro heat pump from this store. It came with no plumbing connections (which I later found out was supposed to have, but the Chinese manufacturer did not ship with). A salesman sold me $50.00 worth of connectors and plumbing pieces that were completely wrong. Then the salesman met me around back with the unit on its side on a dolly. I asked him to please stand it up. He said, it's fine on its side until you open it. I told him there is refrigerant in heat pumps and should always remain upright, look at the arrows on the box! I went back to return all the wrong plumbing parts, when I am told they don't sell any supporting plumbing connectors for this product, and I would have to go to the North Hills store. I asked if they could send them to this location and he said it would take about a week. From North Hills to Robinson. I asked if their delivery guy was walking? I cant recall a worse retail experience, and I am glad there are many other options in the area. read more

In September 2021 we paid large down payment for pool installation. Work didn't begin until late February. Myself or husband would call at least every 2 weeks when sub contractors were not on site. Company does not monitor their sub contractors after money was exchanged. I truly believe our Pool would not have been completed this year without our continue complaining to Valley Pool and contractors when they would show. Quality of concrete was fair. Their excuse was often we have alot of jobs going right now. Company does NOT communicate updates and planning after ground is broken. read more

Overall, very happy wirh Valley Pools. We had our pool built at the peak of COVID-19 and although there were some challenges regarding supply shortages and personnel, they still did a great job. My only complaint is warranty work. Our coping cracked short after completion and although we've addressed the issue numerous times with a guarantee that someone would be coming out to repair it for almost 2 years, no one has come as of yet. Not a big issue as the part that broke off is small but still something I think they should repair and we plan to address again soon. Other than that, very happy with Valley Pools. read more

Horrible customer service in robinson pa! Bought two lounger floats on black friday. Put them in pool last week and they dont float! Called in hopes if store credit and they made every excuse not to help me! Finally they said they could only help if i had the box which i did not. We used Valley Pools for the install of our pool a couple of years ago and now that we're back in AL we'll use them again for the install of anything we need for the new pool. Everything didn't go just as planned but Ronny doesn't control the weather or where our septic tank was located or other issues. Using Valley Pools to replace the liner in my pool was a HUGE MISTAKE which has been frustrating, costly, and time consuming. Unfortunately, this is not an experience which will be forgotten, since every time I get in the pool, I step on pebbles which were left under the liner!! Additionally, everyone else who gets in the pool notices this as well and I have to explain what a bad job Valley Pools did. After initially speaking with Bob, I decided to hire Valley to replace the liner of my pool and agreed upon a general timeline for services (which was not met by the way). I began to worry once the initial timeline for services were far exceeded. Eventually (maybe 6 months later), the work was done and I was thankful for that. However, before the crew left, I pointed out the massive divots and craters which were very visible all over the walls and floor of the pool. The crew called Bob, I spoke with him, and he told me it was due to ground water issues. He agreed to fix it once the ground water was more favorable in the winter. MORE THAN A YEAR LATER, after making call after call and visiting the store multiple times to speak about this issue, they pulled up part of the liner (not all of it because time is money) and attempted to repair the issue. The shallow end looks better, but feels like you are walking on a gravel parking lot. That's right! There are pebbles under the liner (some of them large enough to bruise your heel if you step on them)!! This is not a good feeling and I'm sure that will cause a leak at some point due to the pressure on the liner from the larger pebbles. The walls look a lot better, but are not as smooth as they should be. The deep end wasn't touched and still has the same large craters as it did before. Since the repair was done before the pool was opened for the season, there was a lot of algae in the pool which was power washed from the shallow end (so they could work on it) into the deep end which was never drained or attempted to repair. Rather than pump the algae from the deep end before they filled the pool, they left me with a swamp that I couldn't see through to verify if they had made and repairs. I can't begin to truly express my frustration and energy loss from this experience. Valley Pools can blame the issue on ground water, rain, or being overbooked, but the bottom line is that as a customer I paid full price for a job which was done very poorly and with bad levels of communication. The results are simply not up to industry standards in any respect and I will be reminded of it every time I step foot in the pool. read more

