Walking into this shop is delightful in itself, as you enter you are immediately swept up by its…read morecharm and elegance. It was just minutes before closing and I was still given a gracious reception. I was a little embarrassed as I explained that I had brought a piece of costume jewelry that needed a repair in the chain, that it wasn't valuable except to me because a beloved friend had given it to me. The young woman that greeted me was reassuring and asked to see the necklace. She put it under her jeweler's light and magnifying glass and was able to repair it as I waited. If you have ever had a sentimental piece that you thought was ruined, and someone was able to repair it you will have an idea of the joy I felt when she handed the necklace back to me and I slipped it around my neck. This is what I know, from now on I will be stopping in at this lovely shop for any gifts I need. In this past year, I have made a personal commitment to avoid shopping online and instead I want to support local shop owners. They are the ones that invest in our community and I want to honor that. My reception and service that I experienced at "The Velvet Case" has increased my commitment to stop there first and I will be back often to celebrate birthdays, graduations, weddings, and new babies.

I am extremely disappointed in Treasures Through Time. The first time my fiancé and I went into…read morethis store, the owners were very helpful and we found the engagement ring we both loved. After purchasing and receiving the ring, things really went down hill. I lost a diamond out of the side of the ring within a week of receiving it. When I called, I was unable to get ahold of the shop because their hours changed with no notice. When I brought my ring in to have it looked at, I was accused of "banging the ring around". I left the ring in the shop and decided to get an estimate of cost. However, the same day my fiancé and I decided to take the ring to his family jeweler because they would do the repairs for free. When I went back into the shop to pick up my ring, the owner told me I was confused about what they meant in front of a group of costumers even though I had a copy of the receipt saying estimate needed and told me he would deal with me later. I promptly left with my ring. I would not recommend Treasures Through Time unless you are just browsing or do not plan on doing follow up appointments.
