It's like walking in to a museum but better, because you can buy everything you see, if money is no object. Authentic Alaskan art, from totem poles to mammoth tusks, and anything in between. Hand carved stones, wood, walrus ivory and whale teeth, native masks & paddles, all by local artists. I was like a kid in a candy store. If you plan to visit Juneau, this place is a must!

Gunalcheesh! I love it lots! Thank you Andrew Tripp you did a wonderful job. (custom made bracelet)

Went to Juneau for a week my very first trip to Alaska. I had been looking all week for that one special souvenir for myself without any luck. Don't get me wrong there are so many beautiful things everywhere, but I was looking for that one special thing that said I finally made it to Alaska. Toward the end of my trip I ran into their booth at the Celebration art market I saw the most beautiful shark bracelet. Being Wooshkeetaan it caught my eye. Its amazing the difference from the stamped engraved tourist stuff to their work. The original bracelet I saw was a little bigger then I was looking for. They sent someone from their shop to hand deliver one they had in their shop they thought I might like. It was beautiful but didn't hit the spot. They told me to check out their store and see if I liked anything there. Checked out the store and believe me its amazing. I do professional native bead work so I have to admit I'm picky for what I'm shopping for. Anyway myself, friends, and family bought a lot of stuff from their shop by far the best shopping we did the whole trip. Some items were in other shops and we did notice a difference in price, but it is very important for us to support native owned business. Well back to the bracelet.... The staff knew that I was disappointed that I couldn't find anything like the bracelet I saw in the art market. They said they could custom make one for me. I jumped at the idea, but I wanted Andrew Tripp to make it since he made the original one I looked at. I offered him a hand sewn bag with medicine and am honored to have found him to make it for me. I got the bracelet and it is even more beautiful then I had imagined. It is worth every penny I love it. The bracelet is done with such care its as if a friend has personally crafted it just for me. I had the most wonderful trip to Alaska and I will always have this bracelet to remind me of it. Please do not be surprised when I'm ready to order something else all the way from California. Gunalcheesh!

Pretty native art work! I bought a pair of handmade boots and moccasins and love them! I get lots of complements on how bad-ass the boots are :) Pricey but well worth it. I also bought a shirt with native art work on it. There clothing is pretty awesome if you're looking for something rather than a cheap looking generic Alaska t shirt. The only complaint I would have is was on older woman was walking around and helping a guest and she was rudely talking to the man about what kind of fox skin he was looking at. She just chuckled in a smart ass way at him and talked to him like he was stupid. If she's going to be sassy then maybe she shouldn't work during the busy season with tourists. But other than that the staff was really friendly and I ended up spending $400 with them and walked away satisfied :)

And I was not prepared for the shopping insanity both on the ship and off. Imagine four cruise ships docking at once each carrying 2,000 people, many of whom seem born to shop. I am not. I was born to wander, sniff the flowers, take photographs, talk to locals and I very rarely buy anything on my travels. I'm not a fan of most tourist crap and didn't want to spend thousands on a Tanzanite cocktail ring. What is with all the jewelry shops? So I was just being a looky loo when I wandered into this store. And wow, they actually carried some interesting items. While every other store in Juneau, and most of the other ports, seemed to carry pretty much the same thing, this was different. I immediately zeroed in on some glass art which is my favorite thing to collect. But unlike every other store that has tourist discounts, things here were actually full price. And I hate paying retail so I walked out the door. Surely there would be more of the same at the next port. I was wrong. I looked for something similar at every other port and got more and more frustrated that I didn't just buy it when I had the chance. Fast forward a few weeks, and I can't get the piece out of my head. Thank goodness for the internet. And while they don't have a fully functional website, I was able to email the business and started corresponding with the owner. The funny part is that the artist I loved is actually based in Washington, not Alaska. The owner of the store was my intermediary and suggested we have the artist ship the piece from Washington to save some shipping costs. But the artist's studio was in the process of moving so it took about 10 back and forth (Where is it? When will it arrive?) emails before I finally received my precious. So if you are traveling through Alaska, I'd say if you see something you like here, buy it right away. Otherwise you might turn into a Class A nag.

I specifically asked for at least one or more white lilies, her favorite. These are shown on their website under the Memorie bouquet. Not only were there NO lilies of any color, the bouquet looked smaller than their $70 Sympathie bouquet. I told them over the phone in April that the lilies were to be picked up by me upon my arrival and taken to my wife's final resting place and that my wife is a US Navy veteran that died by a disease the VA considers 100% service related who died June 29,2019. I consider the bouquet received to be a disrespect to my wife's memory and her service to our country for which she gave her life. I also consider it despicable that the bouquet delivered had any semblance to the bouquet I ordered. I responded to their request for review they emailed upon delivery and still have not received ANY reply from them a week later. I will never order from them again nor would I recommend this establishment to anyone.

After 6 weeks of waiting I called and I was told by the clerk that there was no way of telling when the order would be here, very rudely. After 3 months of waiting I finally received my order and the leather couch I ordered came in a different color than what I ordered and it was also vinyl not leather. It was not only the poor customer service I received from the Sitka store, it was the extra 6 weeks it took to receive my order and the worst part about it all is they charged me for a leather love seat and I received a vinyl love seat for $850.00 I would never purchase a vinyl love seat for almost a $1,000.00 as they also charged my $60.00 for the 6 week late delivery. The owner of the Lyle's & Jensens Home Furnishings lied to me when he said that my couch was finally on the way and it was leather, just a different color than I had picked out. I would not recommend this store to anyone, they over charged me, lied and provided lousy customer service. Lyles & Jensens basically stole my money and sold me poorly crafted furniture. Very disappointed, Maryann Musewski