I have been with Valley pools for over 10 years and I always find the team very helpful. The team is knowledgeable and they strive to get your pool water balanced and clear with the least cost possible. Valley pool has also replaced my liner and stood behind it when the new liner leaked replacing it and providing a credit for chemicals to restart the pool once refilled. Ronny blamed the weather but the real story is he is sent his crew to someone else's house to work on theirs by accident. He is getting forgetful and making mistakes that cost the customer time and money. If you use them, get everything in writing with a signature! Ronny the owner makes all kinds of excuses as to why they are late, but 6 months late? Now they state that it's finished but cement work is awe full with cracks and black marks in it. He tells me it's not cured yet? They poured it 5 months ago? Concrete doesn't take 5 months to cure. Also the coping they installed was the wrong color and there excuse is "that's what you get", terrible company that doesn't focus on customer satisfaction or getting the job done. Workmanship is pool and the crew is lazy. Do not use this pool company or you will have problems. There are many more unfinished pools and lots of complaints about Valley Pools all over Madison. We're military, moved to the area 4 years ago and plan to stay on retiring. Valley Pools has a much-appreciated, 20% off deal buying supplies on Thurs. However, we have yet to have them show-up anywhere close to scheduled appointment times at my home for pool services. They promise to show between 7-12 for example and may not arrive for hours afterwards. This is understandable on occasion, but the lack on common courtesy; not returning phone calls, no follow up to give an estimated new time of arrival is unsatisfactory. It's just doesn't seem kind, caring or "Alabama Charm" (friendly) at all. It may be time to find a more reliable pool service company. People take off work and make plans around VP's poor record on being on time. read more

I'm SHOCKED to read that review for Valley Pools, Ronnie and his staff... As my experience was completely the opposite and I'm proud to give him 5 stars. Is putting in a pool an easy experience?? NO! . Many factors... permits, inspections, WEATHER, septic tanks, existing structures, and unrealistic expectations can all lead to a disasters. But if you have a contractor like Valley Pools your process is much smoother! Here's our story... Before we ever bought our home, I went into to Valley pools store and Johnson pools and asked if anyone would come out and look at our property and see if a pool was possible. Johnson pools said they would not come out but would look at the plat if I brought it in... The staff at Valley pools said they would be glad to have someone come out and just let them know the address and the time. I had not met Ronnie before our appt. at the house. He arrived looked at the plat , spoke with existing homeowner and surveyed the back yard and the entire situation... He assured me it was "doable" ... never once asking if we would use their business... did not charge me for the information or service. I thanked him and filed his card away. We bought the house and a year later I again made my trek of calling and visiting pool contractors in the Huntsville area.... Valley pools was the only one that seemed interested in our situation rather than just selling a pool. Ronnie came out and spoke with us and and gave us many options and prices. We was very honest with us on about the process and a time line. I made it very clear that my son was getting married in 5 months and I needed the pool completed by the wedding... He gave me his word and at times due to horrible weather I began to doubt it... but sometimes I would hear a bulldozer at 5pm when the ground had dried out or a Sat. when the weather was looking bad for the following week and it would be Ronnie - himself out there making progress. My granddaughter called him "Ronnie the pool man" she got so used to seeing him out working. We had A LOT of obstacles due to a septic system that he county no longer allows, a sprinkler system, many trees, a fence and again the worst weather ever... Every time I had a question or concern - Ronnie and his staff would always take my call or get back with me quickly. We had a concern with one of his employees and I addressed it with Ronnie - it was handled quickly and professionally. My husband was traveling during most of the backyard make-over. I had to deal with it mostly by myself. My husband had to been in the loop by phone and many times unreachable so I would have to make immediate decisions on my own. I would always say "Ronnie what would you do if this was your decision" and we would go that direction. We were always very satisfied with the results. In fact we have said many times it exceeds our expectations! We LOVE our pool and our backyard retreat. We've never had a pool before and know nothing about maintaining a pool ... Ronnie, Bob, Jeff and Nikki and all the girls in the store have gone above and beyond to help us have a beautiful pool, maintain it easy and efficiently. Just recently, we had a pool pump problem (again my husband was out of town) and I called on the coldest day of the year and Ronnie was home sick and most of his staff was off due to the holiday. He could sense my "panic" and urgency and sent Jeff out quickly and he found the problem and quickly helped me winterize the pool. (we have a salt water pool and usually keep it running all winter). We love our beautiful backyard - we owe it all to Valley Pools! Thank you ! If I had to do it all over again the only thing I would do differently ~ I wouldn't call other pool contractors... If there is ever another pool project in my future - Valley Pools will have the job! They have all become like family. BEWARE!!! I have had nothing but bad advice, bad service and bad experiences with Valley Pools. For starters, they told me how much salt to add to my pool... which was way too much. They were just trying to sell me products. Every time they would tell me to add something in my pool or hot tub when I returned to the store they told me it was too much. The biggest thing was seven months ago I used them to close my pool, I paid their high prices and 7 months later they sent me a PAST DUE bill stating I didn't pay them. I checked my bank records and proved to them that I did pay... no apology or anything. Personally I think they do that to a lot of people to see who will pay. Their prices are high, but if you need something right away and can't wait 24 or 48 hours to get it from Amazon, then I would use them or Leslie pools (or even Wal-Mart). Just do your research before talking to them, they are there to only sell you over-priced chemicals that you probably don't need to begin with. read more

