Zero stars! Every time I go into this store, it's an absolute s***-show! They've got row after row…read moreblocked off with crap piled high and there is no way to get a cart through. It's next to impossible to get any kind of service from the employees because none of them know where anything is. They just get on their device to look stuff up on the juneau home depot website. But the website is ALWAYS wrong!! It's never updated correctly!! Example: The site will tell you there is 90 in stock of a particular item in this store, and it will give you a row and bay number, but the item is never where the site says it is!! So you just end up following a staff member as they wander aimlessly around the entire store for over an hour until they finally just give up and tell you "I don't know where it is". And forget asking for a manager because they end up just doing the exact same thing! So they end up wasting 2 hours out of your day and you end up so pissed that you just walk out of the store with nothing. I've been to home depots all over, in many different states and the Juneau Home Depot is BY FAR the absolute worst you will EVER encounter!!! And apparently I'm not alone in my disgust with this business. The reviews go back 9 years, and all but 1 review is 1 star. So they've made absolutely NO IMPROVEMENTS IN 9 YEARS!! Goes to show how little they care about the community they serve or their impression of this store. Home Depot has ONLY responded to the 1 review that gave more than 1 star. They've made no attempts at an apology for all of the rest of the horrible experiences going back 9 years.

The staff is nice but almost impossible to find someone that actually knows something. The prices…read moreare pretty good and definitely better than most in town. If they don't have it in the store and it says it cannot ship to store online they can still order it for you if you go in to the service counter which is awesome.

I picked up a really nice rock for my collection. That was pretty cool. It is tailored to tourists. The shop is located downtown of Juneau and yes the store was very busy when we came. The staff was also very friendly as well. Prices are reasonable. I highly recommend visiting this store.

I contacted the shipper insurance, the collect the statue and shipping contents, and Mt. Juneau Trading Company is no longer taking my calls. UPS says they settled the matter with Mt. Juneau Trading Company, and that I should call them for a solution. They are now not taking my calls. I was on a cruiseship and am also considering contacting the cruise ship company to lodge a complaint about Mt. Juneau Trading Company's business practices. I seek a refund or replacement. My calls are NO LONGER being answered. I expressed concern when I purchased the statue, about it breaking during shipping and KYLE TRIPP assured me it would arrive unbroken. I have spoken to the owner JACK TRIPP several times and have not been given a solution. Only delays. I hope they contact me and fix my problem. 780-709-4584. I would have bought the set except I didn't want to lug it around the town then deal with stuffing it in my luggage on our cruise, and I'm too cheap to pay for shipping.

And I was not prepared for the shopping insanity both on the ship and off. Imagine four cruise ships docking at once each carrying 2,000 people, many of whom seem born to shop. I am not. I was born to wander, sniff the flowers, take photographs, talk to locals and I very rarely buy anything on my travels. I'm not a fan of most tourist crap and didn't want to spend thousands on a Tanzanite cocktail ring. What is with all the jewelry shops? So I was just being a looky loo when I wandered into this store. And wow, they actually carried some interesting items. While every other store in Juneau, and most of the other ports, seemed to carry pretty much the same thing, this was different. I immediately zeroed in on some glass art which is my favorite thing to collect. But unlike every other store that has tourist discounts, things here were actually full price. And I hate paying retail so I walked out the door. Surely there would be more of the same at the next port. I was wrong. I looked for something similar at every other port and got more and more frustrated that I didn't just buy it when I had the chance. Fast forward a few weeks, and I can't get the piece out of my head. Thank goodness for the internet. And while they don't have a fully functional website, I was able to email the business and started corresponding with the owner. The funny part is that the artist I loved is actually based in Washington, not Alaska. The owner of the store was my intermediary and suggested we have the artist ship the piece from Washington to save some shipping costs. But the artist's studio was in the process of moving so it took about 10 back and forth (Where is it? When will it arrive?) emails before I finally received my precious. So if you are traveling through Alaska, I'd say if you see something you like here, buy it right away. Otherwise you might turn into a Class A nag.