Finally had it with Ronny and valley pools. Had a decent sized vinyl pool installed a year ago. Installation took longer than expected due to the rain and eventually was done over the course of 3 months. After we made our first payment, it was difficult to get them back to finish. That seems to be their business model - Ronny will make the sale and comes off as sincere and trustworthy and then pass it off for others to finish and you won't see him again; capture as much business in the spring, collect first payment, and get to finishing the job when you can. We were constantly given the run around in terms of when they would be back out to finish, set a date, and no-show. Not even a courtesy call to say they were not coming. Pool was finally installed but had two issues: (1) backhoe driving thru the yard busted a water pipe that I had to pay for and get fixed; and (2) two small areas where the liner was not tucked correctly (sagging). This year we had the motor go out and valley pools promptly replaced it under warranty. We also had valley pools close the pool for free as part of the installation and $100 off when opening this summer (April). We were expecting the opening of the pool to be $150 after the $100 off. At the time of the opening, we were told we would get a bill in the mail. That bill arrived last week certified receipt for $335! The wife went to valley pools to get answers on the bill, but was told opening did not account for all the necessary chemicals and oh by the way to fix the liner that was not done properly the first time. Needless to say, we paid the bill right then and there and vowed never to do business with them again and highly recommend others not to either. It's just not worth the hassle and relieved not to have to deal with them any more. read more

Today we went back for our second trip to Valley Pools, the first trip was to the store in Athens, which closes at 2PM on Saturday. The first trip was to get chemicals to get rid of the green algae which was determined by a water test. I bought the swamp treatment and did exactly as they told me, the next day the water was still green so we went tot the store in Madison. They told us to use more super shock (the kind they sell) and to add 2 more bottles of algaecide. On the way home the lid of one of the algaecide bottles leaked out into our car trunk. I called the store to see if they would honor our business by giving us another bottle since I felt it was their responsibility to sell us a bottle with a securely fastened lid. The whole bottle was spilled all over our trunk and will be a permanent stain, but they said they couldn't do anything about it. This really ticked me off because we spend hundreds in their store every year, and I feel it should've been their responsibiity to make sure their products are fastened securely precisely because of what happened to me. That is their business to sell mostly bottled products and build pools. I told them on the phone they had lost my business. I really liked the owner Ronnie, and he probably would've just given us a new bottle, but we won't be back. read more
